It’s not part of the balancing act! The contestants are penalised as they have to press a buzzer and then wait for their name to be called out before they answer. It all adds up and they received far fewer questions. That’s why individual contestants who are good are usually favourites to win.

0:39 seconds. The largest country in Africa (BY AREA) is ALGERIA and not SUDAN.
    TOP 3:
    1. ALGERIA = 2.382 MILLION km2
    2. Congo = 2.344 MILLION km2
    3. Sudan = 1.862 MILLION km2
The largest countrIes in Africa (BY POPULATION):
    1. Nigeria = 223,804,632 million people
    2. Ethiopia = 126,527,060 million people
    3. Egypt = 111,942,661 million people
SO, THE ANSWER, SUDAN, IS INCORRECT!!!!!!!

No, the questions are just longer nowadays, and the chasers take their time more.

Because she answered those 7 in 30 seconds so it was her fastest. She was on course for 28 over the 2 mins.
