    PAD treatment by the best vascular surgeons serving Milford, New Haven, Bridgeport, Stamford, and all of Southwest Connecticut.
    Peripheral arterial disease is the narrowing of the arteries in the legs and arms due to the buildup of plaque inside the arteries.
    Board-certified vascular surgeon Dr. David Esposito explains peripheral artery disease, the risk factors, its symptoms and treatment.
    In this video, Dr. Esposito and board-certified interventional radiologist Dr. Paul Davis perform minimally-invasive PAD treatment to unblock a patient's leg artery.
    The patient had been experiencing leg pain while walking that was relieved by rest.
    Dr. Esposito and Dr. Davis diagnosed her with PAD (peripheral arterial disease).
    At Milford Vascular Institute's outpatient endovascular surgery suite, they restored healthy blood flow through her leg artery by performing balloon angioplasty, atherectomy, and stenting.
    The patient's leg pain was relieved immediately and she was able to enjoy quick recovery time with minimal to no scarring at all.
    If you are experiencing pain while walking that is relieved by rest, you may be suffering from peripheral arterial disease.
    Left untreated PAD can lead to tissue loss and leg amputation.
    To schedule a vascular consultation with one of the top-rated vascular surgeons at the Milford Vascular Institute, give us a call today at (203) 418-7386.

    it’s very important to take your symptoms seriously, many men put aside their health over work or family. But men are usually the ones who need to get amputations due to the neglect.

      Hope all is well 🫶 it’s never too late to improve your health, small lifestyle changes add up. Explore healthy recipes you enjoy and may freeze to eat at a later convenience when you find yourself tired and hungry. Do you have spider veins or varicose veins? If so compression stockings help relieve discomfort and helps me keep more active since my kegs get less tired. At the end if the day I elevate my legs to help with circulation. the best advice is to quit smoking , drinking, and watch the sugars. 🫶

    I’ll be getting vascular surgery in a couple of months. In 2019, I had right ilio femoral bypass graft done. This time I’ll be getting artery repair in the inner right thigh and incision going down to the outer side just above the knee, at 69 yrs of age. Too bad he couldn’t do this method, looks like less recovery time in hospital barring no complications. Last time I got a blood clot at the bypass graft sight and had a stent placed. Then the groin incision got infected and dehissed. This surgeon is hoping to be able to avoid the groin incision but can’t guarantee it. And he said sometimes calf pain may hang around after surgery, no guarantee it will be 100% gone. My attitude is, if it hangs around, so be it. No guarantee on anything in life, especially with bad attitude. ❤️😊🇨🇦😉

    I need a completely occuded anterior tibial artery re-vasculated . An Angiography was performed May of 2023, with the artery occuding after only 3 months. No stent, only ballooning. (Two stents were placed in the upper leg). DO ANY OF YOU GUYS COME UP TO RHODE ISLAND?? I NEED A NEW SURGEON!!!

    • @mvitv1693
      @mvitv1693  6 месяцев назад

      Smaller vessels in the lower leg are typically treated with ballooning rather than stenting due to the size of the vessel. Factors such as genetics, diabetes, elevated cholesterol, smoking, and lifestyle can lead to these vessels re-occluding. It is important to walk/exercise daily, quit smoking if applicable, manage blood sugar and cholesterol levels and take medications as prescribed to try to prevent this.
      Come visit us, we would be honored to care for you.

    I complained to my VA doctor that over the past year that I have increasingly painful legs walking short distances along with SOB. I insisted on seeing a vascular surgeon who never spoke to me and wrote a letter to me that my , at rest claudication test , was normal. Which makes sense to me since I am perfectly comfortable if I were to sit in lazy boy chair all day.
    I had the double bypass widow maker surgery in 2018. I still think I have PAD. Should I insist on additional tests to secure or rule out PAD? Thanks

    • @mvitv1693
      @mvitv1693  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, if you have consistent symptoms of pain in the legs every time you walk, then additional testing is important. The ankle brachial index which is the first test they perform can in some instances have falsely normal results. An ultrasound would be a better indicator in this case.

      Typically for procedures such as these we use a combination of medications through an IV to keep you comfortable. It is termed conscious sedation, so the goal is for you to be conscious and arousable throughout the entire case, but comfortable.

