Haha. I actually got to meet Leehom when I was working on his music video. I didn't know who he was at first and thought he was part of the crew. Long story short--he's a really great guy. Very sweet and down to earth.
yeah, and that's why Tata likes him. I think she really really like him, she say that he has a lot of muscial skill she she like people with full skill... I'm not a fan of Tata...but I love Lee Hom..
@laaybaybee yea but his parents grew up in Taiwan. He has grown up with Taiwanese culture/family/traditions...because his parents did too. It's more of a culture thing. His grandparents r in taiwan. So either they probably emigrated to Taiwan *or were born there. If we go by what you say, then 98% of Taiwanese people are mainland-chinese...there are very few aboriginal Taiwanese people (2%). Am I mainland chinese too even though I've been to China once and Taiwan over 20 times?
@choc0lee If you've been to Taiwan more than China, it doesn't make you Taiwanese. I'm Chinese, I've never been there. My parents are Chinese from Vietnam, two of my grandparents were born in Vietnam & the other two were born in China that grew up in Vietnam. Excluding my mom being a quarter Vietnamese, it doesn't make me Viet. Leehom does have many relatives in China right now, it's just his grandmas that are currently lives in Taiwan. The other grandma lives in Rochester w/ his parents.
@MissLurvelyB he's originally from AMERICA. don't call me a fool. i am almost CERTAIN that hong kong people also like to say they're from hong kong, not china. is that ok? go hate on them then. did i say he wasn't chinese????????????????????????????
@laaybaybee The point that i was trying to make is that I would feel more familiar with Taiwan than China...that alone makes me Taiwanese rather than mainland Chinese....
@waldomarek i only get angry when someone says he's NOT taiwanese. you just have to acknowledge that he's both. culture-wise...he's taiwanese ok? ethnically...98% of taiwanese ppl are chinese anyways. and like 50% of all other asian countries like singapore and thailand and wherever are all chinese too then. i just feel defensive because i feel like chinese ppl feel like they have to own taiwan.
@laaybaybee Well with Vietnam, it's different. Your parents were probs part of a chinese community-if your parents had Vietnamese traditions and still called themselves chinese then you'd have a good point. BUT I think Taiwanese and Chinese cultures are different. Can you deny that? I'm not a pro-independence person so I'm not gonna tell you that Wang Lee Hom is taiwanese and not chinese. But I don't appreciate it when people don't acknowledge that he has a Taiwanese heritage.
I agree with you mostly. I'm 100% Taiwanese and super proud of it but I never deny the commonality and shared heritage, culture, blood, geography and history between Taiwanese and Chinese. I'd say we are nation in one.
Leehom is American a New Yorker. ABC ok, no ned to argue, some ppl they just only think abt the roots of thier nation..,by right is introduce yourself from which country you were born.
@laaybaybee yea bc u wrote it...you won't see ur own spam. Ok if you want to talk about descent then WE ARE ALL FROM ONE SPECIES. evolution??? Why do you think I call myself an ABC? Because I've never even heard of anyone saying ABT...ABC is just easier to explain to the majority of people (americans). Americans don't even know about the disparity between Taiwan and China.
he said he was an ABC. actually he says that a lot XD. now. WHAT DOES ABC STAND FOR???? HM?? XD tehee. american born CHINESE. hey leehom, my amazing chineseeee buddy XD
@laaybaybee haha i didn't flag your comment as spam! seems like someone else did! anyways, what you're doing now is exactly what I dislike-You are ignoring and denying Taiwan as a separate entity. You're very ignorant as to how Taiwan has developed it's own culture. Are America and England the same? Taiwanese people have more freedom of speech, different mannerisms..different language among other things Chinese people don't even consider Taiwanese ppl as Chinese for goodness sake!
@laaybaybee I am chinese. I tell my friend's i'm Chinese (if they're not asian). But you are seriously denying Wang lee hom's connection to Taiwan? Don't you think after his grandparents lived there, and his parents grew up in Taiwan with a taiwanese government, school system, and culture...they would've been influenced by all that? All I want you to do, is acknowledge that a big part of Wang Leehom is influenced by Taiwan. Why can't he be Taiwanese? hm? And you won't do it.
@choc0lee I personally agree on the freedom of speech, as I do actually prefer Taiwan over mainland China. However, by all means you are still a Chinese descendant. You can't deny that either. American-Taiwanese people call themselves ABCs, never have they called theirselves ABTs, and as for Canadians CBCs, rather than CBTs. Taiwan's actual official country name is Republic of China = Chinese? In the end, you're still Chinese. I'm not being ignorant about Taiwanese people. They do exist.
what about those pretty white girls otakus dressing up as lolittas and speaking broken japanese ? yeah it goes both ways..even if it is less with white ppl
@choc0lee I don't like Mainland Chinese music. However, Taiwan is still tied to China in ways. There's a difference, but you have to get the fact that from the beginning, you were arguing that Leehom Wang is Taiwanese. He's Chinese. His parents were born in Taiwan, that doesn't make him Taiwanese. now that's right. hahaha,
@laaybaybee by the way i never denied that i'm a chinese descendant did i? so next time you describe Wang leehom make sure you say: He's taiwanese/chinese descendant. What's wrong with calling him Taiwanese? Chinese people won't even accept Taiwanese people. What's Jay Chou? Chinese people are just jealous because all the famous music stars are from Taiwan. Seriously.
@laaybaybee hm i agree to disagree...but. this argument can go on forever. all i know is, wang lee hom calls taiwan home and i guess that's all i can ask for
@laaybaybee By the way you ignored my point about your own family. So I'm assuming they haven't adopted Vietnamese traditions? Look, if you haven't visited both countries, I can understand how you think "Taiwanese and mainland-chinese cultures are literally near same". It's a whole different atmosphere. People's MANNERISMS, PRINCIPLES AND VALUES are different.
@laaybaybee umm i said that i tell people i'm chinese. so...yea...if i need to SPECIFY, then i say i'm Taiwanese. well. ever wonder why you don't listen to mainland chinese singers??? hmmm maybe there is a difference between taiwan and china...don't cha think? anyways. guess i'll go change my bios to Taiwanese with Chinese descent now...
@choc0lee You consistently emphasized that your are Taiwanese, and that you recognized your self as "Taiwanese", Chinese is no where to be seen right? So far, I see myself as a Chinese girl accepting Taiwanese people. I'm not racist. I don't listen to Mainland Chinese singers. That's why you see me here commenting under a Alexander Leehom Wang video. Seriously.
lee hom is soo perfect !!
Haha. I actually got to meet Leehom when I was working on his music video. I didn't know who he was at first and thought he was part of the crew. Long story short--he's a really great guy. Very sweet and down to earth.

@laaybaybee yea but his parents grew up in Taiwan. He has grown up with Taiwanese culture/family/traditions...because his parents did too. It's more of a culture thing. His grandparents r in taiwan. So either they probably emigrated to Taiwan *or were born there.

@choc0lee If you've been to Taiwan more than China, it doesn't make you Taiwanese. I'm Chinese, I've never been there.

@laaybaybee Well with Vietnam, it's different. Your parents were probs part of a chinese community-if your parents had Vietnamese traditions and still called themselves chinese then you'd have a good point.

omg,he's so cute,lol
who is that lucky but stupid girl that would leave him???
@laaybaybee yea bc u wrote it...you won't see ur own spam. Ok if you want to talk about descent then WE ARE ALL FROM ONE SPECIES. evolution???
Why do you think I call myself an ABC? Because I've never even heard of anyone saying ABT...ABC is just easier to explain to the majority of people (americans). Americans don't even know about the disparity between Taiwan and China.
