I really would like to use this tools when modeling, but everytime the model become more complex than a few geometry, the tools just couldn't reliably used
I've tried this with the Trim option and it will not let me select multiple objects to trim at once. I keep having to click the Option icon and then the next object I want to trim.

Subtract and Trim will take material away from a solid.
