Maybe because they didnt get passed 1:44 awolnations original starts off very strong and despite being a good vocalist this kid didnt start it off strong he is good but he does need to work on that. After 1:44 he kicks it pretty hard.

I get what you're saying but it's not even about picking up low frequencies. There just aren't any low frequencies to pick up in the first place.
+Zyrus Smith I completely agree, there is one bass note, and I think it's from the beatboxer. He only hits it once, at 0:38-0:40. I wish he did it for the whole song.
