Insanely jealous! Being there opening day and meeting all the stars would be like a dream come true! I have no clue when I will be able to go but I definitely will one day
Words can't describe what this place is like. It's beyond amazing! Ahhh I wish I was there to see the cast. Ginny has gotten so pretty too! Can't wait to go there!!!
Can't wait to be there. I wish I could be there for the opening, but I couldn't get time off since my work shuts down for the 4th of July. I to wait 2 more weeks until then.
OHHHH!!!! I got to go and ride the rides, but it was a few days before the grand opening!!! :D we waited outside the park for about an hour and a half. and once we got in, there was a 9 hour wait just to get into the Harry Potter side if the theme park!!!! Oh yea, and butterbeer, it was just cream soda! lol with foam on the top. but it tasted amazing just knowing it was from the hp movies! lol :D the whole experience was GREAT! (:
@genatis123 i feel the same way when i was 5 my mom read the first book to me, when the second book came out i read it by myself. I would of loved to go to the grad opening, those kids where so young and they probably only watched the movies. that makes me sad :(
@msr824 '92 baby too! :P Can't believe I just turned 18.. seems like yesterday I read the Chamber of Secrets for the first time when I was 12, got told off by my mum cos I wouldn't put it down to go to sleep haha. I love hp so much. Memories :]
@kasihandelohxoxo I kinda agree with you! I mean, I'm happy for all the people that live in America that the park is build there, but it would feel so much real if it was indeed opened in England. For one, because it would be so much closer for me 'cause I live in The Netherlands. (: Hopefully they'll build a Harry Potter park in England too!
I bet allmost all those kids only know the basic thing about the Harry Potter Universe....That there is magic. I grew up reading Harry Potter. Us true fans deserve to be there more than anyone.
I think the kids were kinda scared of Tom Felton since he plays Draco lol. But I agree with tiredofphailspelling, I really wish these winners had been people who have stuck with the series for all these years (*cough* me *cough*). Harry Potter isn't JUST for kids. People like us fans are the ones who really deserve to have gone. Oh well. Hopefully those kids become massive Potter fans. :)
Right , so the author is English. The main characters and actors are English. Hogwarts is just a train ride away from London in some parallel universe. But the theme park is in Florida ? I'm not objecting but it would've been nicer and more realistic if it was in England! Hope they open one in England soon. I'm so jealous ! We don't have nice theme parks in England. All we got is Alton Towers and that is a joke.
@chefdaisey89 thats because americans get everything i think it would of been cooler if the park was in england ( even if that reduces my chances of seeing it, being from canada it is easier to go to the states than to england but still) either that or they should of had actually fans of the books, as in people who actually read the books, love the books and was actually alive when the first book came out meet the cast. Not first graders :/
Little kids don't appreciate Harry Potter like us... They don't understand what it was like... You call those cheers? Come on, me and my friend alone could have made more freaking noise if we were there. They don't understand the wonderfulness of the world of Harry... AND YET THEY GET TO GO TO THE OPENING AND WE DON'T!!!!!!!!!
@tiredofphailspelling Its because we can actually grasp the real depth of the story, and I'll sound like a bi-otch, but those children haven't read the books nor are they as immersed in them as the older fans are. I was raised on the HP books, and I think they should have let the devout fans be in the limelight.
Hey!!! I know that Train Conductor!!! I dressed up when I went to WWoHP and he asked me if I turned in my permission slip to Prof McGonagall. I said no, and he took me by the arm down to the Castle and told me off. It was hilarious! I didn't get it on video, but I did get my trip to WWoHP on video, so subscribe so you can see them as they are posted!
@Sifirela hahaha i know exactly what you mean, i mean it's an english franchise, owned by america. quite frustrating, i think it would've been sooo much better in the uk!! but hey, at least they've finally made it, i guess anywhere is better then nowhere!! only problem is, i dont think i'll be going to Orlando anytime soon!
