RV Masters What kind of trailer do you own just out of curiosity?
I tried to open those downloads but got an error message. This video is a couple of years old now, is there an updated list? Thanks

Been RV'ing for 24 years and this is the best information I have EVER seen!
Sooooo true! Im a newb and looking for info. Love this gentleman!
A better idea for Step one: DO NOT buy the accessories at the dealer. Order them to save a LOT of money.
Our dealer threw in a $500 gift card as a military bonus. We got the majority of items we needed using that.
Remember, he's a salesman
Exactly what I was going to say.
How can you not smile and get excited about an rv watching this guy? Great videos thank you for the info
Could have called customers stupid idiots and unrealistic but you didn't. Your restraint is appreciated. And anyone who has worked in sales or service with general public knows there are plenty of face palm stories behind those endless smiles.

My wife and I are looking at getting a new trailer. This will be our first time owning one. Thanks for the video
Just finished his Class A class - invaluable. Buy it. He was calming, informative, and it was well worth the investment. I CAN'T WAIT to pick up my motorhome!!!!! Seriously. Can. Not. WAIT. Thank you, Mr David.
Man you’re great at explaining things. I’m a new full timer with a 2018 keystone Springdale. This video is so helpful. Thanks!
That is what we purchased in November!!!
Matt Burch We bought ours four and a half years ago. Two things... Get a cover, and our tires max pressure is 50 lbs. This is what the sticker calls for on the side of the trailer. So, you check and inflate your tires cold. Once you get your rig rolling down a hot highway, at freeway speeds, tire pressure is no longer 50, and you are over the max pressure of the tire.
This video is very informative for the First time buyers, a simple checklist that people forget on a walk through when purchasing an R.V. ( not a House, boat or car/truck)
before you turn on the propane outside make sure your cooktop burners(if so equipped) are off, open a window or vent and make sure the propane detector is plugged in and tested.
This guy's ok! He's hilarious! Also sound and substantial advice.
@Chef Mime no, there's only so much that can be covered in less than 20 minutes, and what he covered is sound advice. A person can't watch only this video and think they have it all.
Man you ought to be very proud of the fantastic job you did on this video!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I are about to buy our first camp trailer! Woohoo! And I have been watching your videos! Thank you!! We are both young and we don't know how to care for a travel trailer so we are researching as much as possible before buying. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS! You have 2 new fans of your channel! Thank you again! -Rebecca
Thanks! I'm so glad you're getting value from it! There's so much to know when getting into RV'ing! Good luck and I hope you love it!
Excellent video, thanks for caring and sharing. Appreciate your sincerity. Keep em coming. God Bless you and your family, happy and safe RVing 🙏
I noticed the “Wilkins RV, Bath, NY” sticker on the back of the RV, lol. Our daughter used to work for them back when they were still located in Hornell, NY, and lived next door to Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins which was right up the street. Too funny 😄
BTW...you are a real pleasure to listen to...and full of great tips :)
I found this video to be very helpful. I plan on purchasing my very first travel trailer this coming spring of 2019. So I’m trying turn learn as much as I can prior to my purchase. I shall refer back to this video following my purchase.
This is great! My husband and I are looking at taking the dive. This video has made me feel so much more confident that I can do this!! Love your enthusiasm and the fact that it’s coming from an experienced RV’er is great!! Thank you so much
Thanks for the compliment! Remember, the is only ONE of many videos that are included in my Starter Orientation for trailers... check it out at rvmasters.com! I also have a Buyers Track if you haven't already purchased one - it's everything you need to know about buying - from finding the right one to actually saving money buying it. Good luck with your journey!
Watch the video for getting repairs under warranty. We bought a Jayco 317 RLOK on Aug. 31 2018 from Boyer Trailer Sales in Erie PA. Towed the unit less than 70 miles to our home and did a "punch list". Returned the trailer on Sept. 13, 2018. Trailer is still sitting at Boyer's who say repairs may not be accomplished for another 30 day and Jayco is at fault so "I" need to call Jayco. Called Jayco on Oct. 22, 2018 but they couldn't give me information, other than the repairs were approved. I would need a repair number from Boyer's if I wanted additional information. One repair remains which has been approved for a nine hour job. Jayco is less than 2 days shipping from Erie, PA and the repair was approved by Jayco, (according to Boyer's initial warranty repair response) on Oct 2, 2018. Did I mention questioning Boyer's why I should be calling Jayco and shouldn't they be calling, I was told by Nick Boyer "he" was doing "me" a favor fixing a brand new trailer Boyer's sold me. BTW, Nick also informed me there is no "lemon law" regarding any RV. No, I have not heard a response as of Oct. 22.
