Finally, finally a pro player who wasn't afraid to add a raven or two against zerg and got a solid ammount of value from them.
Also, let's be honest, vipers ( and partialy infestors ) are the reason why Terran mech is so rare. Mech player had advantage in supply and economy for nearly an entire game ( which is big, because mech units are very expensive and hard to max out), and still zerg did so much damage to it.
the problem with ravens is that if infestors gets to them and use their aa missile, then you are almost guaranteed to lose.
vipers were designed to be the perfect counter and thats what they are doing now... there is no proper way to balance them, except change the abilites
@@ObeliskM by the time those infestor have nural parasite, half of the creep should be gone, if I remeber correct all Terran need is techlab no produce a Raven. Zerk have to get a lair then infestor then neural
@@retsu4262 well, the thing is, :badelings, ultras and lurkers were designer to be Perfect counter to Terrano bio, but as long as you add some ghost, liberators, and have recent micro, you van fight then just fine.
But Vipers are guarantee KO of very expensive mech units that are hard to replace. Same for mind controlling them. It is very hard to punish, top high risk, too little reward.

By your logic I can counter with the same logic: Ghost counter vipers, lurkers, Ultras, infestor. So if I am a salty player like you I would say Terran ghosts are "It is very hard to punish, top high risk, too little reward." too, right?
Please, just keep silent and go back to your bronze games and keep losing to zerg over there, at least bronze zerg wont do vipers so you dont need to be so scared of them to go here act like a pro.

That looks like a missclick, missing the mineral patch by a hair... But it's cooler to believe that Reynor's brain is just larger than the average Italian, so that's what I am going to do.

Vipers can be a real pain in the ass, tbh. They made me think of a new upgrade for tanks: Can't be dislocated but needs 100% more time to siege and unsiege.
I would personally never take that upgrade. If the zerg are bearing down on me, I want my tanks to be sieged ASAP.
@@wolfclaw3812 Understandable. It would be a situational high risk high reward upgrade that could help if zerg decides to go mass viper. Obviously the the longer siege time is also a huge drawback and would force terran to play extremely cautios. Being out of position would be punished even more that way. Then again, that's a matter of skill, right?
@@ShayNightshade It's not a high reward, it doesn't force the zerg to change everything up. the difference is just that the vipers throw blinding cloud instead of abduct to knock the tanks out of the fight.
You know I half expected the zerg to be Dark but let's see how Reynor is doing this should be exciting!

Since i noted the "whohkay" (lowkos satisfied with the build "ok") i giggle everytime i hear it.
You know I've heard complaints that zerg is very OP at the top ranks and never really believed it.
However lings and banes have absolutely stupid ratio for potential damage for cost if you have the APM.
The creep spread gives you massive map awareness if you have the APM and focus to see all of it.
41 to 0 workers dead at 9:20?
Show me a protoss or terran game where they can lose 41 workers and still have a fighting chance for another ten minutes.
It's not just the 2000 Minerals that represent but the lost mining time and larva, 41 drones is an insane amount to lose and be totally still in the game.
That's just whining at how Zerg works. If Zerg can do this, then they're dead. Terran can just let go of workers in the late game and fully dedicate supply to army and no one's complaining about that mechanic. And yes, Terrans can lose an insane amount of workers and still hang on early game, mid, or late game just because of mules. Can just check Maru games where he's locked up in one base and still wins just because of mules.
Should we remove mules then and nerf zerg's larva mechanic? Don't think so. Stop thinking one sidedly.

zerg requires 5x the APM to fight a Terran mech army. Then they just build ghosts and it counters everything zerg can build

How did that zerg force move through like 14 tanks like it was nothing?
Hydras are Light so they don't take bonus damage from Siege Tanks, and they don't clump up so tightly so the tank's AoE damage isn't that good against them, either. If there's a large clump of Marines in front of the tanks, the Hydras can't fight head on or the Marines will tear them apart; but if the Hydras have free access to the tanks, they can chew through that Terran plating like butter.
The same way marines can chew through that many hydras.

That game was an example of why we so rarely see Terran Mech these days. If Special had played Bio, just using the Starport and Factory units for harassment, the Marines and Marauders would have smashed Reynor's army in a heartbeat, and there would have been little the Vipers would be able to do about it. Mech's damage is just too low in comparison; there was a point where the Siege Tank count was almost equal to the Hydra count and they still couldn't kill the Hydras even without Viper backup; Stimmed Marines and Marauders would cut through Hydras in the blink of an eye.
I don't play Terran so I'm not really invested in this personally, but I feel like Terran Mech needs some serious changes. It's too expensive, it's too clunky (Siege Tanks derp around a lot), the damage is too low, and it's somehow SLOWER than Bio.
That's wrong thinking. We rarely see Terran Mech played BEFORE the huge patch. Nowadays, it's starting to catch on. Even Clem is using it, even Byun, mister marine micro, is starting to mix it in. Give it time and Mech will takeover. Special didn't go bio because he's not strong micro wise. Reynor is insanely well practiced against bio. Let's be honest here, Special isn't that good compared to other pros.
Special didn't even mix in ghosts to counter the Vipers because his APM can't handle it. Imagine if Special could control ghosts well, then this would've ended faster.
Well if he went bio, Reynor would not have gone for Vipers, duh. He had the tech and units to mass lurker and that would've allowed him to just take expansions.
@@danielpirez381 Huh? Vipers are GREAT against bio. Blinding Cloud and Abduct are FANTASTIC to shut down groups of Marines and their Siege Tank backup.

@@danielpirez381 YOU must be in Silver if you are facing opponents only using Barracks units. Terran players who know what they are doing back up their Bio army with Siege Tanks and Widow Mines because you need splash damage against Zerg.
Seriously, not only did you not say anything about "pure bio", who ACTUALLY plays that against Zerg? How would you deal with Zergling and Baneling floods without splash damage? Ling/Bane/Muta or Roach/Ravager/Ling/Bane, as examples.
Maybe I'm giving you too much credit placing you in Silver League if these are problems you don't encounter.

waatching this game and I am thinking that a few widow mines could have helped, he had no Overseers.
Why make widow mines when you can just a-move a clump of units and slow push with siege tanks?

Anyone else's eye twitch a little when Reynor doesn't play Terran?
Reynor quit too early and felt desperate to throw his units away at the end. Later the game goes the worse mech is since it cannot defend all mining bases and production at the same time. Reynor got impatient this game and lost a very winnable game.
He lost over 100 drones no he didn't deserve to win this game at all.

@@justsaying102 Yeah but tbh Special could of easily held the zerg player to 4 bases and starved him without losing much he kept goin down the middle his army was extremely mobile keep sniping the 5th and Reynor couldn't of done shit about it.
Reyor had no economy to keep the battle of attrition, he was held on tech and economy for so long that he didn't have the resources to push back a slow siege ball if Special decided to camp outside the other mining bases. Too much tempo and economical damage.

Special didn't go ghosts/mech, the ultimate Terran lategame, simply because he doesn't have the APM to handle it at that level. The fact that such a low tech solution of just mass vikings won this one shows how powerful mech is nowadays. Many people (mostly Terrans) still can't accept how strong Terran is nowadays, both mech and bio builds.

goes to show how trash zerg defensive structures are when zerg players refuse to use them. not even bothering walling off access to mineral lines or anything. just roll on in or fly in and ur good. spore crawlers are ass. spines are ass. queens been nerf into oblivion....hydras are ass, they are such a bad unit compared to any staple ground to air unit on the other races.
