The music in many churches is in fact profane . It is the antithesis of worship. Pop culture runs rampant, with nothing more than repetition in an attempt to add spiritual weight to vapid music . I can’t abide it, if a lowly sinner as myself can’t then what must the Almighty think ? And sound that is playing it at ear shattering levels in an attempt, I suppose, to demand Gods attention much as a spoiled child does only adds insult to injury . God is not deaf , He can hear a whisper from a little child in distress . Churches use the music in a vain attempt to attract people as one might market to consumers in a rock concert. It’s sacrilegious in the extreme .
Music of our fathers leading us to a prayerful event has a profound effect on the listener. Pop type music has NO PLACE IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH unless you are mistaking our church as a CONCERT ARENA. Performance of that type is about the performers rather than JESUS.
Sadly, Catholic leaders allowed and introduced “new ways” to do masses more open to “modern ways to sing in Church” besides of have taken out the Traditional Latin Masses, (huge mistake) now these days we can see the fruits of those bad decisions.
Ridiculous! It is beautiful and hope it always has a place in the liturgy where it is felt appropriate. But let us be clear. Gregorian Chant was a much later development in the development of Christianity. It has no right to be mandatory.
I love Gregorian Chant.
Me too ♥️🙏🏾
Everyone pray for the revival of this sacred music in every Catholic parish on Earth.
God bless Bishop Schneider and thank you God bless you for your beautiful Gregorian chant channel.
Amen.
Thank you, bishop Schneider for mentioning our great Croatian saint bl. Ivan Merz!
Thank you.
