Best video of the mini out there. Thanks! I'm sold! The battery is the game changer. I've been using the Fender Mustang Micro for the ability to play along with songs, but I am tired wearing headphones.
Can’t wait for mine to arrive! I just found out about this last week because of the Go, but I’m more interested in the mini. This video sealed my decision, I ordered and will be arriving next week.
Even though it was pretty much to the end, I learned that you can tap the little button to be able to loop certain sections of various style jams they offer. Thank you.
Nice video Steve. Glad you used the speaker in the amp. Another guy, who I like, did a nice review but seemed to run it right into DAW. Your tones sounded good on the mini speaker. I’ve got mine on order now. Looking forward to having a nice coffee table practice amp. Go red Sox!!
The only problem I see with that many choices is the fact that once you find some you like, Or create some you like unless you save them to the presets it becomes next to impossible to recreate it without really remembering every setting that was set for the sound you were looking for. And like the list that is in the cloud it becomes a never ending list of settings.
Excellent, informative review. Also, I'm pleased to see that your fingers resemble my own and not Steve Vai's, which, considering how well you play, gives me hope for the future.
@@RamirezFlores Thank you, everyone I know that has one loves the flexibility but hates the sound. Yet you say that on Social Media and people disagree so harshly.
Its a brilliant little amp with big sound... Now they have released the spark 150 watt powered amp so you can use any of the three sparks at full band rehearsal and gigs... I think that they will release a newer version of the spark 40 soon because they can really improve on that model especially with the sound quality and muffled bass issue.

For someone who wanted to use it as a practice amp on a bass guitar on occasion could this work? or would the regular spark 40 be better? I am curious if the passive radiator beats the port on the regular spark for low end.
Get the full sized spark and a battery pack off amazon for it ( YT videos show which one to get ) trust me its is a MUCH better deal. The battery packs are like $30 and you can literally jam for 8+ hours straight anywhere you want with no issues. Your tablet or phone will likely run out, before the spark does. Looks actually impressive ..
Did you buy the Mini or did they give it to you for free?
I picked up a yamaha THR and Micro Mustang this past year…but I still want one of these Sparks lol. Endless GAS.
I stand by the Yamaha quality over the years. Spark would be great if I didn't have one.
@@dannops That’s awesome! Only had my THR about a year so far but I’m loving the features and sounds, solid quality. Amazing how far these practice amps have come along. Do you find it helpful to have both the THR and Spark? I’m trying to find any reason I can to talk myself into having both haha.
@@rocktorrocks If you are looking for patches then the Spark has a much better community. If you have an idea as to your sound I would say just stay with the Yamaha. I have brought the Spark & Yamaha when I go camping but otherwise I use a 5w Princeton as a practice amp or my Boss Waza Air. Love my tubes.
@@dannops Thanks, yeah I’m not a huge patch user. I like my 2-3 simple sounds that I tweak as needed. Will stick to the THR, and put the money toward the tube amp I’m saving for. Def nothing beats the real deal.
Uncle Steve… you’re awesome…. 🤘 subscribed
Now I Just need a 2x12 called the Thunder. Then at gigs, people will ask what I'm bringing, and just look at them through my hair tucked under my tye dye headband and say '
I'm bringing the Thunder.
Great demo. I purchased the first version last fall. Still haven’t used it yet. Been liking the Fender LT25, since I can’t use my Marshall where I live.
I like that it has a battery. But, if I’m out camping, I should be playing acoustic by the fire………..
Instead of a Spark amp with my Eart headless guitar !!!
Great guitar BTW !! Thanks for the convincing !!
Nice video very informative and thanks for sharing. Positive Grid modeling amps again coming short. They dont even have a windows client for PC users. For Amp *Sounds and *Patches Fender Mustang V2 hands down the best modeling amps made over last 10 years. Oh the Mustangs dont have blue tooth... wow guess I have to play my guitar and not my phone .. lol!
Clean tones?
mini or spark 40?
Fantastic video man!
Does anyone know if the Spark Control footswitch will also work with the Mini?
As always, great review SFB.
