The inscriptions I'm guessing is Tibetan?
It's a wonderful and peaceful place as usual. Only thing that scares me are those building built until the edge of the cliff.
I don't think I could sleep if I were to live in some place similar to that.
What kind of food do they eat? I'm guessing vegetarian only?
    Amazing landscape though.

The inscriptions are Tibetan, Dave. And, yeah, those buildings are placed in some precipitous areas. Not sure how they hold them up against constant pressure of erosion.
Some monks are vegetarian and some eat a lot of yak meat because there are not too many other protein sources growing at high altitude :)

I have not. It is generally not open to foreigners these days, west of Qinghai lake.
