Sweet- a great driving, reliable, economical car for $20K-22k. All sorts of trims and Honda still offers coupes with 6MT. Never mind Tesla, to me, this is real "automobile engineering", a car of this quality at this price.
I've have to disagree. I really like the chrome on the front and round the windows. It brightens the car and gives it a more upscale look. Also makes the car pop more. I had considered the hatchback, but went with the coupe because of the looks and for the chrome in place of the black.
Yeah i just bought a 2018 black LX-P and it's awesome, only has 6500k miles, some guy leased it and never drove it. Then traded it in, lucky me! Great car, quick, just enough features to NOT be to much, great ride, awesome handling and a very premium feel as most get with Hondas. ;o)
Just bought a 2018 LX Coupe a couple weeks ago. Black colour and 6 speed manual transmission. I absolutely love the car. It's my second car (first car I'm financing though) and it's by far, my favourite out of the two. I had a 2008 Honda Civic before this one and had tons of problems with that one which made me want to get rid of the car. Been loving this car since the day I got it. I wanted a 4 door (old car was a 4 door) but I gotta say the Coupe has grown on me since I've been driving mine. Now that I own one, I actually am starting to prefer it. My favourite car I've ever driven and the most fun car I've ever driven. Definitely do not regret getting the car. The payments will be worth it. If you're looking for a new car and you like Honda, this is the car for you. I can promise you that you will not regret buying this.

Greg's wife posting........I love mine! 2017 Energy Green Civic Coupe - automatic. Mine has Apple car play so it has navigation! Mine has a push button start - no key. I love the Energy Green. (First car I bought all by myself since I bought 1970 Toyota Celica.) Not much room for anyone in back, but one grandson fits ok in the back for a short ride. Trunk holds two sets of golf clubs. Great gas milage - 40 on road trips! Drove my last car ten years, so hope this one lasts that long!
I have the 2017 civic coupe 2.0 manual all black but it doesnt come with this much chrome what a great car plus its the only 2.0 besides the type r thus far i cant complain
I have this car in Aegean Blue with the manual, it's a sweet ride! Unfortunately, it has something negative in common with the Type R, the transmission is grunchy when shifting into second and third when it's cold, and it has been cold lately in NY. I've learned to double clutch until it warms up and it seems to keep it at bay while adding another layer of fun and challenge to the driving experience. I very much enjoy your video's Mr Cat, keep them coming!
Great review. I bought the 2.0 coupe in Steel metallic with the manual. Lots of car for a sub 20k. Power is adequate for 2700lbs. Heel & Toe keeping the revs between 4K-5500 is easy. The brakes are excellent. With balanced handing for such a short wheelbase, you can throw it into the curves without getting into trouble. My worst mileage has been 27 and best @cruising is 46. I love the coupe styling & chrome trim, along with the full width taillight. The lower rear looks a little bulky and the wheels are a little bland. If I want more extreme I ride my 1000k sport bike.
We have the 2016 Civic coupe and we just love it. Ours is in Rally Red. Bought it new in September 2016 and it really has been a good purchase. Fun to drive, good mileage and has really held its value. The design and appearance are great!
I couldn't hear the Vtec switch over on that CVT. In my manual, switch over is noticeable (like oldschool Honda) but only happens in 3rd gear. Rumors that ktuner will activate vtec swichover for 1st and 2nd gear. If so, would make this engine almost as potent as old Si, but on a significantly better chassis.
Anderson Rodriguez if your talking about toyota cvts well you'd be dead wrong. Test drove a corolla with that and hated it words can't describe how bad it was
I LOVE my '16 Coupe in this color, would've totally bought the manual if Honda had it at the time... The seats are different, (different colors, and soft stretchy material), I guess they changed the materials on the seats for some reason... maybe they got complaints.
Definitely not as good as the 335d on the highway, totally different class of car for sure, but it sure does good for what it was, I was surprised how good it was.
From watching the video it looks like the right panel thing is a big blind spot from the camera angel. Is it? I’m really short and wondering if that is an issue
Hey Elias, question for you: what do you have hooked up to the rear view mirror? I've seen it on your type R, but can't remember what it was. Also, many thanks for reviewing all these different Honda models. I'm good right now with my focus st, but my girl might be looking for an upgrade sometime soon and I'm sure these videos will be a big help. Keep it up!
Hi Josue, I think you mean my radar detector? That's to detect radar that the cops use, I tend to "fly" around everywhere. Thanks for watching, glad you're enjoying the content!
FlyinGato thanks for the reply! Any model you recommend? I actually just got back from court today for a speeding ticket I got on my focus st, so a radar detector would be a good investment!
I think it would be nice for Honda to offer the Type R engine in the Coupe as a GT-type car. I think they'd see some good sales out of that combo. Thoughts?
I don't think they really could. The Type R gets awful fuel economy in comparison to the rest of the Civic lineup and I don't think Honda wants to take such a big hit to their meeting CAFE regulations. I only get about 24 to 25 mpg mixed city/hwy driving in my CTR and I don't really have my foot in it that often. Plus, you'd have a lot of angry Type R owners who are paying $10k more MSRP (and way more than that with dealer markup) over the next highest Civic. I don't think the regular Civic suspension is designed to handle the power of the Type R K20 engine, anyway, and not torque steer all over the place. Also, the cost of the Type R motor is pretty substantial so they probably couldn't afford to sell it cheap enough in a standard Civic. I agree that the Accord's 2.0T is a good choice (especially for the Si) but then, too, that's the top motor in the Accord now that the V6 has been discontinued so they probably don't want it sharing with the Civic.
I think that the wider, stickier rubber is the biggest fuel economy differentiator. The fuel economy would be fairly good, I think with the different tires. The Civics are all light weight and the engine is very efficient. They are so far ahead of their competition on fuel economy, I don't think there'd be any issues. Also, the bulk of Civic sales would probably continue to be the lower cost trims. The Type R owners wouldn't be short changed. The Type R just has a different motoring emphasis. The GT types would not have the emphasis on the ultimate handling and/or acceleration. I've not looked underneath a Type R, but the suspension mods to eliminate the torque steer could be easily applied as they share the same platform, if not the exact same suspension components/geometry. Each model would offer a different driving experience (Accord, Civic GT, and the Type R). Most of the dealers within !00 miles of me are advertising list prices, so I think the dealers are not marking them up at this time.
You look small at the car, that happens to me in low cars at the back seat and at the front seat sometimes, this comment is edited cuz I was kinda savage before editing 😆
it uses a belt as the final drive, so it's basically a wear item. Also, it's the worst when you floor it and it just revs to the sky and stays there. Very uninspiring
I cannot stand the engine revving like that in the video, imagine driving it!!! sounds like my coffee grinder when you come out of the corners uuuuuuuh :-( . Save the manuals!
I have an EX-L. I think the CVT does its thing remarkably well. No real complaints. I like it because I can concentrate on how the car feels and how great it steers. Having clutch, for me, would muck that up.
Feels underpowered and heavy. Gas mileage is horrible. Too many wide gaps in seams. Bottom front end scrapes the street too much. My old Mazda 3 handles and drives better. Dealer prices for service are crazy high! First and last Honda I will ever buy. Not recommended!!
Sweet- a great driving, reliable, economical car for $20K-22k. All sorts of trims and Honda still offers coupes with 6MT.

