Brother Dirkmaat is surely one of my favorites. I received a witness of the spirit over and one again. Lots of tears and confirmation of the spirit. Loved it all.
BTW, Brother Dirk moss is hilarious and could do faithful stand up Church History stories all day long and I’d love listening to him!His perspective is so real and he captures the humanity of the History of the time which makes the early Saints so relatable to today. They were real and flawed people trying their best to live divine experiences the best they knew how, just like the rest of us.
At the 51 mark is what we as a family have thankfully not fallen into. Even though my dad left our family and walked away to other women as a man sealed to my mother for 25 years, we have just continued forward on the path that we know is true and will continue to choose because we know that our Father in heaven has it all resolved. Its all in His hands. I know families are forever & the sealing I took upon with my own husband is as sacred and special here on earth as it is in heaven.
What an episode. Thank you again Brother Moss! I understand Dirkmaat is Dutch. I too have a Dutch ancestry and live in Layton. Have not heard of a visit from a Nephite😐 It is at a very hard time in our history that all men are being asked to question their identity. That Satan is using this tactic to take away our true self and underestimate our faith is indeed terrifying. Glad you answered and stated what we need to come back to. And that is our belief in God and Jesus Christ and our standing with them. And in that standing there is surety of who we are.
Thank you for your insights about traveling upon the waters. Especially for directing them to that specific experience, traveling between OH and MO. In our family study, we discussed how the Lord and the Spirit direct us in our personal life and according to our circumstances. During Bro. Dirkmaat's testimony at the end and peoples next life questions, I thought of Pres. Oaks talk, Trust in the Lord, Oct 2019. Pres. Oaks quoted this “You are worried about the wrong things. You should be worried about whether you will get to those places." I believe the best questions to focus on are the Temple Recommend questions. They are the foundation of all other questions. I'm also grateful to put a name to Pascal's Wager. I have had these thoughts before. When I joined the Church, someone said that I was joining a cult. I have often joked that this is a great cult, we don't drink or smoke, we live the law of Chastity, we are commanded to serve others, be kind etc... Seriously! The Gospel is Amazing and I'm so grateful to be a part of it!
What a wonderful episode! I love listening to Dr. Dirkmaat, thank you for having him on again. That was a great story about Brother Moss! Love the work you’re all doing.
I think this was one of the best podcasts I've listened to, since I started listening to podcasts. And I've heard many. Dirk Moss 🤣could be a stand up comedian if he ever leaves his day job. Thanks brethren.
While the story of Brother Dirk Moss was very entertaining, as he related it, the Spirit testified to me of the divine design involved in helping the ward members as they were being sabotaged by the unbelievers. His plan is so intricate and so involved it is mind boggling. So, yes, I do laugh with you, but I also weep as I see the hand of the Lord in the lives of His children. May we all be blessed to play a part in the salvation of our brothers and sisters as we go through our lives as illustrated in that story.
I was reminded about all the events that have happened to me. The truth is, without the Prophet Joseph Smith, I would be no less than an agnostic, with no morals, or hardly any at all. I don't know if you are looking for more guest on your firesides, but if you would allow me I can definitely give you cause to consider this offer.
Dirk Maas: great story about the FT day. That's why they used to call it freedom of speech day. Anyone would get up and talk, even if they preached false doctrine.
The only reason I joined the church was because I heard of a Dirk Moss who was actually one of the three Nephites and defended the church. Now what do I do? 🤣

Fast Sundays are some of our favorite days! :)
This was my favorite so far! So Inspiring and so entertaining. Where do I sign up for a Dr Gerrit Dirkmatt fan club?
😂
The only reason I joined the church was because I heard of a Dirk Moss who was actually one of the three Nephites and defended the church. Now what do I do? 🤣
Haha! The church is still true. :)
When the stake president was still looking for Dirk Moss, I could just tell it was going to turn into a potential Three Nephite story 😅
Hahaha!
