    Yay! I may have or may have not been the subscriber who pushed you to do this 🤔🫣 😆 I absolutely love your review! I’m new to gouache so I’m wanting to get all the supplies I need. I purchased a handful of W&N gouache colors thankfully none were primary color collection. Thank you thank you again I’m so grateful to be apart of your channel. Can wait to watch more content. I just ordered this and tried to open the palette and couldn’t do it - too tight and I was afraid I’d break it. Thanks to your video, I saw how you opened it and you mentioned it is “double locked” so I tried again and voila! Open sesame! Thank you!

    Oh noooo!! I have that one and 2 of their larger one. I have some Turner acrylic gouache in the larger one. I overfilled the larger one at first too. I was really annoyed. I got the idea for putting the gouache in the larger one from a video from thelastcoffeebean. She's used hers for a bit.

    The bee painting turned out so cute! 🥰 I got one of these stay wet palette because of you, lol. I use it for the himi gouache and it has been holding up pretty well. I made the same mistake of overfilling a few of them and I got burnt umber and Prussian blue everywhere 😅 But I’m ready to swap out the himi gouache with the holbein one. Himi for some reason is somewhat transparent even when adding the white to make it more “opaque”.

    • @CreatingCuteArt
      @CreatingCuteArt  2 года назад +3

      I'm sorry you had the same accident but I'm also somewhat glad I'm not alone 😂 Is that wrong?? I agree on the himi, it was only ever opaque for me if I used a lot of it (like an impasto style almost). I love the Holbein!!

    • @IridescentSiren
      @IridescentSiren 2 года назад +1

      @@CreatingCuteArt I don’t know if it’s wrong, but I find your response hilarious 🤣 yeah, I don’t like that I have to apply a thick layer of the Himi gouache just to get it opaque and if it is too thick it can crack on the page. I’m excited to try the Holbein ones!

    I just put mine in small plastic containers used for crafting supplies like pearls (the ones with a lid), then put them in a regular medium sized air-tight tupperware container. Much cheaper and works just as good.
    P.S:: You can bring rock-dry Gouache back to life with warm water. Just like any dry powdery substance, the warm water will dissolve the crumbled paint and make it creamy again.

    Received my palette yesterday. The silicone insert was glued to the lid. I used a hot hair dryer thinking it would soften the glue and come out. 😢 It didn’t, but put holes in the silicone. I returned it today without using it. Very disappointed!!

I will say that's the first time I've heard of an issue like that, if you tried another one I bet you wouldn't have that issue, but I've also been in your shoes where the first time I order something it's wrong and I can never really get back to the same interest level. ❤️So sorry you had that experience!

    Great video. I filled the palette but I can't start painting. Why? Because I couldn't figure out how to keep paints in the wells not contaminated by other colors while painting. And every video about this palette is fast forwarding the painting stage and I cannot catch the steps while mixing paint :)) I have a Pelikan opaque watercolor set and all the cakes are messy with other colors because when I adjust the mixes I continuously get one color or other. Rinsing between every touch would be too tedious. Any help appreciated...

      Such a good question, I do rinse between colors but I also use a pallet knife sometimes!!

    • @izlence
      @izlence 6 месяцев назад

      I want to update after my trial for other viewers. The color on the brush doesn't want to leave the bristles too much anyway because paint in the well doesn't want to take it :) Because it's creamy opposed to my Pelikan set's solid cakes. So it doesn't get too messy after all. Remaining little bits can easily be collected by a cleanish brush. So it's really a game changer palette for me.
