Character development? Lol, Cid just thought his sister had chuunibyou, that's why he suddenly looked caring, he just felt relatable because he had experienced it
I can see you guys are confused, so here's things to clear it up:
1. Witch of Calamity Aurora is also Demon Diabolos. Revealed to us in S1.
2. She is the original i.e she is where the blood of Progenitor Vampires and Possessed comes from. Her blood evolved and diverged (mutated) to form two different types. One became vampires, one became Possessed.
3. Possessed are those with high% blood of Demon Diabolos/Aurora. Because its like a disease, and due to "Magic Overload" they turn into those blobs of rot that you saw in S1 Ep2. The rot that turns into Alpha later. Possessed are the people who are blobs of rot or were cured and are now normal.
4. These blobs form because of Magic Overload. And Cid can cure them. He cured his sister Claire, everyone in the Shadow Garden and Princess Rose.
5. When the Sanctuary gets destroyed by Cid in S1, Aurora vanishes because she (her memory) was kept alive by Sanctuary. She loves Cid basically.
6. Since those rots are shared ancestory with Vampires, Queen Elisabeth can control and manipulate them.
7. The Church Divine Blessings (Cult) wants Demon's blood to perfect immortality. So they use the people with Magic Overload to experiment and then kill them when they are useless. Alpha was in the process of being killed when Cid rescues her in Ep2 of S1.
8. From LN, it can be infered that since Claire has both types of blood i.e Vampire and Possessed, because of she was born with Possessed blood and she was bit by Queen Elisabeth. She is the best host for Aurora who is the original because Aurora is the ancestor of both bloodlines and both types of blood come from her. She lives in Claire and helps Cid.

about number 5. so was her arm not actually there? it was just her memory and is she still alive somewhere cuz olivier only cut off her arm right? or is her arm all that was alert of her
@@babatunde8440 No, her arm was there. But the physical version of her (her as a memory) you see is probably tied to the Sanctuary. She says once the Centre of Sanctuary is destroyed, she will vanish. So I think she was not bound because of the arm, but the arm existed separately from the Centre, while it was Centre which bound her.
The scene where the arm breaks and we see Aurora fly towards Cid is probably the author's way of creatively showing that she is free from her prison and can now vanish.
Not sure if guys saw it, but there was also a post credit scene.

I remember in the manga, Cid took a hit from Elizabeth because he was sluggish because of all the coins. But the result remained the same. The fight didn't last very long but it was well animated :]

What Aurora meant with "I'm the Original" is that, we know from the first season that The Witch of Calamity is just another form or name of the Demon Diabolos.
The possessed are all related to the hero's, and the heroes were infused with Diabolos cells, and the vampires also come from Diabolos' blood. So all their strength and such is derived from Aurora/Diabolos.

In this season i'm simply sitting with big curiosity on how (if it happens) Rose is gonna react when she finds out the person she's pledged her alligance to is Cid
sorry to disappoint u but rose wont find out anytime soon about it although she had a doubt about cid/shadow identity connection but untill now in light novel apart from some shadow garden core members only aurora and nishino akane knows about cid/shadow identity.
