- I needed a new marking knife, with a smaller blade for getting into tight spots such as between dovetails. I'm no professional and I don't have anything to teach, this is just me, sharing my thoughts and my work. Join me as I'm learning fine woodworking!

(For the old marking knife.)
Great job, dude! 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Thanks haha
Love the use of the wood wedge to get your bevel right. I made a marking knife out of some steel I had. To harden it I built a fire in the fireplace and used a leaf blower to heat it up. Then I dipped the knife in canola oil. I think I even used my oven to finish the hardening process. It works great.
2:04 looks like pigeons have been sitting on your vise.🤪
If I remember correctly, dovtails with a saw curf width are called 'London Pattern'
I've heard that too. Not always practical but looks so refined!
8:00 You could harden a blade like that in a charcoal grill; just blow some air into it with a hairdryer or hot air gun and it will get to temperature. But as you say, a marking knife will not get stressed as much as other cutting tools anyway. Well done!
Cool, that's good to know! Thanks!
Very good
Want to sell it?
Sorry, I need it! But thank you very much for the interest!
Gillis Björk I had to try 😁
I'll definitely try making it sir
Nice!!! Well done!
Thanks for sharing that
Very, very fine marking knife! Now you need some Kolrosing for your new tool😉
Thank you August! That's a bit beyond my skill I believe but something to shoot for, for sure haha
