I wish they would bring back the Golf Alltrack; I have a 2019 Alltrack SEL, and it does all just well, from driving in the winter to carrying loads of stuff.
If you take a Tiguan for a test drive (we did yesterday) the first thing you are struck by is how roomy it feels. Mazda is the absolute worst with regards to cramming you into snug spaces. Toyota is probably next. The CR-V is pretty good, but not as much legroom as the Tiguan. I had high hopes for the Mazda and it felt terrible. I had zero expectations for the Tiguan and we really liked it. We also really liked the way the Tiguan felt and drove. I don't like the HVAC controls in the VW... touchscreen, and I don't like the plastic oil pan. Like $1000 to replace with a steel oil pan. Downgrade to tactile knobs and controls VW and put in a normal oil pan. Cmon. It'd be a damned near perfect compact utility vehicle.
@@AnotherYTcreator Yes that does indeed suck about the reclining being taken away. The comfort in the backseat was a big part of why I was interested. Def the most legroom in the 2024 of any other car I test drove. I am curious about the 2026 kia sportage now which looks good as hell imo and does have reclining backseats. I will test drive a 2025 to get an idea and it might be a tiguan competitor.
Irony, I have a friend, she is on her 2nd Tig as well. Considering buying the 3rd. Will this float her boat again? Hmm. 1st one had throttle issues. 2nd one had some sort of computer code issues.
looks awesome... WHY do car companies have to put buttons in the middle where all that storage should be. I'd rather have cup holders or space for my phone or storage space.. not some push button start or volume knob or whatever that other button is.. right there where i put my coffee/water/drinks
Right??? It’s a complete waste of space. Put the damn buttons on the dash! Use flat horizontal spaces for storage, vertical surfaces like the dash for controls.
VW did that before. But as usual, the always add then remove those very features that draw their customers to the brand. When I saw it I thought wow, no need for aftermarket wiring. Then noticed it not on the new models.
The tail lights are a little bit busy, but I like the red illuminated logos on this and another Audi I have seen. I wonder if they get brighter when the brakes are applied.
If it’s anything like the Atlas , the red across the back is just a tail light. It has 2 horizontal led lines at each side of the hatch. One’s the brake , the other the signal ( Amber ).
Looks so out of place with the new tech. I personally think the haptic touch steering wheel was better. If you can use a touch smart phone how come you can't use a touch steering wheel?
Everything looks great, but is there a way to manually control the gears in this car? The previous gen had the tip mode, and since there's no floor shifter or paddles that I can see, am I missing something?
So, how deceiving is that C pillar? From the outside, it looks all glass, but from your quick look (2:42 time mark) at the rear seat, there is a tiny rear side window and a huge blacked-out liner area.
Coming from an Audi Q3 Premium Plus, I am considering this. I really want a hybrid or electric but. This, the atlas, rav 4, or even a sedan like sonata hybrid. Are all very nice
Now the only thing I have a gripe about is that tacked on tablet infotainment screen. It should be integrated to give it that more streamlined cleaner look. It just doesn't look right to me
The ambient lighting doesn't turn red for caution when you open the doors. Anyway, just stick to basic shapes for the rear lights. The PLAY button shape looks weird. The pockets on the rear seats are a terrible idea. First, they're going to get dirty from sticky greasy paws. But if that's not bad enough the material will stretch and sag. Even worse, tear at the seams and look really nasty. Not sure why they moved the cup holders forward, but they need to sit level. Otherwise, drinks are going to spill with every acceleration. Finally, just get the standard 12.9" display, its more than big enough. One more thing, Tiguan R. Call me.
There are two sections of ambient lighting, for example in the door there is the top speckle design lighting and then below that there is a soft ambient light along the trim. Do you know if you can have these two sections run two different colors? So for example have the top speckle light be red and the soft glow lighting be blue?
No 40/20/40 sliding rear seat. Almost no one offers it anymore. 😢 I’ll have to but a huge Honda Pilot I guess? After 4 consecutive VW’s , I think I’m done. No wagons and the Tiguan is ruined.
It looks like they made it shorter than the Tayron. Tayron is so long and it was supposed to be based of the Tayron. Good call VW! It looks so much better.
I'm sorry, everyone loves a crossover? I do not see why anyone shopping in this class would want anything outside of the Rav4 hybrid, CR-V hybrid, or Mazda CX-5/50. If you want something bigger, with more speed, better handling, cheaper, or more luxurious, then you don't want a compact crossover. And i am not an elitist, I love GM, Ford and VWs too, but these models listed are best in class for the person looking for this class of vehicle.
I love that the germans has invested so heavily, even MB, in the 2 decade old Kia Soul ambient lighting gimmick. I guess if you can't build a good quality car, you just slap in some ambient lighting to distract from the poor dependability.
So now it’s about the size of a Taos? Why? Why is the rear overhang so short? It looks so much smaller than the last generation. SUVs with short rear overhangs just look ridiculous. They look like an economy car. This is disappointing Volkswagen. I would not be interested in this midsize SUV that looks compact.
This is trash. I can literally see all of the issues as you pointed out. These will be recall/maintenance nightmares. They made naturally aspirated inline 4s with more horsepower in the early 2000s.
I wish they would bring back the Golf Alltrack; I have a 2019 Alltrack SEL, and it does all just well, from driving in the winter to carrying loads of stuff.
Yes bring back a wagon option!! I love my 17 SEL Alltrack
Must’ve not sold well enough to keep around
@@pieorion883 this is unfortunately true! Almost everyone either wants a crossover, or a pickup truck. And of course with an automatic transmission .
My 2018 Alltrack is amazing 👍👍
Wow look at that backseat room sitting behind a 6'3" guy! SOLD
I'm 6'3, I can fit behind myself. This cars rear seats are largest in class in my opinion. 2024 model reclines, 2025 does not.

