Thanks for recommending me the EPZ Q1 pro; Monk. I spent enough time with it now to say my thoughts and i think the midrange/vocals are much smoother and cleaner compared to my KZ ones. Definitely a good purchase!
Extensive review from technicals point of view and everyday features. Cayin is also relying on Hiby player core and sadly Shanling software just invalidate any pricing from them. The R8II top cherry, to me, is the software adjustments that goes beyond PEQ and with profiles management.
Kann series from AK is a typical reference/analytical sounding daps. Ive had the Max and loved it but found it bit too analytical and sharp at times. It could be due to the ESS dac used here. You should try sp1000/2000 daps from them, i think you can find used for around 900-1200 bucks. These will blow your mind- even more resolving and spacious but smoother, liquid sounding- very natural and life-like. Astell&Kern know how to implement AKM chips.
The MSEB was originally called the MageSound 8-ball :) Great description on it though, the temperature slider is certainly a shortcut to what many people desire in earphones :)
Hello Monk! I guess the R8 II might pair well with the MYER-AUDIO SLIIVO SL-41... but I guess this DAP is an overkill for these rather reasonably priced IEMs.. or? What's your opinion since you like those Myer Audio IEMs
Thanks for review, i wish hiby decides to leave that unit with you. It looks gorgeous. It is sad they are SO expensive. One would hope that a big battery, good amp/dac and all the Android achievements so far could come altogether into something a bit more affordable. I got the R5ll that also has A and B class amps and also, cannot tell the difference between em. Cool upgrade mseb parameters and other features can now be controlled outside hiby music to be used with whatever app one prefers. I'd trade mine if only that one was a bit more accessible. Cheers.

The R8II is a wonderfully smooth DAP I like it on the A&K and the warmer M8 I own so to answer your inquiry I think it would be a great pairing.
>Bought a $2000 DAP
>Watch Shrek
And it was good movie. 👍
So is this your favorite dap so far?
Nope just made #2 The ONIX XM5 is my top pick

I wish this one had a volume wheel, I am a sucker for that!
It would be nice if someone did a comparison between Hiby r9ii vs Ibasso dx320

What happened to the graph?
The chart forgot it LOL
I found its sound to artificial
It's analog sounding old school so if you never grew up with cassette tape and vinyl it will definitely sound different.
