Battle 0: pikachu gets hit by scorching sands and cinderace takes no damage they both return to their trainers
Battle 1: gengar beats enteleon then gets beat by mr.rhyme
Battle 2: mega lucario takes out mr.rhyme then takes damage from dragapult
Battle 3: dracovish does damage to dragapult then gets sent back to ash after taken pretty big damage
Battle 4: dragonite takes damage from dragapult then gets sent back to ash and lucario comes out and gets bodied
Battle 5: dragonite takes out dragapult after receiving minimal damage
Battle 6: rilaboom beats dragonite witch i call bullshut as dragonite wasn't fainted and didnt have the swirls around his eyes
Battle 7: rilaboom takes out sirfetched
Battle 8: dracovish takes out rilaboom
Battle 9: scorbuuny beats dracovish
Battle 10: pikachu takes a lot of damage from the collision of his Z-move and charizards gmax move whilst charizard seems unfazed
Battle 11: pikachu and scorbunny both get hit by gmax moves pikachu knocking out scorbunny and pikachu taking some damage
Battle 12: pikachu beats charizard
In the end pikachu is the only one to take down 2 of leons pokemon which is why i believe he carried
And i believe that the other 2 best were dragonite and gengar who took something out lucario also but i see him as less useful as he wasnt able to do anything to anyone else and only took out a weakend mon dracovish beat something to but i just dont think it was as impressive as dragonite or gengar but he was still awesome easily my fave journeys mon deserved more training

You forgot to mention his incredibly overpowered z-move for Pikachu, 10,000,000 volt thunderbolt. Hits so freaking hard and another boost to offense.
Haven't even watched the fight but because I believe in my fave pokemon boy I will say that he sent Leon to ANOTHER DIMENSION

If anyone remembers, throughout his journey Ash was not just the "all in or nothing" battler, he also used strategy and cunning as he progressed through the seasons. (Sure, there were flukes and lucky hits here and there) Aside from Charizard being the only disobedient one when it evolved, Ash and every Pokémon he owned grew and learned from each battle!

@@byteshothunter2381More often than not if he dosen't directly battle the gym, he does still put in the work to prove himself. Like earning the Water Badge by battling Misty and beating Team Rocket or earning the Rainbow Badge by helping put out a fire in the gym. He also got the Marsh Badge by beating Sabrina in a battle of wills.
I woild say the only badge he actually won without adequate effort was the Earth Badge and he still had to fight Team Rocket using Giovani's pokemon beforehand.
His tactical ball switch could make Cynthia looked at him in awe. Given on she's technically his master

Only thing I still want from my childhood is a fully animated mystery dungeon series. I remember on cartoon network for like 1 week every year they'd air the mystery dungeon episodes and I'd always watch them hoping for a new episode to continue the story.

Seriously Leon's Cinderace was literally immune to ash's Pikachus electric moves and they made eternitus make an appearance to give them one more gmax so that Pikachu can one shot cinderace which otherwise would've moped the floor with Pikachu

Ash's Pikachu wouldn't have light ball, that's the item for Red's Pikachu. It would have the z-crystal for 10,000,000 volt thunderbolt and he would G-max Gengar.
That Pikachu has the Lightball boost without using it the proof is that it has volt tackle

@stephanheafey6006 this is false. Season one he was given a thunder stone to try and evolve Pikachu to battle surge but Pikachu refused. I grew up with pokemon ash never had a light ball given to him.

To say this was his journeys team, all of his other pokemon at Oak's lab or wherever else are still available for use in additon to this champion team. Pokemon from his previous travels rarely get the screentime.

Since most Mega evolution dex entries mention the Pokémon going through a ton of pain during mega evolutions, make a mega mon take the equivalent of toxic damage every turn. This would make going mega a gamble that you would only resort to in dire situations
Mega aren't even that op some of them were actually nerfs like mega garchomp losseing speed making it slower then moms it base firm could oneshot before they could one shot him. Also both z moves and d maxing got huge bans or restixtion put on them dmax got banned for singles, z moves banned Almost all of signature zmoves. Mean while only 9 out of 45 megas got banned (techicanlly 5 since blazakin, mewtwo and requaza base forms got banned.) So 20% mega banned, almost 50% of zmoves and 100% of d maxing. Mega was least op one

Dude has a Dracovish with Fishious Rend. That's already worthy for S+ tier despite the remaining team.
And while Mega Lucario is an amazing Mega choice, in Gen 9, Gengar gained encore. That makes Mega Gengar obnoxiously strong. So if Ash had a Gengarite, he'd be S+++ tier.

Now he just needs to acquire a Tera Orb. I do wish a future game would let us do Masters 8-style “use one gimmick per battle” fights, concluding with the completely crazy “use all mechanics once” fight.

Well Megas are in PLA, SwSh, and SV just never made accessable without save editing meaning Megas were never actually supposed to leave, they just never had a good opertunity to come back so it's possible that they return like that in the DLC
1. Dynamax Competitive Online was very balenced and Megas would've ruined that since the base game hadn't been balenced with Megas in mind
2. PL:A's battles were so short that the Mega animation would've been longer than most. There also wouldn't be anyone in universe that knows of the Stones existence much less someone that would sell you a keystone.
3. Scarlet Violet has all of the megas in the code, just like how SwSh had all of the mega stones fully coded and PL:A had Mega Charizard Y fully coded