    Good video but something less than complete list of alternative treatments. I corrected arterial plaque with zero intrusive procedures, and zero side effects, naturally . I consumed three enzymes for 3 months using Vitamin K2-MK7, serrapeptase and nattokinase. No scars, no pain. Take a moment to research the above enzymes and draw your own conclusions. I have first hand knowledge with clean arteries.

    I had blood clots in my leg and when I had a follow-up ultrasound, my clots were gone but they seen something, so I had a ct, and they seen a block artery, I had a more clear ultrasound at a vascular surgeon, seen my blockage and narrowing, it was clear. They said I was down to %60 blood flow to my right leg. My leg changes horrible color's when I stand, and extremely painful. I have a follow-up appointment next week, what should be the next step. I am on two different blood medications, one a blood thinner and another for the block artery. I also had knee surgery in September in the same knee. A stent has been mentioned more than once.

      @mvitv1693 Thank you for responding back. At the moment my leg turns purple,swollen and extremely painful. Yesterday I pushed myself with house work my leg is still in so much pain. I'm also having these cold spots throughout my leg, making it feel wet, really cold. I am on blood medications but it's getting worse. First it was my foot turning purple now it's my whole leg smh. Hard to tell what's what because of the patella reconstruction surgery, blood clots, blocked artery. They all cause pain and swelling. I see my vascular surgeon on Friday. But I came across your video while I'm doing research. Thank you for your video and responding back.

      @mvitv1693 I just wanted to update, I seen my vascular doctor and I have a blockaged in my iliac artery along with narrowing so we will be going in to put a stent in. However it will be going in from both sides so it can remove all the block. I guess I will be staying overnight so they can watch me, because of my high risk of blood clots. I'm ready to get it done so I can move on with my life lol thank you again for your video, it definitely helps us not be so scared 😊

      With leg pain, it is a good idea to visit a vascular surgeon who is board certified in vascular surgery to have them check your circulation. The sooner, the better, because vascular problems can be progressive.

      America is the best in medical treatments. The have the best medical training and medical centers that push cutting edge technology that other countries l don’t pick up on until years later. But also keep in mind, your country may not have approved this type of treatment yet. as each country has their own ways of approving treatments, it doesn’t mean it’s not good. these vascular treatments are very promising, some countries are just a little slower at catching on. either way, get yourself checked out, it’s not good to ignore vascular disease as it may require amputation, especially in men, since men typically neglect their health.

      There can be many variables, is the pain from the incision or is it pain in the leg? What procedure did you have? We would suggest if you are having leg pain 2 weeks after the procedure you should call your doctor's office for a follow- up appointment to be evaluated.

    I must be the unluckiest loser on the planet. Last year I had to have my right big toe amputated due to gangrene that also brought osteomyelitis. I also had 2 stents placed on my right leg by 2 different surgeons. I was told it would improve my quality of life and help me walk better;also it would help heal the amputation.
    When 2 months had passed and the wound would not close,even after the use of wound vacs;it was decided for me to have 2 more stents placed....2 on each leg....It didn't help me walk better and stilll took over 16 weeks for the surgical wound to heal.
    I am now experiencing even more troubles walking and being able to stand without toppling over due to balance issues that my newly-deformed foot worsened.
    I am now looking at a permanent wheelchair situation;and an early death because I can't even do my exercise bike anymore due to increased pain in the legs;therefore my blod pr esure and glucose /a1c levels will hit the stratosphere.
    If there's really a God...I hope for mercy and allow me a sudden and quick and effective widowmaker stroke.

      So sorry to hear, I can’t imagine the pain and stress you have. Unfortunately that is the thing that sucks the most about vascular disease and ailments. The worse the circulation, the worst a wound will heal. so patients that often have an amputation or ischemia have to get an amputation before it spreads, which the infection or ischemia is made worse by poor flow. which also makes the healing harder. :( sometimes patients have to amputate just to prevent the osteomyelitis from spreading, only for the surgery to not heal well. osteomyelitis is very tricky to treat, and you have to amputate before it spreads, and takes more, this means that people with poor flow will be battling after the surgery for it to heal. :( modern medicine is not as perfect as we hope, I hope you do not stop advocating for yourself no matter how long and tiring the journey is. you deserve eveything 🫶 have you tried looking into doctors at Big teaching institutions? if you are unhappy with the doctors near you and you have the financial means. Look into bigger institutions.
