  • On this episode of FTP Speed Shop we install a Innovative Mounts Traction Bar Kit on Project Prelude. This is a super clean looking piece and gives us the much needed space we need around the bottom of our aftermarket radiator. I am excited to see how this bad boy helps this old prelude handle and launch.

    This can work with out the front engine mount

      I am not running a front motor mount. I also am running hassport motor mounts, so there isn't much movement.

    Would this traction bar fit the 6th gen Accords? Pretty similar set up

    What type of blue is that called that's on your valve cover and intake?

      It was a custom blend, my buddy mixed for me.

      Awesome! Amazing color, and great job. Beautiful Lude as well man! Your videos are super inspiring for me due to my own restoration project of my 4th gen Lude. Thank you!

    How did you get your cam gears to show like that ?

    • @FullThrottlePerformanceMike
      @FullThrottlePerformanceMike  2 года назад +1

      I marked the center of the cam gears on the valve cover with the lower belt cover removed. Then removed the valve cover and wedged a chunk of 2 by 4 in the valve cover where the timing gear would go and used a 4.25 inch hole saw and cleaned it up with a die grinder.

    I was searching everywhere for a left side radius rod and I couldn’t find one anywhere except for a couple people on Facebook prelude pages that were multiple states away that all wanted $100 and up and I didn’t really know if they were legit and it sucks because so many people out there just wanna take advantage of people and I don’t have $100 to gamble with because I don’t hate anything more than a thief and losing money. And I definitely didn’t want to drop 350$+ on a reputable trac bar kit, but I just found an open box innovative Mount kit that has some scratches on it for $80… I don’t gaf about a little bit of scratched paint because I do all my own work and aside from a little paint it’s just gonna be hammered with road debris anyway… I wasn’t sure if it was coming with the heims because they didn’t have any in the pictures so I ordered some new ones from the manufacturer directly for another $53 so for $130 vs what I was gonna pay for one stock radius rod, it was no question what the choice was gonna be. But I do have a set of moog bushings that I won’t be using now 😂

      Unfortunately the one that I had originally ordered for $79 was already sold, but I found out that it was only a cross member and one bar anyway, so I had ordered a hardware kit directly from innovative mounts and I ended up ordering a different one that was scratch and dent that was only missing one set of the hardware so it worked out perfectly for $300 plus the hardware and it showed up today so I’m gonna get it on tomorrow morning.

      I was hoping to see if you used a stock front motor mount and if so, do you use the provided bracket for the stock mount or is that for the innovative mount solid mount?

      @zacharymikell1847 I did not install a front mount. I debated on making a custom front mount but decided against it.
