They also could have worked on their issues and been a happy couple. A lot of their issues (the insecurity, caring what other people think, and the inability to appropriately articulate feelings etc) are things you either grow out of or learn how to deal with as you grow into an adult (mentally not as in age). We don't know and I think that's the point of that last scene. They're both realizing that this thing they both wanted was within reach but they chose not to be honest and so they didnt get it. Now every what if scenario is playing in their heads. Probably one of my favourite scenes so far.

Wow, I really liked this episode. This series arrived in my life at such a crazy time. It was crazy when I was trying to fix my long-distance relationship, crazier when US-Germany closed borders. I guess I'm trying to figure something out with my girl so we don't live with Peyton/Luca's "what-ifs." If things don't work out, they don't work out but we can't say that we didn't try.
I CAN'T BELIVE THIS!!! They actually could've been together WOW, but come to think of it it's like Luca was going to make that kiss an excuse to break up with Joey and what if she hooked up with another guy from church while dating Peyton again.
And Luca asked Peyton if she would be interested being in another poly relationship. Is Luca just curious or considering being in a poly relationship with Peyton?

I’m thinking the same thing. Then again, when you love someone you don’t necessarily find the strength to walk away from them, when they had or have done you wrong. I understand how stressful it is for peyton, I also understand that she love Luca to appoint where she feels like it’s always her fault why Luca is walking away from her. Truth is we always blame ourselves for our partner unhappiness when we feel as though we’re always trying to make them happy but nothing seems to work. We blame ourselves because we want to fix them, so that they can be happy. But the truth is we can’t fix what is truly broken without the help of the broken soul, and sometimes just sometimes we have to let them try to break free from their selves. Deep down inside they may love us, but don’t know what to do, because of all the pain they keep reflecting on, all their going through with families, health issues and of course sometimes they have someone on the side, which they don’t know who to choose. It’s messy. Peyton loves Luca, and Luca love peyton, but Luca mind is conflicted. She’s not in a good state of mind and she’s hurting. And because of her pain, with peyton trying to understand her, it often comes off as if peyton is judging and hurting her, but that’s only because peyton want to help Luca dress her scars. Often times we never find the right words to say. But we’re humans. It’s clear that peyton would do anything to be with Luca, but for that to work, Luca have to meet peyton half way. The pain and love they share is so clear.

EFFING AMAZING EPISODE!!!! I loved this. The gravity of their situation slamming down on them was brilliant! Finally, they are starting to be honest with each other, I was cheering the whole way through the episode. Then I would miss something and have to back up the video. I was jumping up and down in my office, yelling and wildly gesticulating at my monitors. Super exciting episode. Thank you so much for all of your effort, it is so appreciated. I look forward all week to getting a new episode. I'm going to be so sad when it's done. OMG, and the bottle save, freaking fabulous that you got that on camera, and they just kept on with the scene, like it had been planned??!! Amazing actors, too cool for school. You can tell they are comfortable with each other too, Luca's hand sneaking on to Peytons thigh when they kiss at the end, felt like it bound the scene together for the end. Honestly, I feel like your twenties are your "finding you" time and it's a good thing they weren't together at that time. The things they've learned from that period in their lives can be used to strengthen their future relationship. They weren't honest with eachother in the past, but know now that honesty is the best policy. To be fair, I've only had one relationship and that was my 8th grade boyfriend which I don't count, because 16 years later he was the cashier at Starbucks and wrote my name on the cup wrong! And my last date was in 2012... I'm glad I attempted and none stuck because I had the everything's fine even if I'm not happy idealism. I have no words. I loved the episode, 100%! I missed last week and this week due to college so I just caught up and this episode had me laughing, relating (to both of them) and being confused with them too. But I loved how this episode was made, how each transition was a light switch to symbolize the lights being on. But I definitely felt both of their pain at the end. Cory amazing job! The chemistry of these two is endearing. I'm smiling from the first few secs till the end despite that bummer revelation. Again, kudos to Cory for being a superb storyteller, the music is super cool! I think this is the first time I saw Luca being tongue tied after Peyton answered the threesome question, she's almost speechless lol. (point1 for P) But then again, flawless delivery of the best lines from start till end to Rachel, our birthday girl nailed it! From commenting on P's beautiful eyes to asking P for a date! that's badass Luca right there! The big reveal at the end, #FacePalm! We can clearly see how bad it is to assume and not talk to the person directly, it could cause you 10 years of what ifs.
Oh my God! Even when the ending left my heart hangin this is one of my fav episodes. The way Payton just apologized for trying to fix it all and the date and them laughing 😍😍😍 also the way they were kind of shy reminded me of me. Cliff hanger!!..haha..that last scene answered everything though..all the confusion, the miscommunication and the pain that both felt over the years..i mean if only peyton knew and if only luca tried hard, it would have turned out great for everybody..but what can i say "the past is only the future with the lights on", which i didn't quite understood at first, but i think it means that whatever happened in the past there's always a bright future ahead..destiny brought peyton and luca back together, patched up what was broken in the past and maybe hope for a happy and amazing future for the both of them..weeelll..this has been loooong!..i just love their story!!..haha..makes my heart flutter!!💓🥰😍

Honestly, I feel like your twenties are your "finding you" time and it's a good thing they weren't together at that time. The things they've learned from that period in their lives can be used to strengthen their future relationship.
They weren't honest with eachother in the past, but know now that honesty is the best policy.
To be fair, I've only had one relationship and that was my 8th grade boyfriend which I don't count, because 16 years later he was the cashier at Starbucks and wrote my name on the cup wrong! And my last date was in 2012... I'm glad I attempted and none stuck because I had the everything's fine even if I'm not happy idealism.
Now, I have accepted and embraced my asexuality and am happily single.

I have no words. I loved the episode, 100%! I missed last week and this week due to college so I just caught up and this episode had me laughing, relating (to both of them) and being confused with them too. But I loved how this episode was made, how each transition was a light switch to symbolize the lights being on. But I definitely felt both of their pain at the end. Cory amazing job! I think this is the first time I saw Luca being tongue tied after Peyton answered the threesome question, she's almost speechless lol. (point1 for P)
But then again, flawless delivery of the best lines from start till end to Rachel, our birthday girl nailed it! From commenting on P's beautiful eyes to asking P for a date! that's badass Luca right there!
The big reveal at the end, #FacePalm! We can clearly see how bad it is to assume and not talk to the person directly, it could cause you 10 years of what ifs.

Oh my God! Even when the ending left my heart hangin this is one of my fav episodes. The way Payton just apologized for trying to fix it all and the date and them laughing 😍😍😍 also the way they were kind of shy reminded me of me. Like I’m so afraid of what’s gonna happen net but I can’t wait. Always amazed by the story, the music, the girls. I just can’t imagine anyone else recreating this story. Love it everytime❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