Aww, I remember my mom reading this book to me when I was nine years old, and I loved it even way back then. I hope the kids who got to go really appreciated it. I'm going to try to go to this park someday, but I have a feeling it's not going to be for at least another year simply for the fact that I highly doubt this park will ever NOT be bursting with ravenous fans.
@drowninginbishie yes I agree that everyone should have the same opportunity as those kids, me being a HUGE fan that has also grown up with harry as much as I so wish I could've been/could be there, the only down side would be all the waiting, but would be so worth it! hahaha, can't wait to go when I can! (hopefully soon)
I would give anything to go to the theme park and meet the cast. The people I most want to meet are James and Oliver Phelps! I think they portrayed Fred and George very well in the films, and Fred and George are also my favourite characters. I also think Daniel is cool, he's really funny :)
I like Twilight better =] this place looks cool too but I rather go to Disneyland! *Not bashing on Harry Potter* I havent read the books or seen the movies but it all looks great. I would sceam if they made Twilight Saga theme park. That would be the best day of my life =]
i am just happy for them.. they will be able to look back and say I was there.. to experience the GRAND OPENING.. I am going in AUG .. and I CAN NOT WAIT!!! I hope it is as wonderful as I have built it up in my mind to be!! AHHh.. lol. .freking out in my computer chair way up here in Canada!!
no offence to those kids half of them wouldnt even have read the books! sure they would have seen the movies maybe but, the diehards should have been with the stars. half those kids would know what happens in DH it would be too graphic for them etc get my driff!???
That was so cheesy at the beginning. :) It got less awkward when Dan came on and talked. James and Oliver's filibusters fireworks part was funny. I like how at the end all the girls in the crowd were screaming and all the boys just had a big smirk. I'm sure Andrew was fan-girling out though. ;)
@superantonellafan Magic is for everyone. It shouldn't matter if they were there for the first book, the first movie, or any of the early stages. Harry Potter is for us all and doesn't care when we find the magic as long as it can be enjoyed.
Some of these comments are stupid. Who gives an eff if you saw the first film when it came out? I was 2 months old when the first book came out and these comments about the late teens and early 20s being the real potter generation just erk my nerves. Shut Up.
THE CROWD IS LAME!! I'D BE DYING RIGHT THEN AND THERE! and I live two hours away from San Antonio, grrr!! and what makes it worse, is that those little kids are so young that they probably won't remember this experience when they're older!!! Screw that!!!!!
MAD jealousy. Wish I were there. T_T But I hear the crowds are awful, the heat intense and the wait ridiculous. Perhaps it is better to wait afterall? Besides it will still be there, it's not going anywhere. Still, all very exciting for us HP fans!
@palecherries I'm from America and went and I LOVED it! But I agree, their British accents wern't too good. It should be in England! It made me upset it was in the hot Florida sun instead of the cool breeze of London. . .
Jealous! But I think I'll wait long enough to go for it not to be so crowded! I love how it's "Wet start, NO HEAT" fireworks, but they were using matches. Of course, of course, haha. They should've left off the No Heat thing xD
Wow, this really brightened by day. Everyone just seemed soo genuinely happy to be there and excited for this next step in the HP world. Thanks for posting for all of us out here who couldn't make it!
I WANNA TAG MYSELF IN THIS!!!!! and I totally know what you mean about the little kids..haha...all these 6-9 year olds who have done nothing but watch the movies got to go in first! lame!
HARRY POTTER IS A PHENOMENON, AMAZING MOVIE, AMAZING BOOKS, I CAN4T CHOOSE BETWEEN HARRY POTTER AND TWILIGHT, BECAUSE TWILIGHT IS ALSO ONE OF THE BEST SERIES OF BOOKS AND FILMS
Its soooo hilarious how Toom is going around saying "im friendly i dont bite" cause those little kids are used to him being "evil"... ohh gosh im sooo jealous of those kids >:|
All i have to say is that those kids that got to meet daniel radcliffe weren't even alive when harry potter came out its not fair i am jealous can't wait to go to the park this summer
@1college07 not really funny, I'm sure if they had put it in the UK people would have gone, just makes sense to have put it a) somewhere where there are already masses of theme parks and b) somewhere with a larger population and hence already easily accessible to a larger demographic of fans.
