Heard a radio interview with Mose, in the early eighties. They asked what he called his musical style. He replied ,Neo New Orleans Panaramic boogie woogie

1963-64...just out of c0llege. Heard 7th Son & I was a fan from then on! Had an old Mose album from 60s. Im 83 gave it (& a bunch of others to a young man who liked to listen to them with his dad. They really enjoyed their time together with those albums !

One of my favorite memories is listening to Mose Allison in person when he performed here in 1995.

I saw Mose at the old Salt Theatre in Newport RI around this time period. Same musicians and there was a tenor sax player onboard. Great show.

Growing up in London during the ‘Swinging Sixties’ I saw the great Georgie Fame many times in various venues. He always gave Mose a great rap and when you see the man in action it’s super clear what a HUGE influence he was on Georgie, and wonderful for all of us!!!

A lyrical master. Such an economy of words that are so powerful.

I can’t get enough of this guy

He might've looked like an elder guy in his 40s already, but once he begins to play piano and sing it's like he's sippong from the fountain of youth. Everything about this guy tells you he loves his jazz and it's like a breath of life for everyone who hears it. No wonder he lived a long life, just four days shy of his 90th birthday.

I just rediscovered him today. Saw him live twice in the 70s. So happy to have rediscovered him. Amazing musicianship with equally amazing lyrics.

Won't you send Mose & his delegates over to Chicago. The murder rate is getting way out of control!

Mose......the Mississippi hipster. If there was really musical justice, this guy would be up there with Ray Charles on the musical Mount Rushmore.
