I purchased a vintage Rolex Sub from an unpleasant dealer which I fortunately managed to get my money back from. The reason I demanded a refund was because of badly inscribed numbers between the lugs. I passed this very store and spoke to this very man ( David ). I asked for advice & info. I'm afraid to say he couldn't give a shit. At the time the shop was empty & he was doing nothing but standing behind a counter. Bearing in mind I had the intention of buying from here to guarantee a safer purchase when dealing with vintage. I'm always amazed at their lovely jolly persona on RUclips then one on one you see their true colors. I would not step over this guys front door ever again.
@@antonybaker5352 Those watches are heavily restored, so I think there also over priced, but these people have been in business for many years, so they know what there doing!

I was there in December visiting from Canada, I found the like for like prices in this shop about 40% higher than what I pay in Canada. Ostensibly prices were in pounds what I would pay here in CAD.
Unfortunately they have to pay for the crazy rent in the arcade. A lot of idiots who doesn't know prices and "trusts" the watch as there's a physical store

Went through the Burlington Arcade the weekend before last, the biggest crowd was definitely in front of this shop. Though I was there more to look at the vintage Speedies in Somlo.
The GMTs with the gorgeous aged patinas on the aluminium bezels are absolutely stunning,that’s what I love about aluminium instead of ceramic.

Collecting 1960s Omega, Rolex and Heuer black bezel tritium sports pieces, so this is a treat ! Nice ! That store is a museum. I walked hundreds of times on Piccadilly on London visits but never stopped. Very keen to visit one day.

Thanks! The Daytonas were much more beautiful in the earlly seventies. The fonts and numbers finer and more objectve/elegant. Now, it is all gloss and bling.
Fantastic video! I’m a huge GMT Master 2 fan. I’d love to own a Coke some day , hopefully from my birth year 🙌🏼 Apart from the Rolexes, I noticed that your Seiko blends in so well with the rest of the watches. It’s the best Datejust homage! If I didn’t know about it, I’d definitely think it’s a white dial, smooth bezel DJ. I love this video and all the watch content on this channel. Keep up the good work 🙌🏼

This is a great shop to just LOOK, their prices are around 40-50% more than what you can get from other dealers as they are paying a lot for rent.
As a vintage collector I went in once and I didn't bring my loupe and I asked for one and they said they don't have one. Which I know is a complete lie as a loupe is the most fundamental tool to assess a watch, let a alone a vintage where there are so many things to check, I grew up with a father who's a watch dealer for 40yrs.
No way they didn’t have a loupe. If they said that they are liars IMO. BS on that one. No loupe? Suuuuurrre.
Man, those watches are amazing and I love when they look vintage and have a story. I'll take a vintage Rolex over new any day of the week.

Often when I visit London, I view this stock; one reason is to try on the red Submariner that I bought for £192 in 1975 when I was 19 years old.

I always walk down The Arcade looking at amazing highly priced watches and the new bespoke stores. Unfortunately wearing expensive watches in London is dangerous as gangs target you for them. Three robbers just sentenced to 10 years each for robbing and physically blinding a guy for his Rolex, irony was it turned out to be a fake watch!

Why? What if they don't like that brand. I collect Patek Philippe and currently have 30 pieces both new and vintage and they may not be as rugged as a Rolex, the craftsmanship and the movement are not even in the same ballpark

Found another shop near Harrods , people where real nice… look and did not find what i was looking for at a price that was good for me.
He said the GMT Master was first made in 1955.. I could be wrong, but confident it was 1954
He also said the Blueberry GMT is legit, its fake. Was never made for the military or whatever. Look it up. Its a frankenstein.

I’m a long time watch collector and this store is the snobbiest overpriced store I have ever been too. Never buy from them
I am pleased that vintage does not interest me at all. In the 1970s, I complained to Rolex about poor workmanship: part of tomorrow's number was visible in the date window; the bracelet lugs moved and rattled and the accuracy was disappointing.

I too have visited this shop and spoke at length to "David". I had a SS vintage Submariner for sale with proof of ownership. Of the three dealers in the Arcade and others in London, David seemed to me to be the least sincere and honest. I too would never visit this shop again or do and business with "David". My advice, avoid at all costs.

Sorry but the Blueberry GMT is a fake -it was never released for the UAE military or signed with a Cartier dial. FAKE. Rolex never made that dial, look it up

You can see the same watch in the OAK collection, one of the greatest collections of unique watches of our time. So that should tell you that it is real

How does that mean nothing? What makes you think you have better information than a professional curator that puts together one of the greatest watch collections of our time?
We haven’t commented on this yet as we simply don’t know and not everything is always transparent especially when it comes to Rolex history. Seeing it in the OAK collection is for me enough proof that it is a real watch. If you have any convincing argument beyond „Rolex have never released this bezel“ i have no reason to believe otherwise