@classyandsassy yeahh but the weather kinda sucks and the population is much lower. They were really just looking for the best place to put it it make the most money
@MsTwilightsagaxoxo I know right?! Those kids probably thought, "hey, I get to go to a theme park, cool." not realizing how monumentous this theme park is....
@genatis123 I know, right? I really grew up with Harry Potter, buying every new book when the day it came out. I bet those kids didn't even read one of them.
@iLeaveBritneyAlone oh ok thank you. what do you mean write down the number? i plan on going during winter break and this is my first time to universal.
dont forget, who in their right minds wants to go to a Twlight theme park? what would be a ride? lay in the grass while we sprinkle pixie dust on you??
A lot of those kids probably don't even know what Harry Potter is, but that doesn't mean that they should just be ignored! They have just as much right to experience Harry Potter as us older kids who grow up with HP do, it's not their fault all their generation can provide them is Twilight! (Which I do actually like fyi =]). And come onn people, the park is actually aimed at children so it makes sense for the publicity stunt to be inviting elementary kids not high school students!
ellatrixCrucioYou Don't you see the winner of contest? I mean their teacher Lindsay Richard? Sha is qiute young so I suppose she is REALISE what it is to win! And she screamed so much I think she is a fan of HP! Its sound Foolish that 6years old kids were so scared about the disaster in Haiti and maked a plan how help to people!it was their video for contest - how little children raise a money to Haiti
"What a great trick" -fireworks burst out of no where- baha. Tom. "I don't bite. I'll be friendly. Their so amazing. :D My sister & I are saving up money, because we both have to go here before we die. It's a must. I mean who wouldn't want to actually fulfill their dreams of being in the Harry Potter Wizarding World? I've been waiting for this moment for years. :)
Insanely jealous! Being there opening day and meeting all the stars would be like a dream come true! I have no clue when I will be able to go but I definitely will one day
Dan is so adorable with the kids lol
Words can't describe what this place is like. It's beyond amazing! Ahhh I wish I was there to see the cast. Ginny has gotten so pretty too! Can't wait to go there!!!
I'm going July 26! can't wait.
Can't wait to be there. I wish I could be there for the opening, but I couldn't get time off since my work shuts down for the 4th of July. I to wait 2 more weeks until then.
it opened on my b-day! THUMBS UP FOR THIS!
Is Rupert Grint ever not adorable? I mean, look at how shy and cute he is! Missed Alan here, though. According to me, he's the best HP actor.
as much as i cant wait to go, im happy i wasnt there in this video, the huge amounts of people looks like you would never get anything done
hollyy I am so jealous right now!
I would do anything to be a student from the elementary school
@swiftbirdman word, everyone knows Rupert Grint is who makes the series!
I wanna go
@genatis123
i feel the same way
when i was 5 my mom read the first book to me, when the second book came out i read it by myself.
Memories :]
Ugh.... I went to Florida EXACTLY two month AFTER this happened... I could've seen the Phelps.... D:
@kasihandelohxoxo I kinda agree with you! I mean, I'm happy for all the people that live in America that the park is build there, but it would feel so much real if it was indeed opened in England. Daniel Radcliffe is truly a great person, I'm so excited to go!
@Drummline4life omg me too!! ITs no fair i would love to go but i cant afford it i would pretty much be peeing my pants if i could expirience that..

@WhenILoseMyself I know! I was just sitting there glaring at them. God damn children. WHAT ABOUT US?! I read the first book when iI was 5 years old!
Linked from Perez, Andrew!
