I purchased a vintage Rolex Sub from an unpleasant dealer which I fortunately managed to get my money back from. The reason I demanded a refund was because of badly inscribed numbers between the lugs. I passed this very store and spoke to this very man ( David ). I asked for advice & info. I'm afraid to say he couldn't give a shit. At the time the shop was empty & he was doing nothing but standing behind a counter. Bearing in mind I had the intention of buying from here to guarantee a safer purchase when dealing with vintage. I'm always amazed at their lovely jolly persona on RUclips then one on one you see their true colors. I would not step over this guys front door ever again.

Unfortunately they have to pay for the crazy rent in the arcade. A lot of idiots who doesn't know prices and "trusts" the watch as there's a physical store

Collecting 1960s Omega, Rolex and Heuer black bezel tritium sports pieces, so this is a treat ! Nice ! That store is a museum. I walked hundreds of times on Piccadilly on London visits but never stopped. Very keen to visit one day.
Thanks! The Daytonas were much more beautiful in the earlly seventies. The fonts and numbers finer and more objectve/elegant. Now, it is all gloss and bling.
I bought a Submariner 124060 Super Clone from Asia. +2 seconds per day accuracy. Can’t tell the difference with the naked eye. It’s a much better watch than these Vintage watches. I don’t know what all the hype is. This salesman will never sell all those watches in his life. 😅 It’s fakery if you ask me. They always talk about watch collecting, and value. They need to sell the idea of collecting for them to survive. Look how many watches they have, and this is just one of many thousands of similar shops. Then there’s the stuff online. This is a great shop to just LOOK, their prices are around 40-50% more than what you can get from other dealers as they are paying a lot for rent. As a vintage collector I went in once and I didn't bring my loupe and I asked for one and they said they don't have one. Which I know is a complete lie as a loupe is the most fundamental tool to assess a watch, let a alone a vintage where there are so many things to check, I grew up with a father who's a watch dealer for 40yrs.

Of the three dealers in the Arcade and others in London, David seemed to me to be the least sincere and honest. I too would never visit this shop again or do and business with "David". My advice, avoid at all costs.
I was given a copy of Mr Silvers Rolex book . However for some reason there are no Rolex Watch model nos listed beside the watch pictures, so that makes the whole book a waste of what could have been a wonderful reference book. I have collected Rolex watches for over 50 years and have found that so called experts, if shown a vintage say Rolex Submariner would all give different opinions ie wrong hands, not original face, changed bezel etc these original watches were made as ‘tool’ watches ie for divers or workers who needed a robust, waterproof watch. They were assembled by different watch makers and were therefore sometimes quite individual. For example the model 6536 Submariner was probably the most diverse model you could get. There were so many variations, no one knows how many varieties, so even the so called experts are not aware of the differences.
