I find it kind of hilarious that the black student gets approached by missionaries so much. Every Mormon I've known was a lovely person, but you can tell that there's a pretty serious savior complex that underlies the missionary work.

Even better, I was pulled over by a cop driving home from the date, and he was really hassling me. Shining a flashlight in my face, and then into the car. The mountains are pristine out of necessity for watershed. The lake is incredibly polluted as is the air oftentimes. I could go on for hours about Mormon stewardship of the natural world but the real downside of Mormonism is the people believe that they are going to heaven and non-believers are not. That makes them incredibly obnoxious to be around in the long run. They make you choose being either for or against them so it was a very hard to make a decision so radical that it makes me prejudiced against an entire group of people but I don’t want them anywhere near me.

As a catholic from Maryland who has never met a mormon, I have been oddly infatuated with mormonism as a whole. It's so interesting to me how they are portrayed in popular culture. It's super interesting to me that within the United States there is such a high concentration of one religion and that in the middle of our country there is an epicenter of an entire religion that seems so foreign to me. Also like the migration of mormon people across the country then eventually settling in Utah is interesting to me, doesn't feel that different from an exodus you would read about in the bible.

Steve I’ve been a non-religious, a Catholic, a Latter-day Saint, and I testify that they do know the true God. I knew there was a God even when I was non-religious, and when I was a catholic I sensed there was more, I asked God which if any religion is true and then Investigated the The Church and have found that yes there is more. And it’s been the same God guiding me all along (Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost which is one God, three distinct personages, one in purpose).

I spent my last couple years of highschool and my first couple years of college in Utah County Utah. I went to UVU. I’m Jewish so I got plenty of weird looks when I told people my religion. For the most part Mormons were really kind to me. Not too intrusive and pretty chill. Some, especially the boomers, definitely didn’t like the fact that I wasn’t interested in converting.
