    He sounds like a younger version of Greg Judy. That is one interview/discussion I would love to see.

    That's a great idea about putting the water trough in every other paddock since they rarely go back to the previous paddock to graze.

    Loved the video, subscribed. Im trying to do my own on Uruguay. Can you help me understand how is water running on demand through that pipe? Does it comes off the creek to a tank and then with a bomb that starts when it feels lower pressure? Thanks

      @camerongriffin3860  4 месяца назад

      Hey! Yes so there's a submersible pressure pump that goes down into a creek, when it senses the pressure drops then the motor kicks in.

      @@camerongriffin3860 Thanks for the swift response my guy, where is the pressure sensor?

    Is your water system gravity fed or from a hydrant?

    How do you water to these locations with no electricity for your pump

    • @camerongriffin3860
      @camerongriffin3860  6 месяцев назад

      Hey Anthony! Usually ill just gravity feed from a header tank.

    are you not worried about the cattle walking on the pipe and busting it??

    • @camerongriffin3860
      @camerongriffin3860  2 года назад +5

      Hey Michael, no the pipe is run under the electric fence so the cattle can't physically stand on it. I probably should have made that more clear sorry. Cam

    Hi mate - what pipe would you use for a gravity system? would 1 inch not have too much friction?

    • @camerongriffin3860
      @camerongriffin3860  2 года назад +1

      Hey mate, really depends on how many head you have to water and therefore the recharge rate required of your trough. With my gravity system I use this calculator to give me an idea of the recharge rate i can expect and then ill decide on a pipe diameter from there. www.copely.com/tools/flow-rate-calculator/

    How much does land cost per acre where you are, to buy?And how much is a heifer, steer and bull?

    • @camerongriffin3860
      @camerongriffin3860  2 года назад +2

      Gday Charlotte, at the moment depending on the soil you can pay anywhere from $2000-$10,000, however all my land is currently leased at the moment. Cattle prices are very high, for a nice weaner heifer/steer you can expect to pay $1500-$2000/hd. As for a nice herd bull you might be set back $5000.

    You may end up having rodents chew on the pipe causing holes, it does happen to some ranchers. I'd suggest putting up a bunch of good quality barn owl houses spread out near the edges of your property to cut down on rodent population, the bonus with that is by cutting down on the rodents you also cut down on ticks.😁

    fyi thread tape actually puts a lot of stress on the outside plastic fitting, causing cracks and eventually a break.
    Especially how much your wrapping, 3+ times is really bad for the fittings. If you insist on wrapping, run a single loop.
