    $1,800 ventilated seats. Whoa! That's substantial money today, much less in 1998.

    That Turbo V6 engine was way underpowered even for 1998 standards.

      Indeed. A naturally-aspirated 3.0L V6 in a non-luxury Camry was somewhere around 190HP in 1998.

      @@doug6191 The similar era Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable 3.0 Duratec V6 had 205 hp.

      @@3piridacius806 So what? It should be more powerful. It should produce at least 255 hp. But then if it had 255 hp, that would put it dangerously close to the Cadillac Seville, which had 275 hp and GM would never allow a Saab to be -better- more powerful than a Cadillac.

      @CynicalBastard511 As is, the power was comparable to the others in its class. Still, a turbo should have given it a decisive edge in power.

    I’ll take the 2006-2009 with the 260hp 2.3T

    Wasn't the "quirky" that Killed Saab. But the perennial "Saab Stories" and their Constantly expanding prices. These were EXPENSIVE cars.
    PS; Saab Aero has Eff All to do with any saab car after1970.
    SCANIA is the actual maker /pedigree. Note that the Drag coeff is .32 to .36... dependant on info source. Use a valid reference .. next time
    Gee ...it's as fast as a current Civic.

    The NG900 of 1994 was charming but the 9-5 was a def downgrade from the suave 9000.
