If you want to build your own tool caddy, I released a set of plans available on my website. kuffyswoodwork.com/product/tool-caddy-plans/ Stay safe, stay away from others, and have fun in your workshops being awesome 👍
Nicely done, emphasis on the"nicely"! If I had one of those, I would want to have it on display...maybe on my kitchen counter as a knife/scissors holder!
You won't want to blink for my next video. Someone challenged me to do it in 3 minutes or less, and wow was she unhappy about it! oh wait...I'm thinking of something else. But yeah next vid..don't blink or you'll miss it 😂
Thanks Tony. This does seem like a pretty basic thing that I have overlooked all of my career. The more I think about it, the more potential for improved work flow it reveals!
Thanks David. I get a kick out of my bench every time I need to do basic tasks like hold something firmly in a vice. The bench is rock solid, and the vice is even better, zero slippage ftw :D
Hey Kuffy, I wonder if the water from the glue will activate the super glue? Very interesting project man. I love the shape and functionality. Well made video too 👍
There are a few things which activate super glue. Glen 20 is one, but I found them to be unreliable. I've never tried, or noticed water working to activate CA glues. I'll test it some time
Kuffys Woodwork from what I understand, the ‘activator’ is nothing but water. Super glue sticks so well to human skin due to the water we have in our bodies. Personally, when I use super glue, I’ve sprayed a little water and it seems to work fine. I’m no expert, it’s just from the little bit of internet information I’ve randomly collected on the internet, so take that how you may. If activator really is just water, I would think allowing it to come close enough to the glue as you squeezed the boards together would start the hardening process. Regardless, I enjoyed seeing you use it. It’s much better than my method of hot glue and wood glue.
Turned out fantastic and how good did those red gum handles and front strip look after finish was put on, might have to reassess my crappy plywood tool holding trays now 😒😢😢
Cheers mate. I probably need to buff the bits of Redgum. Currently they only have a couple coats of satin poly which muddys the surface a lot. A bit of auto polish should go a long way.
Oh yeah! Love it Kuffy, the handles were the perfect finishing touch. It's been a week... have you managed to keep your tools in their appropriate slots?! 😁
All of the tools are where they should be. I haven't actually done any tool work all week. Just finishing off some past projects, taking photos, and doing a lot of work at the computer
@@kuffyswoodwork I didn't want to appear negative but I was thinking of not having a base (except at the front till) to allow dust to fall through. In a humid climate dust clinging to metal is excellent if your aiming for rust.
No base was my plan originally, but the marking gauges and rulers are quite long so I would need make it much taller, or block off those particular slots. I'll see how it goes, but I don't have much of a problem with my tools rusting
I do not have a video discussing the Fritz and Franz jig. I first saw the jig a couple of years ago, but by that time I had already been using panel saws for more than 18 years and I just couldn't grasp the usefulness of the jig. It seemed like an awkward thing to use just to keep hands away from the blade. With my initial impression being pretty poor, I haven't given it any further thought.
Thanks for the great video. It’s the first time I have seen you work and I am impressed. What kind of saw is that you use? I’m trying to figure out how I want to build a caddy myself. I think that I want multiple smaller ones but I haven’t decided yet exactly what I want. I think I want one for joint making but there are times that use some of the tools for other projects too. I like that you caddy is easy to get the tool and easy to put it back.
Hi Don. My saw is a Chinese built sliding panel saw. It can cut full 8x4' sheets. Since making my tool caddy, my workbench has remained clear of tool clutter. I just need to figure out how to keep my bench clear of work pieces 😂
Great video however I am curious. My 'activater' goes off at 7.30 am. Your 'activater ' goes off with PVA glue. What is the activater that you are using? Cheers John
The activator/accelerator is Zap kicker. I put PVA glue on part of the work piece, and CA glue on the parts that the PVA missed. I would think that by combining the two glues, there will be some adverse effect's, but it'll be strong enough regardless.
Another nice build and a great idea. I bought a set of plans in appreciation for the videos you put out. Man you put some work into those plans. Is that a Mirca sander your using around 11:00 and if so have you had any issues with it
Awesome, thank you very much. Yes, my sander is a MIrka Ceros. It's a great sander. I've owned it for about 4 years and it has never given me any issues. Even the hooks on the interface pad still grip the sanding discs more than well enough. I bought it to replace a Milwaukee sander which vibrates something vicious leaving me with a weird sensation in my forearms for the rest of the evening. I'm told this sensation is something of a genuine concern in the long term.
Are you just one tough Dude??? Working in Shorts. We have brass monkeys running around here in Perth. OR.. is the workshop heated :) . Nice little project.
Lol. I did have a jumper on and we were in double digit temps most days. Though at work, we start at 6:30am, and on a cold frosty day, the packs of timber are literally covered in ice. That's when I get cold legs...because I don't actually have a single pair of work pants. 😂
I have a tool box which is basically just a bucket. The toolbox holds my tools for other trades, electrical, plumbing, mechanical etc. I wouldn't dare put sharp chisels or measuring tools in there and expect them to come out as good as they went in

