Really loved seeing and hearing your creative process! Love love love this series, mushrooms, abstracts, foraging… 😍 Can’t wait to see more of what you create!
Hei! I also love mushrooms. It's so great that you paint them. I haven't painted them, just sketch, but I also collect them and make different dishes. It's autumn now and I can't wait to go mushroom hunting soon. My favorite to draw is amanita
.watching your video are very relaxing to watch, you cool personality and charming vibes captures your painting and brings to light. Totally enjoy your creative process experience. Cool 😎
I hope you continue your videos. They are informative and very relaxing to watch - unlike some of the "in your face" ones who think yelling and screaming is an effective way to get a message across. Cheers.
There’s a card game called Morels you need to get! It’s a two player game where you ‘forage’ for mushrooms and ‘cook’ them. It’s a quick to learn game, that requires some skill to be good. It’s a favorite for my husband and I!
Love your realistic stuff. The combination with the artsy abstract stuff really stands out. Defintly want to see more pieces of it, this style can also suit other series or pieces. And most importantly keep painting them if they give you the most joy doing so :).
An insparing video! The idea of mushrooms and beautiful colors make me to create my own paintins with what I love to paint. The detail info that how to prepared your panels and mediums are also great to know. Thank you for sharing this video. Keep going with your talent and humor! Lovely !
What a great video. Thanks for sharing your work, your creative process, your passion for the subject and exploration of your work!! This is a great series. Love them all.
So awesome, thanks for sharing. I've been foraging mushrooms since the age of two. It's so rare to see other people with such passion. I have yet to make my first mushroom painting. Cheers!
Amazing work! Not sure why I find mushrooms fascinating, but the number of colors and shapes as well as the whole swamp feel where they tend to grow. I always found that interesting. Someday I'd like to paint some mushrooms with poison arrow frogs. I think that'll be a good combo
I love these paintings so much! This collection is how I discovered your art on instagram. I am a mushroom farmer and oil paint artist so the algorithm got it right :) ! I really enjoy your videos as well, keep um coming! 🍄
The way you mix abstract with realism is really how we see things, right? When you walked into the woods, you saw these mushrooms, your focus would be on the mushrooms and their details. The surroundings would be kind of abstractive. So, for me you were painting your impression of the mushrooms. The surroundings just complimented them, instead of compete with them. (i.e., painting the idea rather than the actual thing). I love it. That's from a viewer's perspective of one person. But what do I know. 😅
These are really great! Super informative video brooke! I really like the way you paint and these videos give me a dose of serotonin! Thanks a lot for your hard work as these are very informative!
Thank you so much! I always appreciate hearing that, as I do put a lot of hard work into these videos haha. I appreciate you watching and commenting! 🙏
This series is so interesting to me. Your mixing of colorful abstract and realism creates an enjoyable depth of interest in each piece. I love watching talented people work. It sparks joy. :) :) Thank you, Brooke.
@@b.cormier I’m a fan - it got me out of a jam a few years ago when I was super anxious. Now I’m trying it out for its neuroplasticity benefits alongside meditation/yoga, lots of good mental/physical habits. I’d only use a source (dealer?😂) you trust though and there’s some interesting podcast eps on it too :)
Brooke! Hope you and the fam are doing well. I've been out looking for Morels with my cousin a few times, but tend to be a boring button mushroom guy, and it's usually from a store lol.
How am I just now seeing this 😭. I love mushrooms and your work so this was perfection 😅! Do you have any prints of this series ? If so I’d love to snag one 🍄.
Brooke I have an idea, you’ve probably already thought of it though. I see abstract painting and then realistic mushrooms popping out of the abstract. But like the third painting at the end, the cream ones.. what if you leaned into that a little to make the abstract all of a sudden become a mushroom like the first shape is abstract and the same color scheme carries it around to a realistic mushroom of the same colors and carries on again abstract. Does that make sense? I feel like it would be in good keeping with the bit you read from the book!
I think I understand your idea! Like a metamorphosis from abstract to mushroom, sounds interesting. I'll keep that in mind moving forward with the series!
Thanks so much! I currently have only one mushroom abstract left and you can find it for sale on my website ☺ www.brookecormier.com/collections/paintings

I am a sucker for fungi! 😍 One of my favorite series I did was my "spooky mushroom" series. Bear tooth ghouls, skull puff balls, etc. 😂

Thanks so much Scot! I really appreciate that 🙏
At the beginning I thought you actually "experimented" with mushrooms if you know what I mean lol. These paintings came out awesome. Way to go.
Best
There's so much I love about this vid, but my personal fav is 'rival shopkeepers'. And the mushrooms! ❤ I'm micro-dosing them as we speak! 😂
Haha thanks Sophie! 🙏That's so interesting, how is your experience with micro-dosing? I've been reading a bit about it!