Robert Bryant Chrome way better than black plastic!!
I agree the chrome looks so good in the front

For sure worth a look.

Just bought this car today. In green. But the 2018 model, and its manual. I love it so damn mhch
I have the 2018 model as well and mine is a manual too. Mine is black though. Absolutely love that car.

You are going to love it
@@FlyinGato i know it! i learned a lot from you in this video too
FlyinGato I’m picking mine up soon on Wednesday hopefully! I’m a college student and man you know how to do reviews!
Thanks man! I need to go back to review more cars
I have the 2017 civic coupe 2.0 manual all black but it doesnt come with this much chrome what a great car plus its the only 2.0 besides the type r thus far i cant complain
it's a great little car!
thanks for the review! im getting one this week and i already love it when i test drove it. Although I wasnt sure if mine was CVT.
Just brought mines yesterday
For what it is, it sounded very sporty!
I definitely agree

It's such a great car for so little money
Thank you for the review. I plan on getting one of these for my first car in about 5-6 months.
Good choice!
I have one of these. i have 0 complaints. the only thing i notice is how often i need to fill up since it has a small tank
We have the 2016 Civic coupe and we just love it. Ours is in Rally Red. Bought it new in September 2016 and it really has been a good purchase. Fun to drive, good mileage and has really held its value. The design and appearance are great!
It's a great choice and will likely run forever with basic maintenance.

