    The only problem I see with that many choices is the fact that once you find some you like, Or create some you like unless you save them to the presets it becomes next to impossible to recreate it without really remembering every setting that was set for the sound you were looking for. And like the list that is in the cloud it becomes a never ending list of settings.

    Its a brilliant little amp with big sound... Now they have released the spark 150 watt powered amp so you can use any of the three sparks at full band rehearsal and gigs... I think that they will release a newer version of the spark 40 soon because they can really improve on that model especially with the sound quality and muffled bass issue.

    Great videos Steve, I was one of the first people to go out and "pre-order" the Spark Mini. Was supposed to be delivered in April now they are hoping that it might be delivered in "June" this isn't the first time Positive Grid has done this. Hi Steve. You can actually power the original Spark with a battery. I purchased a battery power bank on Amazon, that is the same voltage and power, that the Spark requires and it comes with the adaptor to connect to the power input of the Spark. The power bank is about the size of a cell phone and can easily be attached to the back of the Spark with some velcro, if one wants to do so. The power bank powered the Spark for 3 practice sessions in the same amount of weeks, without needing a recharge. Just thought I would share. :)

    first off GREAT review! >> How would you compare the low end bass sound on this compared to the regular spark 40? For someone who wanted to use it as a practice amp on a bass guitar on occasion could this work? or would the regular spark 40 be better? I am curious if the passive radiator beats the port on the regular spark for low end.

      @RaptorV1USA 2 года назад +4

      Get the full sized spark and a battery pack off amazon for it ( YT videos show which one to get ) trust me its is a MUCH better deal. The battery packs are like $30 and you can literally jam for 8+ hours straight anywhere you want with no issues. Your tablet or phone will likely run out, before the spark does. At nearly $200 for this thing atm..(!!) you are better off spending another $75 to get the full sized Spark 40 and an 8-10hr. external batt pack for it. I used hook and loop tape to stick it to the back 100% portable and self contained.

      The original Spark sounded terrible and no one seemed to mention that in YT videos. We had to buy it to learn the truth. I don't think that we will get the truth about how the mini sounds until we find out for ourselves. These videos are really just long commercials.

    • @ReachingWisdom
      @ReachingWisdom 2 года назад

      Totally disagree The Spark 40 yet "so called" bass heavy can be Equalized. Maybe I am biased because I play Bass also but "sounds terrible " that is an absurd statement. Just got the Mini and everyone got their wish except me I wish it had a little more bass to it. The presets on the top of the Amp are trash except one but who uses those anyway. My issue is with smart jam not working and yes I have updated. The genre preset ones work but when I click create the app crashes and yes again I updated. Also having an issue getting Reaper to read the Mini as an AI but never had a problem with the 40. Well all in all ill figure it all out but thanks for the video and I'm only 10 minutes in! TY!

      Was advised to adjust the noise gate which helped. However, for some presets, I have to disable the noise gate or turn down the threshold almost entirely to prevent the sound from dropping. But at least, I can now adjust it.

Killing two stones with one bird. Just hope it sounds better than the Flamma portable amp I just bought off Amazon for $80 . Not a bad amp for 80$ it's got a drum machine and a few built in effects, but it's quirky. So for $120 more I'm hoping its worth spending the extra 100 or so bucks. Can we play small gigs with it by connecting it to an amp?

    Hey guys! I’m looking for some advice. I’m a basic tube amp guy who likes to dial in a dirty (solo) sound on my amp and move seamlessly from clean to mean with my guitar controls. Can the Spark do that?

    I have the original Spark amp, added a 20+ hour battery to run it and haven't looked back. Battery>TalentCell Lithium ion Battery Pack NB7101 from Amazon

    Did you buy the Mini or did they give it to you for free?

    I picked up a yamaha THR and Micro Mustang this past year…but I still want one of these Sparks lol. Endless GAS.

      I stand by the Yamaha quality over the years. Spark would be great if I didn't have one.

      @@dannops That’s awesome! Only had my THR about a year so far but I’m loving the features and sounds, solid quality. Amazing how far these practice amps have come along. Do you find it helpful to have both the THR and Spark? I’m trying to find any reason I can to talk myself into having both haha.

      @@rocktorrocks If you are looking for patches then the Spark has a much better community. If you have an idea as to your sound I would say just stay with the Yamaha. I have brought the Spark & Yamaha when I go camping but otherwise I use a 5w Princeton as a practice amp or my Boss Waza Air. Love my tubes.

      @@dannops Thanks, yeah I’m not a huge patch user. I like my 2-3 simple sounds that I tweak as needed. Will stick to the THR, and put the money toward the tube amp I’m saving for. Def nothing beats the real deal.

    Now I Just need a 2x12 called the Thunder. Then at gigs, people will ask what I'm bringing, and just look at them through my hair tucked under my tye dye headband and say '
    I'm bringing the Thunder.

    Great demo. I purchased the first version last fall. Still haven’t used it yet. Been liking the Fender LT25, since I can’t use my Marshall where I live.
    I like that it has a battery. But, if I’m out camping, I should be playing acoustic by the fire………..
    Instead of a Spark amp with my Eart headless guitar !!!
    Great guitar BTW !! Thanks for the convincing !!

    Nice video very informative and thanks for sharing. Positive Grid modeling amps again coming short. They dont even have a windows client for PC users. For Amp *Sounds and *Patches Fender Mustang V2 hands down the best modeling amps made over last 10 years. Oh the Mustangs dont have blue tooth... wow guess I have to play my guitar and not my phone .. lol!
