    I've been waiting for this for months! I breathed a huge sigh of relief when the rocket launched without any issues and when it came down to the ocean safe! I can't wait to see what the future of this organisation has to offer, especially with the manned launch!

    • @BobCat981
      @BobCat981 6 лет назад +2

      forgive me, but the point of this is to surpass the sky, is it not? Set ur limits a bit higher - at least an orbit :) Sky is the limit for model airplanes, and those are sooo 2017 :D

    • @miguelarguelles2704
      @miguelarguelles2704 6 лет назад

      OgaDuby indeed, at least an orbit... But let's go step by step... for the next flights, a reasonable objective would be beating the Von Kàrmán line (I believe that's 100 km high, where space starts). Then we can start looking for higher "limits" (or no limits at all) ;)

    • @CopenhagenSuborbitals
      @CopenhagenSuborbitals  6 лет назад

      Miguel Argüelles bringing a person to space and safely back again is so difficult , that only 3 nations has succeeded with this. If we, 50 amateurs, can make Denmark the 4th nation on the list, that would be fantastic. Suborbital Spaceflight is hard enough...

    Great video! Please add telemetry data such as altitude g and speed thanks

  • @RWBHere
    @RWBHere 6 лет назад

    Forgive me for asking, but did the motor only burn for about 34 seconds after liftoff; about 38 or 39 seconds in total? This would result in the lower apogee than expected. As to what _caused_ the total burn to be at least 6 seconds shorter than anticipated (or the in-flight burn to be 9 seconds shorter than expected?), your instrumentation will tell you more than we can see from the video feeds.
    Nonetheless, your achievement is very creditable, and the data gleaned from this launch will be very useful. Thanks, and 'Well done!'.

    Congratulations on a good launch and (mostly) good recovery.
    However, one thing that concerns me: The pre-flight modeling put the expected altitude as 13 km
    During the launch video, they show "expected apogee 8-12km"
    Actual achieved apogee was 6.5km.
    .
    WHY this enormous underperformance?
    Is their modelling fundamentally flawed, or did something malfunction of the rocket?

    Can it be ready for a retry in 2 weeks, to test whatever caused the lower apogee? Heard some rumors it was in good condition except some electronics and other consumables.

    • @MortenBulskov
      @MortenBulskov 6 лет назад

      "Some electronics" is basically the WHOLE electronics package. It is to much work to make it watertight so they need changing. IF we did it it is a month long project. But yes the airframe and engine are in perfekt condition. So no we will not launch anymore this year :-)

    • @kraftwerk4
      @kraftwerk4 6 лет назад

      I think that is because the LOX insulation material used during filling was not removed either by a human process failure or if there has been a mechanism to remove this automatically this has not happened. This has resulted in a great air resistance, which may contribute to the somewhat low height
      Look at time 00:13:10 and forth, there is something falling out of it (LOX insulation material)

    • @MortenBulskov
      @MortenBulskov 6 лет назад

      The insulation did not have any measurable impact on flight speed. All figures are nominel on acceleration etc. The insulation was frozen onto the rocket and fell of in about 500ish meters. The wire cut the tape but the frost held it on. It is much more important that it was there to reduce lox boiloff

    • @CopenhagenSuborbitals
      @CopenhagenSuborbitals  6 лет назад +3

      Nope, it was exactly as intended (except for too quick opening). Remember, that everything we do is to prepare us for the crewed launch we'll one day have. That launch will have a space capsule which will have parachutes that actually open a bit higher, for safety reasons. Therefore, we are already with these early missions practicing a long range recovery, in order to get used to chasing down the capsule, calculating the course it will travel etc.

    • @CopenhagenSuborbitals
      @CopenhagenSuborbitals  6 лет назад +2

      Did Van Allen aim for a manned launch?
      It adds a lot of complexity to a manned launch, one being the inability to predict launch and landing area

    • @silakanveli
      @silakanveli 6 лет назад

      Copenhagen Suborbitals launch and landing areas are definitely a problem, no doubt.