Rumors that ktuner will activate vtec swichover for 1st and 2nd gear. If so, would make this engine almost as potent as old Si, but on a significantly better chassis.
Manual would be amazing in one of these. I would also get Ktuner if I were you, get rid of that rev hang you must have.
I dont think that these have the k20 vtec that we know in these models....
+allo cromeau Honda's internal designation is the K20C2
FlyinGato
Yes but i mean not the screaming vtec like the k20z4
allo cromeau i have the manual 2.0 lx coupe and trust me it sounds old school but these trans have a problem from 1st to second gear
I wished honda ditched the cvt for their 10 speed auto. However their cvt is the best cvt for what it is. Great video yet again buddy keep it up!
Tech Defender not reliable
Anderson Rodriguez please elaborate. How are these not reliable
Maybe he means it won't hold too much power? They have been pretty reliable until you start upping the power.
FlyinGato probably but Honda has gone downhill for awhile now Toyota is far ahead
Anderson Rodriguez if your talking about toyota cvts well you'd be dead wrong. Test drove a corolla with that and hated it words can't describe how bad it was
Getting the manual transmission would make this fine vehicle even more fun...
For sure 100 percent agree
I think you're upping your reviewing game; this one is markedly better than the Accord review, well done! 👏👍
+Melinda Casino it just takes a little practice! I'll be getting better as I keep doing them

I said the same thing on one of the recent videos. :) and you would be surprised flying gato, practice doesn’t always make perfect.
Thanks Jonah!
My 2016 civic coupe ex-t has surprisingly been able to easily get 48-52 mpg highway
Ya know...I don’t hate the coupe....but that green color....reminds me of split pea soup for some reason!!😎
haha! Gotta love that energy drink green!
I agree, the Aegean blue is the way to go for civics. It just looks right.
I test drove a blue and it is a pretty color for the coupe. But I'm coming from a "magma" metallic orange so I like oddball colors.
I love this car and the color! Would want the turbo & three pedals for sure. Nice review!
agreed, luckily this same car and color combo can be had in Si form, best Civic I think for most people.
Great review! This is a great first car for a teen to use!
Yay! A coupe review! I love the styling of the coupe. Except that chrome and ugly wheels
Is it as good of a highway cruiser as the 335D?
Definitely not as good as the 335d on the highway, totally different class of car for sure, but it sure does good for what it was, I was surprised how good it was.
I've got a blue one with the CVT couldn't pass up the great deal on it. I love it!
NA VTEC engine sounds
Thanks for the review. I’m currently thinking of buying this car
Another wonderful review from the Gato!!! Ur the man! Happy thanksgiving bro! God bless!!!!!
Thanks Shaun! Happy Thanksgiving!
wait so is this a sports car or not!!?

Awww look at the little go kart
is this stock exhuast??
yep stock exhaust
that green is awesome
One of the best colors for sure
Yea I really hate cars with that delay when starting to accelerate.
I think it would be nice for Honda to offer the Type R engine in the Coupe as a GT-type car. I think they'd see some good sales out of that combo. Thoughts?
+Robert Bryant I totally agree, honestly they should have taken the accord 2.0t and put it in the Si.
Indeed. I would also like to see some other interior color combinations added. When you see your Honda contacts, let 'em know. :)

No 1.5L turbo, and an uncomplicated center console that's not loaded with needless tech. Sold!
It's even better with a manual 👌👌
@@FlyinGato Yeah... about that...
Good job. Nice transitions into the areas of the car you were discussing. What Mic 🎤 setup are you using in the car?
using a Rode mic hooked up to a GoPro, and thanks!
I was going to get My Daughter a Beemer but decided on this Honda Coupe instead. I saved some $$ and couldn’t trust BMW’s reliability 😎😎🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️!!!
So good for a new driver?
Yea
that front plate is really killing the looks.
At least it has vtec
I got this car just black, It doesn't have vtec.
Peter Or Stewie yes the 2l does lol not the 1.5t though
What generation is this 9th or 10th generation?
This is a 10th gen
That 5 inch screen is too small. I'd rather upgrade to the 7 inch.
What does the L and S mean exactly?
L stands for LOW, as in, "low range" and S stands for sport
Is it a Turbo?
This one wasn't no
@@FlyinGato I am looking at a 2017 LX coupe and a 2016 Ex-t sedan. Are either of those turbo?
The ex-t is turbo

Haha, I’m only 5 foot 8, but I’m sure the car can fit a much bigger person
FlyinGato that happens to me when I sit on the back seat of a low car or sedan and the windows are tall lol, CIVIC’S FAULT! 😝
Sorry 😐 really I didn’t think about that, I better edit dat comment lol
haha, no worries my friend 😁