Update: Having placed two calls to Boyer's on 10/30/18 , the first to Nick only having to leave a message he return my call and the second to Josh in service, I learned our RV is scheduled to enter a service bay on 10/31/18 for the needed service and we can expect to to have it returned in 1 to 2 weeks. We also learned an additional 3 hours has been approved for the repair making for 12 hours total man hours.
I should like to mention Josh has been most gracious in assisting my wife and I with the needed service. Josh certainly has a job you couldn't pay me enough to do. Though we've thanked Josh I wish to say thanks again for his help.
As for the return call from Nick we're still waiting.

TrailerTruckingVacation wow! I’m so sorry you’re having such a tough time of it. We will definitely be keeping this info in mind. Thank you for looking out for others. I had heard about the no lemon law but that’s ridiculous attitude. I don’t think I’ll be going with Boyer.
@@1380beagle Thanks for the flowers. Definitely a let down for sure. Dont know if you saw my update but we did hear from Boyer's on 10/30/18 (actually I called Nick but had to call and talk to Josh in service) Our RV was scheduled to enter the service bay on 10/31/18 for the need service which could take 1 to 2 weeks.
BTW. I had to leave a message with Nick Boyer asking he return my call and I'm still waiting.
Once again thanks for your response we appreciate it.

Driveway camp! Cannot stress it enough. Use everything before you camp for real. Don't get 100-200 miles away from home and find out something doesn't work... Or find out you don't know how to use it.
Check those seals. All the time. Found two cracks this past weekend. We always carry sealant, RV tape, etc with us.
How involved is fixing cracked seals?
We driveway camp all the time..it is really fun!! we watch movies, listen to Jazz, and generally enjoy our time in the trailer...even if we are at home!! It lets us get to know the workings , and is really a learning experience ...Note : all those led warning lights ,and the microwave time etc etc are quite bright at 3 in the morning!!
SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM ,
My dealer was awesome. We did a PDI together with everything. We tested the air-conditioner, heater and the generator
I agree that these are good tips. I also agree that they should be done before you leave the dealer. This way if you do run into a problem or just have a question about something on whatever list you use, help should be readily available and you will save time and the aggravation of having to pull the trailer bat to the dealer for any questions or repairs.
I like the passion you have for informing rev owners so thank you so much!
When i bought my coach (1 year old) from a dealer, this is what i did. We hammered out a deal and right before signing, i told them i had hired a guy to come and do a PDI. They weren't a fan of me doing this at all!!! This took 25 minutes just for me to be schooled by the dealer they they would inspect it....lol But i didn't care about what they were going to do and ultimately was either willing to walk or just sign my original deal. Bottom line, after the PDI was completed (on the dealers lot by a professional i had hired) I was able to negotiate another $11k off our previous negotiated deal to cover the repairs!
❤️❤️❤️
Money well invested
Great tips! Thanks for making this informative series!
Love your series. Very very good, complete and slow.
wonderful demo....all new RV folks should have watch this
You,Sir, are truly a master of your craft! Your chanel name was aptly selected!
Really good info for us beginners. We are purchasing our first RV this June and I found this an amazing source of information. Sad that know-it-alls think this video is not very good.
Thank you! I need to go check my seals now, bye!
I have to say i got more information from you than anyone else on RUclips. Thank you . I will be buying my first travel trailer in may.
That's great - thanks for watching and good luck! Make sure you check out my Buyer's Track series - it is nearly 7 hours of information that will save you money and make sure you pick the perfect RV for you! Available at www.rvmasters.com!
I like the sleep in it step. Just purchased a used 14ft for a specific use. Think sleeping in it and preparing food will reveal some things I need.
David, thank you for this video. Excellent source of info!
These are excellent starter steps, each of these should be performed before leaving the dealership. And whatever you do, Never, Never fire up your water heater until you are sure it is full of water
Also do a walk thru of your unit before you start any of these steps
Ensure the gas knobs are in the off position before starting any of these steps
You are so AWESOME! CHECK YOUR SEALS.. CHECK YOUR SEALS... CHECK YOUR SEALS... YESSSS!!! Thank you for this information. Wow!!!
