This episode of WCW Blunder looks at the many times Sting has been betrayed in World Championship Wrestling. From The Road Warriors to Ric Flair, from Bret Hart to Miss Elizabeth; even the WCW Executive Committee have turned their backs on Sting. This video covers each and every one of these betrayals while asking an important question; why did Sting remain so trustworthy?
#WCW #Sting #NWO Спорт
Everyone turned on sting apart from Darby and I think Robocop. I even turned on him and I'm not even a wrestler
Sting turned on himself a few times
You had the heel turn of the century. Only within your own home of course.
His own facepaint turned on sting! Look how many times changed it lol.
My Uncle Turned On Sting Back In 97
Hell I even turned on him
In wcw and I wasn’t even born yet
This season deserves an episode covering the various “That Doesn’t Work For Me Brother” moments.
Episode ? More like series…
When you’re bored at work and check to see if there’s a new Wrestling Bios video, but there isn’t…. then like 30 seconds later you get a notification from RUclips saying there’s a new Wrestling Bios video. Thank you sir.
For the win!!
Damn I did the same thing
That’s so real life. Tuesday Thursday and Sunday I always check
You can watch wrestling bios at work! I hope you count your blessings 😅
Hahaha, amen!!! Cheers from Charleston, SC
"the only people sting could trust were referees"
well...
😂😂😂😂
"Why does everyone betray me!? I'm fed up with this world!" - Sting, probably.
Oh, hi Mark (Callaway)!
Why Luger, WHY?!
YOU'RE TEARING ME APART, HOGAN!!!
"How's your sexlife, Vince?"
Oh. Hi marks.
Twenty one straight minutes of Sting being the exact opposite of "DTA" Stone Cold Steve Austin.
JTE: Just Trust Everyone
Sting probably
You aren't wrong. But also, it's commendable that his convictions in what kind of guy he was gonna be ran so deep. In that regard sting and Austin are exactly the same.
A. T. E. you thoughtful potential friend! Always trust everybody!
Sting never beat his wife either
@@kongmengyang1098😂😂😂
No wonder Sting doesn't look in the mirror. He can't even trust his reflection because his own reflection might turn on him and betray him
The biggest betrayal of Sting ever took place in real life when he finally joined WWE and was shafted, just like everyone had for years feared he would be.
The biggest betrayal was his tan at Starrcade 97.
Idk why they thought he should be tan. He was supposed to be The Crow lol
@@loboneiner1034Exactly!
@@loboneiner1034Because that doesn’t work for me, brother !
Without doubt the single worst reason ever given for why someone wasn’t given a win, I’ve always wished that Bischoff would just tell the truth and admit Hogan didn’t want to drop the title and used his creative control in order to not do so
@@My19812011clean win. The ‘win’ was gonna happen with Brett’s assistance but the slow/regular/fast count was at issue….because of the stupid tan. If it’s not a fast count it simply doesn’t work or make sense.
Just a reminder, robocop never turned on sting!
Robocop has integrity!
Haa, I buy that 4 a dollar!
It's not in his prime directives.
Would've been pretty funny if he did though, tbh. Like if somebody hacked into him or something.
Sting was scared of wwe misusing him but WCW and hulk hogan made him look like a fool for years
He was right though 😅
To be fair, Sting was right in the end. And yeah, that wasn't going to work for Hogan brother!
@@SoldierChrisPS?
The Medusa Sting betrayal was a rare really HOT WCW moment, she came off sexy AF in that angle more than ever.
So here's something interesting I realized by watching all this time: back in 1995, Hogan was telling Sting Luger couldn't be trusted and now in the timeline in 1999, we have Luger telling Sting Hogan can't be trusted. It was like creative wrote continuity without knowing. Typical WCW.
Dunno about you, but that Halloween Havoc 1995 betrayal always made me laugh, if only for Ric Flair’s little strut after getting tagged in before he punched Sting. It’s supposed to be a devastating heel moment, but it’s just so funny.
Sting. Probably the only wrestler who has been betrayed more times than Rey Mysterio.
I would put Kane up there too. Paul Bearer, Chyna, X-Pac, Tori, LIta...
@@user-vr7bs3ud1e Undertaker , Seth Rollins, as well as the Shield
Rey Mysterio is still active. He might break that record.
Someone should do an analysis video on who's truly the most gullable wrestler. I think Sting redeemed himself with his AEW run while Rey was stupid enough to get betrayed by his own son and Carlito as recent as this year.
@@HCHaven7619oh hes gonna break that record lmao
@8:00 what i remember about flair/sting vs arn/pillman. years before russo's arrival, sting says in a promo "ric, dont swerve me."
Words said moments before disaster. 😂
sting was betrayed so many times. after a while it made sting look like an idiot.
😱
Rey Mysterio is catching up....
Sting is an idiot
Even when he could sense a betrayal (like with Flair in 95 when he warned him he would end him if he double crossed him)
promise at the time, i was a kid & didn't care... IT WAS & IT'S STING!!
