The shanty-like music (specificaly 2:12) really cements the feeling of Boralus as some seaside town for me. So far Kul'tiras' music is some of the best produced by Blizz.
Saw on Wowhead's Kul Tiran guide that this portion of the KT music is heavily influenced by a real sea shanty called "Roll the Old Chariot". Here is a link to the a video of a group of people in New Hampshire singing it. It's literally the exact same song. ruclips.net/video/49FWp7WLYKw/видео.html The vocals to the song at 4:18 make this song even more like the original and therefore more awesome .
I may not play WoW anymore, but God.. the music is irreplaceable. I always look up for the music of new expansions and i'm never disappointed. I always find treasures like this song! Thank you so much for sharing!
When I was at Blizzcon and wandered to the Dark Moon Faire, David Arkenstone (I recognized him with his long hair n all) was playing with a bunch of bandmates and was playing the song played at 2:12 - 2:15 It was so wonderful to listen to it live as they played it faster and faster like you would at a traditional dance One of those moments where I should've totally recorded it
*RUclips recommending me this video* "Oh hey, I still remember this theme vividly as if it was yesterd- WHAT DO YOU MEAN 6 YEARS AGO?" Gosh. I still remember concluding my main character's RP arc in Boralus' tavern, shortly after the end of the 4th War. Time flies.

Gotta appreciate that Blizz at least knows who to go to for medieval-ish tavern music. David Arkenstone’s been holding down the fort for decades. (Along with others of course but WOW he’s done so many tracks for the taverns and the game at large!)
@@fotis7312 that's the trick with music from that area. The tune can be Irish, English, Scottish, or even German, yet it is known by all 4. Look up a song called the Twa Corbies fir an example of this: in Germany it's the Three Ravens. Same tune, very different lyrics.

We really missed tavern music in WoD and Legion. Glad it's finally back. Time for some sea shanties!
You should listen to "Alliance Mess Hall Music" from walords !
It was definitely very good. Like the reminder how great the Eredar/Draenei civilization once was.

Sounds like it could provide some fun background music for RP there :)