I'd want to try most of these tests BEFORE I leave the dealer !!
I love this video the most out of the series because of the “Check you Seals!”
I wonder if we should check the seals?
I know these are great things to do when you get your new toy home, but some of these things should be done at the dealership in case something goes wrong! Turn on the gas and check for leaks while you are there! Doing a full "walk around" before you leave would be a good idea, even if you can't do it all, such as water.
My favorite power testing tool is a drill motor.
The best advice are getting a surge protector, checking the seals (check the seals, check the seals, check the seals........) and Sleep In It!!!
Great video! Thanks for creating this, spot on for every point, well done!
Going to pick up this weekend excellent info
I don't have an RV yet but I am going to my car outside right now and check the seals. Hold and behold, after 6 years..I got a broken seal. I subscribed immediately.
the manufacter or the guy on the assembly line put a trashy seal on your car, maybe he was drunk on the job.
Thank you !!! and people ..... he did say, that "this will all be done at your dealer as well," but to check once you are home several times.... .... in the video, thanks again..... very informative.....
You're awesome and a pleasure to listen to...oh and did i mention very good information. Thanks :)
You and your channel are awesome. Newbie here prepping 😁
Do not leave the dealer without doing all these things there. It is their responsibility to make sure your new camper is camping ready.
For the $30k-$100k+ you pay for these you would think you would have everything needed, extension cords, hoses, chocks etc.
Absolutely, don’t sign anything until u do this
@@ozarkliving7263 they just added it to the bill of camper anyways They have was of hiding the cost

I would like to thank u for this video . It's very helpful. I have my camper at my house and it's my getaway . And we use it camping also
Is there a checklist on all this that can be printed out? I'm overwhelmed listening to this. 😱
Great tips and sense of humor
Great information and well presented. Thank you !!
Purchasing my first camper next April, 2020 ,I know nothing about them it's like a pre retirement vacation relaxation, and I know nothing about them I do know it's going to be pre owned, so I'm getting help and instruction from watching videos, thank you so much your like a kid in a candy shop your know your job well, it was fun watching you
Very informative, one of the best RV videos I’ve watched.
Thanks for your excellent videos!
Great video., Thank you for posting. Learned a lot from it and will use as a guide to owning a travel trailer......thanks again
❤️
Really I can not thank you enough for making these videos I’m now getting ready to buy one! Sorry I live to far from you to buy at your location!
Check to see that the water connections are hand tight under all fixtures. Every t8me for a year. They loosen up. Dripping water. Mdf cabinets hate water.
Thank you. Its very informative!
Very helpful, thank you!
Thanks for the advice. Appreciated.
Awesome info , Thank you !
Great tips. Thanks you Very Much !!!
That was a very awesome video. Thank you
Thanks so much, that was a great video.
Great Video. To go from Newbie to competent RV'er will take some time and effort. But as they say, Enjoy the Ride....
I bought my first RV about 25 years ago, I wish I had seen a video like this back then.
Any advice?
Love you video! We’re about to buy our 1st RV. This was very helpfull.
Thanks .
Making my list .
GREAT video!!! Thanks!! I'll make it our new pre check!!!! Alot easier to fix at home than on the ROAD
Very easy to follow. Thanks!
Thank you for making this video! Love it and please check your seals!!!
Check your seals LOL. Best advise to share as very few RV's do not have water issues and the ones that do not show water issues "probably have water issues". I have owned a campground for 20 years and have seen hundreds of RV owners that never even washed their RV, never ever cleaned out the gutters, never ever treated or cleaned the roof and then traded it in or sold it for a hunting camp because it was rotten. RV's need maintenance, RV's need maintenance, RV's need maintenance, did I mention that RV's need maintenance? The old saying "a stitch in time saves nine" should be engraved on the fridge door.
I am sorry, what do RV's need?
@@roberts7107 something about sewing.
Awesome! Very informative
Thank you. Great video! Thank you. I’m buying your training, but just bought a Jayco 25 and I’m broke. 😂😀👍🏾
Great content! Thanks for sharing.
Very informative video ~ thank you for sharing!
great video buddy!