Great for everyone who has $100,000 to spend on equipment. Made mine with a circular saw , sanding block, and a speed sq.
Awesome. I'm glad you were able to make what you wanted using the tools and materials you have available.
Nicely done, emphasis on the"nicely"! If I had one of those, I would want to have it on display...maybe on my kitchen counter as a knife/scissors holder!
I've thought about it as a knife block. Perhaps one day I'll revisit the idea and make in a similar style, though smaller and taller
This is a brilliant design. Thanks for sharing your work.
Thanks Sean
Cool design Kuffy 👍👏. As Rob T said below, a space for a sandwich is all thats missing 😅
Heh, thanks mate😂 👍
Welcome to the Dark Side Kuffmeister ☠️, nice to see you make things that I can follow along with 🧐🤓, as always keep up doing what you do 🎥🎥🔨🔨👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺

Great project, that table saw is a near piece of kit!
Thanks mate. My saw is a bit of a luxury, well worth the second mortgage on my house 🤣
Awesome idea! The smallest details makes the biggest differences sometimes!
Thanks Tony. This does seem like a pretty basic thing that I have overlooked all of my career. The more I think about it, the more potential for improved work flow it reveals!
How good's that!? Added to the list!
This thing is better than sliced bread 🤣
Fantastic job and video thanks for sharing your time and skill and remember#stay safe and make. 🍺🍺👍👍
Thanks for tuning in 👍
Really like this design
Thanks mate
When can I come over and collect my one? Great job as usual.
You can come and collect it whenever you like. I built yours as a flat pack though, some assembly required 😂
Nice job on the plans. I purchased them as I need this to deal with the same issue. Don't like a tool tray on the bench!
It certainly solved the problem of having tools all over my bench very nicely. It's one of those "wish I did it 20 years ago" type things :D
Good idea to have a tool caddy and it worked out well. It must be nice being able to do projects on your new bench. Thanks for the vid. Cheers, David
Thanks David. I get a kick out of my bench every time I need to do basic tasks like hold something firmly in a vice. The bench is rock solid, and the vice is even better, zero slippage ftw :D
Awesome build
Thanks. My caddy has been coming in really handy lately 👍
Very nice looks great
Thank you! Cheers!
Cool idea! looks like you could fit some handsaw tills in the space between those splayed tool holders.
I have a flush trim saw in the caddy. I think my other handsaws would be a little too tall. Worth considering though

Nice. I'll test it this evening. Hopefully it works because water is cheaper than activator 🤣
Top Notch mate!
Thanks Greg

Nice little project done really well mate and you’ve got some awesome tools there too
Thanks Dave. Only a few tools, but they do most of the hard work for me.

I have my own version of bench top caddy but your splayed design is really clever, so clever that mine is going to have to take early retirement.
Hehe, thanks. I think mine may end up filling with dust, but everything fills with dust anyways 🤣
@@kuffyswoodwork I didn't want to appear negative but I was thinking of not having a base (except at the front till) to allow dust to fall through. In a humid climate dust clinging to metal is excellent if your aiming for rust.

Good job, love the shop infrastructure vids
Thanks Des
I have to make all my wood work with my awesome craftsman hand miter saw
Perhaps this is an opportunity to acquire more tools 😂
Very nice caddy and another well instructed build video, Kuffy. Thanks
Thanks for your continued support Steve 👍
@Kuffy Do you have any opinion on the Ffritz an Franz jig? or maybe your video take on a build?

Enjoyed watching you build that tool holder. Liked and subscribed
Thanks mate 👍
Hey Kuffy. Very nice indeed. Well done :)
Thanks Ivan.
That's really neat that thing! You forgot to add a space for a sandwich though 🥪
Ha! As if a sandwich has a chance of being put down for even a moment. 🥙🌭🍞
@@kuffyswoodwork ha! true dat 🤣
Nice one mate, how good is that panel saw but...
The panel saw is awesome, but nothing 😂

Your work bench is nicer than my dining room table ! what the hell is going on here !
My bench is nicer than my own dining table. My priorities start and finish in the garage 🤣

You use a lot of tas oak is it cheap in melbourne
It's not cheap, but it is probably the cheapest hardwood available down here. We use Tas oak/Vic ash as our F17 structural hardwood.
Do you call it a hedgehog caddy?
Lol. I wish I did 😂😂😂
Yes but a bucket does the same job 🤣😂