@FairytaleDream13 hahaha XD "I'm not evil! Í'm not really evil! I promiiiise"
God...I wanna go so bad! One day...
If I was there you wouldn't be able to hear them talking because I would be screaming!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
@xGlamourxQueenx no she's attending university so she couldn't come because of classes and distance...
@tiredofphailspelling So true.
Wrackspurts! I'm too poor to go :(
I think the kids were kinda scared of Tom Felton since he plays Draco lol. If I had 3 wishes, i would wish that i could speak English, i would be rich and i would go there.
@CantStayAwake hhaah i am a twilight fan myself, but that made me laugh very true (:
LOL They nicely applaud for most of them and then you hear all of these random little girls spaz out when the Phelps twins come into the picture
Oh God I'm so heartbroken that this wasn't built in Europe. I really really really hope I'll have enough money and time to visit it some day.
I can't believe that these little kids get to go to the grand opening of the wizarding world. They don't even know how to read yet.
it would be my dream to go there and experience that. im so jealous of everyone there! i love harry potter so much!!
@omgaw And there was me thinking British people actually LIVED in America.
The fact that most of the staff are American annoys me ALOT.
i just spent the best three days of my life there!! The Forbidden Journey (castle) is a one of a kind amazing ride!!!
Man, Daniel Radcliffe is just the nicest guy!
If only this was in the Los Angeles Universal. I'd definitely go. =(
so i was wondering, if you order your tickets online do they ship to you or do you do like a print at home thing?
I was there! Much farther back in the crowd though. Most epic thing EVER. The entire area is just fantastic.
@NellieIee But you get to meet the Daniel Radcliffe!!! I do hope those kids at least asked for his autograph!
@kasihandelohxoxo More for teens? No, more for everyone since the 1st book was released in 1991.
im going to be there tuesday, do you think itll be just as busy then as it was for the grand opening?
I am getting teary eyed watching this!! I was 9 when I first read the books, Im now an 'adult'.
just to add my two cents' - first graders? SERIOUSLY? Also how sleazy is the guy at the beginning?
I am jealous of the WORKERS who get to dress as wizards! I don't care if Florida is humid and hot!
man, i wish i was there....i thought i'll never say this but i am jealous of those 1st graders lol
I love the way the crowd appears to have no idea who the actors are when their names are said.
Lucky Duckies!!! hahaha they don't even seem that excited, I would be screaming my head OFF!!!
wow if never been that jealous on kids :P i would wana wake up in that park evry morning :P
im soooooo jealous of all of them there!!!!
just to meet dan!!
i love him soooooo much!!!!
aaah Tom Felton... my crush from the good ol' days ;(
bt he's supposed to be blond!!!
its luck like a very nice..i love the harry potter world but i am in denmark so....
@iLeaveBritneyAlone sounds thrilling. let me know when your theme park gets built.
i looooove harry potter, reading the books over and over and they're still funny.
i absolutely love Dan's personality. quirky and funny and a little awkward... :)
I hope the staff there are proper British people and not Americans. No offence :)
True, true. I guess a real fan of Harry Potter has to be at least 11 years old.
A lot of those kids probably don't even know what Harry Potter is, but that doesn't mean that they should just be ignored! They have just as much right to experience Harry Potter as us older kids who grow up with HP do, it's not their fault all their generation can provide them is Twilight! (Which I do actually like fyi =]).

are they adding places where you can stay at the park? like harry hotels? :p
WTF! From San Antonio? I wish they would have invited me to go with them!
Little kids always get special treatment! Darn them for being so cute!
@omgaw Because there is nothing American about Harry Potter. Nothing.
The guys "British" accent at the very beginning is appalling, ha! :P
Lucky kids. It looks soo awesome :)
Whatever happened to Hermione?
AAAAAAHHHHH!!!! literally cheering as if i was there, soooo jealous
@KrypticAsylum he only gets half applause cause hes half a man
