Damn i can just shed tears of joy because for years, hell since I had this back in 96, this song just touched my soul as a 9 y.o. kid with nothing but PSX and Legos. Im glad this is available
Y'know, it's funny how this is my favorite track in the entire game... and it's not even a rap. I dunno, it just feels great to listen to, even outside of PaRappa The Rapper!
I know, i think the guy who made this worked on Sonic 3D blast for saturn, i mean you can hear a similar synth every now and then, they were released not far from eachother, and come on, it sounds too similar and perfect to not be
I listened to this song for the first time and thought, "Hmm, this sounds like Sonic 3D Blast for sega saturn..." And then i thought and found multiple similarities between this and "Your My Hero" From Sonic 3D Blast's Sega Saturn port. 1. The singers sound very similar to eachother. Info about the voice actor for You're My Hero is little and the one site that does says Sonic 3D Blast was the only game, and the voice actor for Funny Love is uncredited. 2. Both songs feature the title screen jingle, this song using Parappa's Greeting and 3D Blast using.. well theres no special name for the title theme 3. There is a very slight use of a synth in Funny Love that sounds like the one used in You're My Hero, but you have to listen closely to Funny Love after listening to You're My Hero to really notice. 4. Both games came out in the same year, the port of Sonic 3D Blast for saturn was in 1996, and so was Parappa 1.
Unfortunately, I found out the actor for Funny Love and You're My Hero arent the same, Debbie Morris was responsible for You're My Hero, and Saundra Williams (Mooselini's Voice Actor) was responsible for Funny Love. But this doesnt disprove fully that none of the people behind this song were the same.
They have the same genre, it's Acid Jazz. It was very popular around the time these games came out. Listen to the Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai or Incognito and you'll hear similarities :)
@@prestonmiller2903 What??? That game doesnt even have vocals, a close comparison i see is Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic Adventure 1. I have a suspicion that the people who made Sonic 3D Blast Saturns OST made this games, i mean they came out in the same year
@@prestonmiller2903 I think you made this comment because fnf is based on parappa, but the two games have completely different osts, artstyles, and almost gameplay. I have no idea how you can reccomend fnf from this.
If you like this music you need to listen to Swing Out Sister, try their It's Better To Travel Album. Also Knower are like this but more modern / electric sound rather than the 80s/early 90s thing.
"Parappa X Lammy" works BECAUSE of Parappa's original crush, Sunny Funny. Sunny ignored Parappa's advances in life until full acceptance in Parappa 2. As such, most of the rest later on came to prefer Lammy for the role of "Parappa's Treasured Girlfriend", according to certain headcanons. Since "Katy X Lammy" is a thing, if Lammy and Parappa get at it, a threesome begins. Just a thing I thought of, but I support Parappa and Lammy having at least a MUSICAL relationship.
I kinda hate how this song tune wise is nice, but it's badly written and composed. The R&B/pop melody is nice, but the bridge and staccatos are all over the place, and the chorus really is only sung once. The word "funny" or "love", is remarkably not used once in the entire song. But nice Parappa song.
Funny how you can appreciate older things so much later and not at the time. Makes you look around now.
The ending. What a masterpiece🥹

Anyone knows the artist who's sung this? Sounds like the one that sung on the Sonic R osts
At the um jammer lammy live show Michele Burks sang this song. She might not be the original singer though.
Can you add this to RUclips music please
P sure that's Katy singing but I could be way wrong
PKSkyler I'm pretty sure it's not the same voice actor. If it was I would be genuinely surprised. Stranger things have happened.
