Unreal video mate. I'm up North for work at the moment and you've given me some hope that a few longies might still be hanging around. Spinning Noosa heads on Sunday morning..fingers crossed.
Hey mate, thanks for liking the video! I got word that there are still fish south of me so you will definitely be in with a shot come Sunday. Good luck!!
Thanks mate! There's plenty of spots (eg Yamba and Coffs breakwalls) where you can hook some solid fish without the swell factor. I've fished that ledge in the video since the 80s so I know it fairly well and I'm a bit of contrarian when it comes to life jackets as the last thing you want if you go in is to not be able to get under waves. I agree for non-swimmers, jackets should be mandatory but the first thing you want to do is clear the rocks and a jacket makes that hard to do. Let me know if ever you're down this way and I'll take you for a fish.
Thanks Owen. I still get the old leg shakes when a big fish is flapping on the rocks right in front of me but waves won't let you get to it but you're right, that's exactly the time to show restraint or it can all go bad real quick. And yes, got some new hooks the next day. Rookie error that one!
Mate - that ledge we used to swim our baits out off when we were kids lol. These days too many sharks but I’d either get back up the rocks or if the swell was too hectic I’d swim in to the beach. Just needs a judgement call depending on the conditions.
Thanks mate! Yes we have to be really careful on the rocks here as the waves can be unpredictable and dangerous when the swell is big. Hope you are well over there mate!
Thanks Bob. Yep, a couple of hairy ones on that day. Tail end of a solid south swell and there's always the odd set which is bigger than the usual ones. Having an angry 15kg tuna washing around your legs doesn't make it any easier!!
Got emmm, shit yea rob!
Now I've seen a fish you've got other than double dory and double nemo staring me down as I wake up 😂😂
Haha! Thanks Nick mate!

That’s some crazy stuff mate! I’d always wanted to do this but too afraid. I noticed you don’t wear a life jacket either....wowee

Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed
Rob you reckon if you fell in would you be able to get back on the rocks? Or is a swim back to the beach? 😂

Bit hairy at the end there Rob. As I mentioned once before, bit to much hard work for an old bloke. Good video.
