Wow this is by far the BEST video on RUclips you answered and hit all the key answers for us stupid newbies just learning this new hobby thank you Sir. I couldn’t find information that you hit on about the smell of sulfate. you now have a new subscriber and thank you.
Use a battery extender when not RVing, especially during the winter months. It's well worth the small $$ investment, and superior to nearly any wall charger. Never too much or too little charging, just perfect.
One of the biggest things I didnt hear on here is that you always need to get a battery at double the ah of what you need and always try to keep it from going under 50% charge or it significantly reduces the life. Car batteries can be completely drained without as much damage but deep cycle shouldn't reach under 50% if at all possible.
I enjoy the videos and details you provide. I remove my deep cycle lead acid batter from my trailer after each trip and keep it on a trickle charge. Are trickle chargers ok at 1.5-2A? I also store the battery on a plastic matt vs the concrete floor.
Are you available on Rumble? I hate to lose access to your videos as they are informative and well done, but I am moving away from the platforms that are set on censoring information. If you are, please let me know as I'd like to follow you there.
I see all you guys give the proper way to organize the battery bank but the truth is you guys need to put solar panel diodes or battery isolators between each battery because even 1 weak cell and the balance of the system gets thrown off,,,Its expensive but the only way to properly recharge and not overcook r/v batteries or inverters as when you turn an inverter off its supposed to stop reverse voltage flow but after the vehicle is jumpstarted wrong the diode fails and should be used as a redundancy not a defense......... First thing to know is ABOUT FLYBACK!!!..Its more deadly than you realize for electronics and solis state devices....Recall city here we come......!!!!!!!!!!!! Flyback has an effect on switch panels too look up switchpanel diodes they sell at Jegs. You must totally protect the whole RV from Flyback...Look it up..You heard it first from The Godfather to Understanding Flyback & The Way It Afflicts Vehicles..Take care

Best presentation I’ve seen
I've been with you and have bought your videos for ten years I've learned a lot thank you
Great information, thank you
GREAT content and presentation. Thank you.
If you only take your rv out 3 or 4 times a year should you keep it on a trickle charger all the time when not in use ?

thanks for the tips...my battery died out at 3am. I had no idea about the maintenance
Thanks
Thanks for this info!
Question: Except for "more expensive," don't flooded lead acid batteries also share those cons mentioned around 6:30?
Yes, "more expensive" and lead acid batteries can be charged in hot and cold temperatures without necessarily damaging the battery.
Good stuff
Some good information
Smart dude
Great topic