Sting has seen so many heel turns he could open a shoe store
Darby Allin is automatically the greatest friend Sting has ever had becuase he's the only one who never betrayed him.
His ladder and glass spot was a big betrayal.
@@Former_Employee that makes no sense but ok.
Its honestly suprising he didnt get betrayed by robocop!
Robocop is the most moral being in the world also I doubt Robocop could turn at all in that suit.
Luger slapping hands when Sting was watching, and ignoring fans with a look of disgust when he wasn't, was GOLD.
It’s was the best storyline of early 1996 WcW. I wonder what the pay off was supposed to be before the NWO, since that was basically a soft reboot
I rewatched that recently, and laughed my ass off when I saw it.
Nature Boy, Slick Ric. We go way back, don't we Ric. How many times in the past did you lure me in, only to stab me in the back...
@wrestlingbios could make a video on how many times Flair has turned on Sting
How about every time Mongo and Jarrett had a fallout or a match to finally end their rivalry?
It felt like that went on for an eternity.
You forgot Vampiro after the reset of WCW in 2000
Steve Austin getting arrested.
Ric Flair losing in red tights and boots.
Sting getting betrayed.
Those old Chestnuts
Big Show/Giant constantly turning face and heel
I don't know why Bret even betrayed Sting in story line, Makes no sense.
They were wrestling the same guy, same sides.
Wait.. Nevermind, I know why
"That doesn't work for me brother"
Sting, Dusty Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer are the most gullible wrestlers ever. They have all been turned on by many.
Don’t forget that deadbeat dad Rey Mysterio
@@SJT929496 Aw yes, he has joined the club
sting wasnt the scorpion, he was the frog
"Ribbit" just doesn't hit the same for a ring name, though
@andyk.9821 Now I can hear Tony Schiavone yelling "IT'S RIBIIIIIIIIIIT!" in my head now
Well played. Well played...
In those days surprisingly WCW or WWF/E didn't try that
You should make a video on how both WCW and WWF botched the booking of The Giant / Big Show during the Monday Night Wars.
It’s what’s so dumb about where we currently are in reliving the war.
If ever there was a wrestler who deserved to get revenge on a few of his enemies: its sting. Even in 99, just half decent booking and you’ve got a few months of storyline!
How about the many Blunders in booking Bret Hart in WCW?
Hmmmm 🤔 the Giant/Big Show flipping between being a face/heel very often in WCW…..
Vince took notes
6:24 Man, I remember seeing that dive live on TV and hoping Sherri wasn't dead!!
Sting is an eternal optimist. He always believes and trusts in the goodness of people.
The Ketchup Sting NWO turn was Sting betraying himself. 'Hey guys no no wait I'm cool too guys!' Major blunder point in my book, like a reject hitting himself in the face with a frying pan to make the other guys laugh.
Hey this guy's got a point! Even Sting thought he was a bitch and turned... on himself!
I would suggest The many ideas of jim herd, between the ding dongs and arachnoman, to running flair out of wcw
OMG dropped 1 minute ago?! That's some Jam-up timing!
WCW blunder idea: every "That doesn't work for me, brother."
33 years old.. was a football guy, never even liked wrestling except for the ps1/n64 games... but ive been fascinated the last 3 weeks since i found wrestling youtube. im hooked.
To be fair, I'd bet on even a 1% chance that Madusa or Sherri were actually on my side, too.
Will always remember watching Sting in mid 90s until the death of wcw, one of my favorite wrestler as a kid.
Same here, bruh. I loved Sting as a wrestler and loved WCW as a company.
Finally some hardcore WCW fans. I too stuck with the company every Monday and Thursday, even though I knew it was going very, very poorly.
Cheers fellas!
Who are you to doubt El Dandy
Sting has seen so many heel turns he could open a shoe store. Someone check on Steve Borden.
Wrestling Bios really the goat of wrestling RUclips. Clear #1 right now
He is.
You gotta give him one point for receiving a hit with the bat on his face and leaving the ring with all his teeth. Because of couse we all know that it was a real bat, right?
Discovered this channel a couple years ago… definitely one of my favorite channels
Wrestling bios to the rescue of another boring day!!!!
See the multiple turns of Paul Wight started back in WCW
Damn shame Sting couldnt get advice from a certain texas rattlesnake...might of not been backstabbed so much...but I suppose that would invovle crossing enemy lines
I don't think sting had any desire to be anyone but who he was. No matter what anyone did to him. Same as austin.
Sting's track record with friends reminds me of my life.
Thanks bios, the true living legend. ( Apologies to Zybysko).
I unironically actually love the President Flair storyline. It’s one of the few storylines I can recall from memory watching it live when it all happened besides the nwo and Goldberg runs.
The many heel and face turns of The Giant in WCW
I love you channel brother, your excellent commentary and humor give wrestling perspective an adorable vibe that I can watch anytime anywhere 👍
Wrestling Bios videos have become appointment viewing for me
Nick Patrick looks like Kenny Powers from eastbound and down
Thank you Ryan @wrestlingbios for doing this awesome research on historical Sting storylines!
