- What's up peeps, in this video I show you how I made the taillights clear on my Honda CR-Z 2011 with only a few tools and some clear silicone.
This mod can be very easy to do if the time is spent right and it is not rushed. It can make the look of the car much better and the lights do not need to be changed as they are LED. Follow at your own risk.

Couple things not mentioned in the video
- you won’t need to replace any lights as they are already red LEDs
- it’s quite difficult to take out the red pieces but can be done with lots of working at it
wow a crz clear tails vid. so glad someone made it
Finally someone made this video 👏
Nice, that removal was very fast and simple. I just wish headlights (any make or model) were just as easy
yes, unfortunately headlights require the bumper off, i have done some mods to my headlights but didn’t make a video at the time, im planning on doing some mods that people can follow in the future so look out for that video!
@@1Jackpulleya video of taking the headlights lense off would be a life saver
She's gorgeous 😍 I've got a 2014 and I'm in love with her. We've been together 9 years with 115k.... Currently I'm replacing the headlight bulbs. My main issue is the fading paint 😢
That eye lid is so cute XD lol!!! Great vid!! Thanks!! liked and subscribed! I will do that to my CRZ, a white one.
thank you ! hope it goes well for you
@1Jackpulley sorry but I failed. I cracked the edge tip area. This was my first time so I didn't know which temperature of heat gun I should have set to. I gave up since the crack is near the edge (side of the body), I will just leave it at that before I make it worse.
@@SIGMA_G12 ah i’m really sorry, that is a big risk you face when doing this mod, you have to be really careful and feel for if it is going to crack, i feel really bad this has happened to you, you could possibly take off the cracked corner and use a super glue to put it back into one piece, it should look as if there is no damage, just be careful to not make any more damage.
We're there clear bulbs that needed to be replaced with colored bulbs?
@@lescap1209 no sir, read the pinned comment of this video
Wild question and idk if you’ll reply but would it be feasible to bake the tail light instead of using a heat gun, the only reason I would think not too is the led circuit board in the tail light housing, again if you don’t have an answer that’s understandable because I don’t think either of us are experts on circuits
@@fr0sty_melonz you could, maybeeeee? altho yeah that would be heating the whole thing and could cause the lens to melt and as you said the circuit board possibly also to melt, the good thing about the heat gun is you technically get the lens close to melting but just enough for the glue to become liquid and then it’s enough, i suppose you could try baking, but just at not too much heat
@@1Jackpulley thank you for the quick response holy shit, but I asked the CRZ forum as well so if I get an answer I’ll let you know, but yeah the heat gun seems to be the only real option for this mod it seems, like obv it works I just did one of mine but minorly cracked my other light nothing crazy I just don’t wanna risk it more than I have, I probably didn’t get it hot enough tbh 💀
I like honda crz its my favorite car, i need one
I have a supercharged one with a new bumblebee bee-max battery. Factory supercharged done by the dealer.
Tryin to trade for a 4 seater like a civic si 2012 isj.
Hey Brother. Awesome car. Where did you get the eye lids??
I actually made them with wrap cut to the shape
Great vid, got a question tho the owners in my group are all dating that the cap needs to be cut off but then you seem to be able to pry with heat, any idea why they might be saying this?
This is because when you pry it with heat you have to be pretty careful to not break or crack the lens, and when you cut it you don’t have to worry about the lens cracking or breaking, from my experience as shown in the video it wasn’t too difficult to just heat and seperate so that’s why I showed this method - you can cut the lens off though if you are worried about cracks or the lens breaking
@@1Jackpulley ok cheers do I just need to make sure to heat the hell out of them?
@@danielblandford9013 yes but not too much or you’ll melt the lenses
Cool video, I like Honda 👍
Love the spoiler
Haha thanks. It’s a rep mugen spoiler
Where did you get the little headlamp brows
@@richard3199-m2k i made them, they’re just black stickers cut to shape
How and what did u use for the front eyeliner mod for the headlights?
Ohh as in the eyelids, it’s simply just a vinyl sticker that’s been printed to shape, I think if you really want you could get it online if you search crz eyelids
Very nice.
Can you link the spoiler please?

Sheesh nice lights😮😮. Is that westlake school uniform?

😢😮 im a coach builder using ordinary sealant omg... those lens covers will be falling off some time very soon! Use stilaxfix sealant glue.... they use this stuff in car factorys
It’s been about 4 months of daily use in all kinds of weather, never seen any condensation or liquid inside and they are still rock solid with a pull, thanks but it seemed to work very well
@@1Jackpulley as a trained coach builder the sealant will fail when the temp changes ie winter to summer.. it will go brittle and fail....
@@AndrewPattullo i literally made them clear in spring when temps were around 2 degrees celcius, and it’s summer now with temps of 30 degrees celcius and they’re still holding in great, I just gave them a pull earlier to see and they’re fine so i believe that you are a coach builder, but this method worked thanks.
I've used exactly the same method, I'm in the UK and the weather is all over the place, but as you @1Jackpulley say they're holding strong and it's been months, they're rock solid and zero leaks. EXCELLENT