I love it when folks say "hot water heater". It's just a water heater, nothing more. 😆
I think we say it to remind ourselves that its hot lol. 😁
Hot water doesn't need heating, lol
As bad as VIN number. Redundant!
Very informative video, thxs. My favorite oart is "CHECK THE SEALS" , love it. 😜🤣😂
great video, thanks
Did you say check your seals? Lol love that one.
Excellent!!
LOVE IT ! ! !
THANK YOU for taking the time to post this video! I am a newbie and I'm looking on google and RUclips for the correct advise that I need as I do not know anyone to help me with this
Nice explanation, even you want to learn basic electricity lesson. Great.
I actually advise testing the 12v powered items, the slides, the gas, the water lines, the A/C, all that stuff AT the dealership BEFORE you take the rig home. It’s a lot easier and better to just leave it there, if there’s a problem, than bring it back after you get it home. They want it off the lot. They’ll fix stuff quick to accomplish this.
Not only that but the dealer should have tested ALL that stuff prior to releasing it to you. Yeah……right. 🤣😂
this video owns. good content!
This was great even four years later!
Very informative
excellant class
You should do this before you leave the dealers lot and don't cut them a check until you test most of these.
All good pointers but I'd want to do all of these things before I got home and before I signed on the dotted line.....
Perfect. Thank you.
CHECK YOUR SEALS! lol. I loved that part
awesome video. thanks!!!!!!! will definitely be subscribing
I wouldn’t leave the lot until I’d done all of this first (except the sleeping in it).
SOme dealers do have a place to sleep in it first night.
Away is away, Debra. You heard the man 😆
Thanks for the info
Love the enthusiasm, especially #15 - that's the excitement of buying one of these beasts! By the way, I checked my seals. :)
Very good, thank you.
Step number one; check to see if your state has any consumer protection similar to "lemon laws" and laws against arbritary agreements hidden in fine print. Once you sign on the dotted line, forget trying to get your money back, without great difficulty, if you are sold a lemon. We bought a Jayco 317 RLOK on August 31, 2018 and returned it to the dealer for a structural crack in the fiberglass panel near the pin box. The problem was approved for repair under warranty allowing for a "9" hour repair. The trailer was returned for repair on Sept 13, 2018 and remains on the dealers lot as of today Oct. 27, 2018. We sure are enjoying our Jayco 317 RLOK purchased from Boyer Trailer Sales, Erie PA. Tell Nick, we sent you.👍
Update 10/30/18..... All parts and materials at the dealer so Our "dream" RV is scheduled to enter a service bay on 10/31/18 and we should expect to pick it up in one to two weeks. Also, labor is now set at 12 manhours. um, takes 1 to 2 weeks to perform 12 man hours of labor???
Update Nov 7, 2018: 1 week has passed since our trailer was to enter a service bay to accomplish a 12 hour repair aaaaand, we have not heard if the repairs have been completed. Stay tuned.
Update Nov 8, 2018: Brought our dream trailer home on the 7th. Repairs are fantastic. Much much better than original work from the factory. (Shame on Jayco for such shoddy work). My sincere thank you to the service dept at Boyers Trailer Sales, Erie PA.
Though no fault of the service guys it took 7 weeks having our RV unusable for repairs requiring only 12 manhours of labor. All parts and materials were readily available as they were common to the construction of the trailer model and at best, would require 2 days shipping from Jayco to Boyers.
Note to Nick Boyer, check your voice mail. I left you a message on Oct. 30 asking you to return my call. I'm still waiting Nick.
Thanks again to the service dept at Boyers for doing such a nice repair. 👍
End of story.
You assume that the service group was just sitting around waiting for your repair to do something. Not that they had other work to do that most likely predates your work order. I work in service industry, and it always amazes me how every customer thinks that I am delaying their repair while I am in the process of fixing 2 to 5 other peoples equipment that came in before them. Reality Check - you are not the only service customer waiting for repairs.
Also, if any chemicals are involved in the repair, many take time to cure, so the 12 man-hour estimate is not 12 hours straight though. While techs are waiting for paint, sealant . glue to set, they work on something else.
Great video. Waiting for our first camper to be delivered.
I hope you love it! Get out there when you can!
U are really good!!! Thx!!
“Check your seals, check your seals, check your seals” 🤣
Thank you, Sir
