  • This is the song America, by Leonard Bernstein, played on Yamaha Electone EL-90. The song is actually longer, but due to technical problems I couldn't record more than 3 minutes...
The registrations I use are from a Peter Baartmans Demo Disk.
For those who think this is a CD playing, please listen a bit more carefully.

I can tell you I have listened to his CD a million times, to get to this result!
I have done my own registration and arrangement on one of my favourite songs, and I can tell you one thing: I takes forever to program all the drum patterns and changes! But the result is great!

Cool! I like Riverdance ^^ The dancegroup where I'm in have danced that. Was awesome. People were watching like: wow, fast xD. There is no possibility to sit still on songs like that.

I love funny & irregular rhythms. I am working on Riverdance now. It's packed with it. :)

song file, where you determine where in the performance to change memory button and thus transition of instruments and drum pattern. This makes that it comes close to the real thing. I haven't experimented myself with this that much. I use the preprogrammed files from Yamaha with their scores. That is fantastic! If you have the change to see one play the Electone, you should! :D

That is a way to see it, but that was not the time signature in the book a had. There it is "solved" by grouping the stems of the notes by 3, 3, 2, 2, 2.
I just gave the book away, but I can ask her to look it up for me.
I never used the book though, I just listened a million times to Peter Baartmans' performance on his EL-90 CD, and later found the performance file.

Thanks a lot. I love this song myself.
    I don't do stage music work. I am a happy amateur. :)

Must nearly have something in common with Peter Baartmans then.
These are his registrations, and he works for Yamaha too. Tyros and Clavinova though.

Very Hot!! Great rhythm control..great articulation..a conductor will would be very very happy to have you in a pit orchestra. (is that the case? do you do stage music work?)

Impressive performance. Indeed, you "hear" the Peter Baartmans CD, but ovbiously you're playing using his registrations.
Nicely done, but I'm more curious about how people do ones own registration and arrangement.

Yes, that's right. You can play common organ music for two manuals and a pedalboard on the Electone, too. But using these files lets you use more of the instrument's possibilities. Of course you can program all the rythms yourself, but that is a lot of work. It is such a pity that people often choose more portable instruments. They just don't know the Electones anymore. I even had a Tyros 2 for some months, but I sold it. It just didn't give me the same experience. And the aftertouch was lousy.

Do i hear Peter Baartmans cd? This song is a exact copy of Peter Baartmans playing on his cd "The Time of My Life with the Yamaha EL-90". So Peter Baartmans deserves the credits!!

I know this sounds crazy but, How do electones work? How do you make the transition of instruments and the percussion?....

What time signature is this song in?

What are you trying to say? That I play a cd and pretend to play this? Then I am afraid you didn't listen well enough. The registrations are from the Peter Baartmans demo disk, but I completely play it myself.

So the music you play is like organ music, right?

  • @tpmm1
    @tpmm1  16 лет назад

You have a point there. They indeed work for the same company. The books and disks you can buy from Yamaha itself sometimes are extremely lousy orchestrated, in my opinion.

Actually, I haven't. I'm sorry. I will google this Electone Player.
