    (im referring to shape mostly.. bc i only have the Mr. Lou's personally)

      Thank you!! I want to try CXL. To me, all these brands are good quality the difference is the shape and the fitting

      @@toneohm If you want to try Shinki horse, I’d recommend Lofgren. They consistently have the best Shinki has to offer.

    Man, these are gorgeous. I'm curious how they compare to the non-Hikaku in dark brown version that's out there. I think I prefer the darker heel finishing on this version.

      I choose these boots precisely because the heel looks to me smarter compared to the other models

    My choice also :-) .. Except for Clinch, but they are double the price ....

    Excellent review Diego. Loved listening to your process of selection. It seems like engineer's are the most difficult boots to get a good fit. I've heard others describe the Lofgren's as difficult to get on and off. I wonder if pull tabs would help? I wish that I could find a pair to try on. An expensive purchase if they are not correct.

      Thank you!! Engineer boots are tough to find the right size and proper fit for. I have watched most of the reviews, and I have read the forums, and most of the people complain about the fit even with the correct size. In my case, I bought the JL because of the fitting, and on the first try, I failed; I needed to exchange for a larger size; the pull tabs help you if the boot fits well 👍👍👍👍

      @@UrbanLadUK Update: Diego, I took the plunge and received a pair these gorgeous JL's in this same makeup from Standard & Strange. They also advised 1/2 size down from my Brannock. I crossed my fingers but knew I could send them back or exchange if they didn't fit. They arrived and first try on was perfect. Gorgeous boots and I'm breaking them in with more hours of wear each day and have had two hikes of 2+ hours. Length is perfect. Just right across the instep, moderate arch support. A small amount of heel slip. Initially, the left boot was snug at the ball of my foot, but already molding to the shape of my foot. I have no issues taking the boots off and on and pop right in with only mild push down and a wiggle of the toes. Thanks for your excellent review as it was instrumental in helping me select these. Yes, they are expensive but the cost of ownership value will be appreciated in 5-10 years. These are keepers!

      @@UrbanLadUK Ha... isn't that the truth! I'm about to enter a pair of boots in the Patina Thunderdome for the first time and will do my best to honor the tradition of wearing a pair daily for 6 months. I ordered a pair of Wesco Mr. Lou's that are sheduled to be made late fall or winter, so set for the foreseeable future. Keep up the great reviews Diego. Wondering if you have any long term updates on your jackets or boots.

      Very strong thick well constructed shoes that fit with jeans and they are elegant at the same time ok for informal work

    • @CsawBoots
      @CsawBoots 2 месяца назад +1

      @@UrbanLadUK Agreed, engineers are the most difficult to get the sizing correct. If you like the John Lofgren engineer true to size, I would suggest the Wesco Mister Lou also true to size.