Finally, Starcade 88' getting some spotlight!
It's probably THE formative wrestling event (I watched it on tape a short time after it aired live) of my young life... I was 7 years old.
And and excellent show, to boot!
Definitely my first exposure to Sting... along with Luger, Flair, Rotunda, The Stieners, The Road Warriors, and so many more.
The beginning of a lifelong fandom!
Blunder is becoming my favorite WB miniseries.😊
Sting was the Goku of wrestling 😂
Excellent video! Looks like Ramdy Anderson was trying to save Sting from an exploding ring...
just gotta say i love ur videos
No wonder Sting turned dark. In the words of Paulie Walnuts 'How much betrayal could he take?'
20:11 Just pause it there and leave it for all time!
Up next WWE Blunder: Big Show Heel/Face turns
Man Miss Elizabeth got thick in the WCW days
Sting got stung so many times that his stinger didn’t even sting
After watching this even more so then reliving the war im on his side with his 99 heel turn good on him saying enough is enough no more mr nice guy
Love these
Rey Mysterio is carrying on that "let's betray Sting" legacy
I don’t know if this was talked about in here but a Blunder episode on Sting’s heel turn in 1999 sounds good
Sting is a true Babyface.
Awesome, thank you!
1:06… I had both of those stuffed Sting & DDP. I used to do wrestling moves on them on my trampoline! 😂
Loved those things!
sting should've had a t-shirt that said betray me lol awesome episode of WCW blunder.
Thank you for honestly talking wrestling
Looks like I've come early, great for Bios vids, not for the missus
You could always conduct some Horsemen Business afterward.
Usually spend the day with my Biker Michael Likers
Could anybody tell me what was up with Sting's makeup? Why did it always fail? By contrast, the Road Warriors never had this problem. Also, EXCELLENT VIDEO Ryan.
I forgot to make this comment on your Fall Brawl 1999 review. When Sting used the baseball bat to beat Hogan for the championship. JJ Dillon had the nerve to call Stings actions despicable after what JJ and the 4 Horsemen did to Sting and several others
Best channel ever
Definitely need one of these for John Cena too, always trusting Big Show no matter how many times it happened...
I KNOW this is extreme... But, thinking about the day when this series ends, reminds me of death. It makes my heart skip and sink anytime i think about it. Can't thank you and this awesome community enough for all the hours and hours of entertainment and the most positive comment section if had the pleasure of seeing. I'm a Wrestling Bio's guy for life!!!
Oh Yeah! Love this episode. DIG IT!
I watched STING since 1986. My 1st man on my mount rushmore and my GOAT...only undertaker comes marginally close. He got fooked over a lot in his career...some his doings but majority not. His short lived tenure in wwe upset me a lot...he has said himself in umpteen interviews that he doesn't blame seth rollins but I beg to differ. Anyways he didn't let that shizell stop him and did great things in AEW...he projected Darby Allins career to more than he expected himself...KUDOS KUDOS KUDOS
I got two the Cruiserweight Divisions booking from late 99-mid 00 and the WCW Championship in the year 2000.
Hey babe, there’s a new Wrestling Bios out today!
5:12 - the biggest shock of this entire video is that this haircut has just about come full circle and become popular again, at least here in New Zealand. See the All Blacks, and every schoolboy who supports them.
As an 80's Kid...
I Had STING's "RooS" ZipperPocketShoes.
(They Were White with Black&Pink Sting FacePaintPattern)
Sting landing like that on his knees after that doomsday device around 2:35 is insane.
That hurt to watch.
@@damiennightcro right? I know it's not just direct knees onto a hard surface, but there's no way he didn't feel that landing from that height and he's pretty heavy to begin with.
So Paul Wight pretty much made a luving of turning Face and Heel at the drop of a dime regardless whether it was WWE or WCW.
As for Sting. Hopefully he was there to console Rey every time he got betrayed.
Man, I absolutely love that halloween havoc 95 turn.
Also, most of these blunder episodes are filled with horrific wcw booking. It's refreshing to see mostly solid wcw stuff.
He's a man called Sting.....and he falls for everything.
I’ve had so much drink right now, can ah boy dream?
We need a bonus blunder video that is for WWE and it’s all Big Show face/heel turns
Technically Abdullah The Butcher was Sting's tag team partner at _Starrcade '91: Battlebowl The Lethal Lottery_ against Brian Pillman and Bobby Eaton and Abdullah turned on Sting during the match...
Thank you sir..
ITS STTTTTTTIIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGG!!!!!
All Sting ever wanted was to love and be loved.
It’s actually heartwarming that Sting never stopped believing in the power of love. It might have taken a few decades, but he finally found the one whom would never betray him (Darby Allin). True love conquers all! ❤❤❤
(And thankfully - due to retirement - nobody can ever book Allin to betray Sting… I hope. 😅)
The Blunder we all want and all need is Jim Herd 🤣
Have you done a video of the many heel/face turns of Paul White?