Tiguan has always been SO much better than Mazda & Toyota in that regard.
I really believe you will start to see more of this TIGUAN on the road very soon 😅
Looks great! If I didn’t have a 2024 Cross Sport I might grab one
Looks like an upscale Audi SUV, very nice!
I love the design ! Just love to see the shift handle and some basic physical buttons are better than all big screen…
Thanks for sharing!!
Yay more piano black that scratches when you look at it.
I agree, piano black is the worst material
Not sure why car companies keep insisting on using this material, especially in high touch areas
Yep, but its in every car. Right up to ultra luxury
So excited for this - already on my second Tiguan 😎

Trying to convince my sister to get one as well

I wish car manufacturers will put a power supply near the rear view mirror to be able to plug in a dash cam.

@ the new 2025 Nissan Kicks has it.
I think the 25 atlas has that feature. The reviewers may have not noticed or talked about it yet.
Glad to see it going a little bit back to its roots
That knob is a nightmare. Volume and drive mode…wtf. You tap it to switch between them but it looks haptic….

Not sure what VW was thinking. First the fake exhaust and now the tail lights. It seems like the just can't leave well enough alone.
Buttons on the steering wheel!
Nice!
Now they gotta bring back regular buttons for the climate control and such
The digital climate controls might be a deal breaker for me. Will have to test drive though to see for sure.
Looks so out of place with the new tech. I personally think the haptic touch steering wheel was better. If you can use a touch smart phone how come you can't use a touch steering wheel?

Because youre looking at your phone
You arent looking at your controls while you drive

Good value and larger while having lower maintenance cost
@AnotherYTcreator which one
Volkswagen is making baby Audis again ❤
Is the 3rd row Tayron coming to USA market soon ?
They’re not doing that in the US. Only Europe is getting that since they don’t get the new Atlas.
Now the only thing I have a gripe about is that tacked on tablet infotainment screen. It should be integrated to give it that more streamlined cleaner look. It just doesn't look right to me
So where this SUV is manufactured ?
Pueblo, Mexico
@@krane15 That's a big no.

I know it is a space saver, but the fact it has a spare wheel at all has to de applauded
Good review, thanks. Disappointed to hear they are not going to import the PHEV 272 PS.
VW CEO says the will.
Really wish VW would bring us the full R version!! This new one will already steal from Q5 sales. Why not also steal from the SQ5? Give us options!

It's a shame it's not the Tayron. No engine options?
You need more horse power!
At least it's not all black, but brown and black leathers mixed? I can't get on board.
Where is it made Mexico?
Yes. It’s made in Mexico.
What ever happened to the phev that europe has and it comes with 62 miles EV range . Thats what america needs
I thought the tayron was coming to the USA ?
No. At least not soon.

The US Tiguan is pretty much similar to the EU Tayron. The EU Tiguan is a bit smaller.
@@Melvin_1006 Same car.
Your comparing 1990 gli to this?
So did they kill the 3rd row?
It still made bub.
I was looking to buy if it came in hybrid, but now with no 3rd low and no hybrid, it's a pass.
There are two hybrid that should come to North America later. They also have a 3-row. No idea if that will be produced to this market.
Nice car. Only one big problem. Wrong method of propulsion. 😁

Looks nicer than any Audi SUV.
Looks like a Chevy
Looks like an ID.4
I feel like the power numbers are low for the segment
Definitely low. It sucks they can't offer a higher performance powertrain for this model. Still, at this price point it is my favorite compact suv.
Well, it’s 200 pounds lighter than the old Tiguan. That compesate.

Looks like a rav4 from the side
Front is ugly , rear not bad , that volume knob should have been next to the radio not in the console where the shifter should be.
A nice looking vehicle but has VW been asleep for the last 8 yrs? No hybrid? No PHEV? Wow.
Wrong, they make both.
@ I don’t see them in NA.
The Golden Era (GTI mk7, jetta mk6, beetle mk2, passat b8, up! tiguan all-wheel 7seater, touareg) for VW has ended. We VW fans rather look elsewhere..
Gorgeous interior but those low profile tires 🛞 look awful
tires way too small. come on
It's a vw, it will inevitably have massive problems like all of the new volkswagens do. 2018 and below are the better vw's
No physical buttons for climate control is a no for me
I'm okay with the front emblem being lite up but the rear emblem in red looks weird like a clown nose.
Tell VW to put it on a switch.
Very nice car 😅 now be can kill gti 😂
That thing reminds me a "Cracker Jacks Box" LMBO :) JEEP BABY!!! Since 1941
Just do a cheap van challenge or cancel the shows
No 7 seats anymore. 😢😢
Nope.
Only dogs could fit in the old third row…
Chevy Equinox
A 2.0 liter? Very disappointing….
Just more shit to break i will keep my mitsubishi mirage
OH NO!! VW succumbs to the very tired and very over-used ugly quasi floating roof look. That line is totally unnecessary and silly!
