Hello, I'm very new to freeze drying. I did buy a dryer with lots of supplies. Nothing has been unpacked yet. Watching your channel has given me confidence to get started. Thank-you for that. I will definitely go back to your older videos and enjoy your new ones.
Oh that’s exciting!! I’m glad my videos can help - thanks for watching. Good luck 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing FD and Alaska. i’m in SC - very far away! I love FD and learn a lot from your FD videos.
@@karenpowers2654 glad you enjoy the videos thanks for watching ❤️
Love the name. I'm learning so much from you. Funny story about the biscuits, I was buying some in the store, and one rolled down to the bagger and popped open with such force. One flew out and smacked the boy on the forhead. We were all screaming in laughter 😂. So yeah...watch out for those biscuits they could start a war. 😂 ❤ Have a beautiful day ❤
Oh my that’s the best story 😂😂😂😂 those things are dangerous !!!!!
Alaska is on my bucket list. ❤
looks yummy, I make a similar casserole but instead of biscuits it has hashbrowns and mix the eggs into the gravy .
Oh that sounds so good!! I’ll have to make that version too
Fabulous new name !!!! Absolutely loving the MRE’s (keep em coming) I
also love seeing where you live. I have shared with you once before that I have a huge fascination with Alaska - I am from hot/dry Australia- one day, i will get there for sure.
Thanks so much!!!! Yes I hope you can visit someday 🥰
I honestly didn't notice the name change since I saw your face and clicked... lol but I do like it. just became number 37 at the Facebook page. I have no doubts you will be a huge success over there too...
Welcome thank you for joining the group!! I appreciate the support ❤️ haha I figured at least my face in the thumbnail would prevent any confusion 😆
Oatmeal apple cinnamon bars and oatmeal raspberry bars are my favorite so far that I’ve tried
Yum! Do you use some type of tray divider to separate the bars? Or cut them up before freeze drying
Thanks again, love your vids.
That’s for watching 🤩
Have you seen the youtube channel "John In Bibs"? He has a lot of original & creative freeze dry ideas. One of his things that look interesting are freeze dried fruits, but after they're dried he dips them in those Candy Melts & the fruit seems to say crunchy for quite awhile. He also makes other chocolate covered freeze dried candies that look wonderful.
I’ve had some others comment about his videos I am going to watch them! Sounds like he’s got awesome ideas. The chocolate covered fruit and candy sounds amazing!
Hello from Phoenix AZ
Hello!!!! That’s my hometown - Mesa.
I noticed the change immediately, I love your new name!!
Yay Thank you! 😊
I am interested in short-term packaging. I am not fond of TV dinners, and the diy i made take up too much space in the freezer.
I might not make the recipes you do but the ideas are good. Please do more mres with sampling.
Awesome I will keep doing more of these, I love having ready to eat meals on hand and agree it’s so nice it doesn’t take up room in the freezer!
Those cans always scare me too❤
Haha I laughed that I got it on video… even knowing it was coming still surprised me lol
Fairly new here. ❤ your new name.
Thank you!!!! And welcome 🤗
That dish looks delicious. Can you share the recipe? And what temperature in the oven?
Oh yes I’ll copy the link to the recipe here - I will update the description tonight
www.scatteredthoughtsofacraftymom.com/sausage-and-gravy-breakfast-casserole/
Those biscuit cans always scare me too 😂
Yessss hahaha
Is there any books available for freeze drying?
affiliates.harvestright.com/2097.html
If you click shop now; then scroll down to the accessories section, harvest right has a freeze drying “recipe book” I personally don’t have it but I bet it has good info in it!
Can you please detail how much water to add back to rehydrate
@tfallinbbq
I noticed she doesn’t say as well. What most Influencers do is they’ll weigh the tray before freeze drying, then weigh again when done. The difference is the amount of water removed. Then divide that total by the number of meals for how much to rehydrate each meal. As I said I don’t know if Brooke keeps track of that because she didn’t mention how much water she used or how much she drained away 😢.
@@MisterEMystery thank you. We are just getting good and started with this whole thing. I’ve loved doing fruit.
I need to improve my measuring skills - @misteremystery gave a great explanation!! I tend to eye ball things which is not the proper way but it works ok 😆 I poured about 1/4 cup of very warm water, and just moved the food around so it came in contact with all sides. After 10 minutes I mashed it up a bit and let it sit for 5 more minutes. At the end there was about a tablespoon of water left that didn’t absorb so I just poured that extra part out before I ate
I only notice your green backing and your smiling face in every one of your videos so I didn’t notice the name change until you brought it up. The same for the dishes in the sink; I didn’t see them until you pointed them out by saying not to look there 😂.
Freeze Drying Society is a GREAT name! If I were to change my name it would now be FD Society member no 2 (or whatever number was available)!
I’m surprised you didn’t change the name to Babbling Brooke! 🤣🤣🤣 Just kidding!
Why don’t you say the “G” word in front of the kiddos? Don’t they like that word or what it represents?
I can’t imagine you making ANYTHING that you’d say yuck too! I keep wondering if you will, but it’s always great, as I expect.
‘John in Bibs’ has lots of great recipes. I’m going through his episodes 227, 228, etc. they’re “cup of noodles” concoctions that are really interesting.
I’ll have to look for those noodle recipes those sound great!! I’m glad ya like the name 😄 haha babbling Brooke would be too accurate of a name bc I tend to babble on for too long 🤣🤣🤣
my kids claim they hate gravy! Who doesn’t like gravy??? I was raised on mashed potatoes and gravy and will always love gravy haha but my kids all claim it’s gross 🫠
What river goes through Anchorage? maybe you are in ER?
I should have said 😆 yes this is Eagle River - that’s the town I live in
@@DIYfreezedry That is my hometown.
@@TammyToo oh that’s awesome - we have lived here for 2 years. We have loved it here
@@DIYfreezedry When my family first moved there. There was one Carrs a post office, 2 bars, 1 barber shop a library a gas station a convenience store, Georges north slope restaurant, a quick stop a car wash and a Chinese restaurant. I am sure a few other things. We lived across from the grade school where the condo's are now.
@@TammyToo oh wow it has grown since then! I sure love having the big Walmart right down the road from my house. I do love that it’s a small town feel but has some extra amenities of a bigger town
