For taking me along with you and seeing this beautiful beautiful island of yours, everything was so pretty here. Hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy and Debbie. Thanks for a wonderful journey today and seeing so many beautiful beaches add mountains.
Thank you for all the great suggestions as my mother and I are traveling here very soon and we wanted some pointers for those picture perfect beaches you see in Hawaiian photos lol but we are most excited to explore the volcanoe as well for our very first time in Hawaii ever! 🤍
WOW! 😮 absolutely beautiful. I’m travelling here in just over 2 weeks. I’ve only ever been to Maui❤ and Oahu. Maui is very special to me, but with everything going on I wanted to respect the island and not travel there at this time. So I am excited to see what the big island is like. And it looks amazing!
We love Maui as well and are also heartbroken by the tragedy. Just pray for everyone there. Big Island has become our favorite island. It is amazing and we hope you have a great time there!
That was interesting because some of the beaches were unique, not usually listed as "the best". In that respect I absolutely loved Honomalino beach because nobody else was there! That beach requires less than 1 mile hike. But for us the best beach for snorkeling on Big Island was Two-step (taking into account that Captain Cook is not easily accessible).
We haven't been to Honomalino Beach but it's now on our list for next time, thanks for sharing!! We also agree Two-Step is the best snorkeling on the Big Island!!
Kua Bay is my #1 also, simply beautiful water and sand, without having to walk far out over rocks. Only drawbacks are lack of shady trees and parking lot quickly filling up.
Make sure to bring slippahs if the sun is out at Ho’Okena or Honomalino Beaches. The salt and pepper (gray) sand will quickly warm up the bottom of your feet.
The never went to Mauna Kea resort beach it seems. It is just up the road from Hapuna Beach. Much better than Hapuna. They did not hike to Makawena beach either. Not to far from Kua beach but it is a hike. 👍
Hi guys, loved your video! As we are planning to go Hawaii in March can you please let me know if Hapuna beach is good for swimming/ snorkling? Are waters over there rather calm meaning not big crushing waves that would make swimming impossible …?
It is a great beach for swimming and just floating, not crushing waves at all. There is some snorkeling you can do off to the sides of the beach and a small area in the middle of the beach. Good Luck!
It's called "red road' not red dirt road. The original road had red cinder mixed with the asphalt giving it a red color. When the county repaved it, folks tried to get red dye added to the mix but it was too expensive.
@@pippilongstocking-qs7fm yeah. That’s not real. I’ve that road my entire childhood and my folks are still there, definitely called red road because of its former hue. There have been a few murders on that road, the most notorious being Dana Ireland.
First let me say I liked your video but you are not pronouncing the name of Ho'okena wrong it's not Hokena and it's far from a secret beach it's actually very ell known by everyone and a popular camping spot
Appreciate the comment....and the correct pronunciation of the Beach. We had just never discovered it on our own found it after some locals told us about it. Beautiful location!
Learn how to spell and pronounce the places before talking about them on social media. Especially if you have been coming to the island for as many times as you say you have. All out of due respect. Mahalo.
I live in glenwood and surprise.. I still haven't been to pohoiki since just before the 2018 eruption.. I still haven't seen the new beach yet.. Hawaiian time.. someday I will get down there.. I'm glad to see none of my favorite beaches made this list...
Great video 📹 👍 and great information.
Love all these Beaches ⛱️. HOOKENA IS MY FAVORITE OF THESE.

Kua Bay was my favorite. The waves are strong enough to body surf!!!!!!
Nice share guys 😮 we love any Hawaii Beach famous or not 😮
Thanks for sharing friend 💯✅
Thank you & we couldn't agree more, every beach is amazing in Hawaii!!
The Big Island is our favorite!!! Beautiful list of beaches.
Thank you!! Can't wait to return & venture to some of your recommended beaches!!
Some of the surf on these beaches can be dangerous as hell.
Thank you!
Great video and very informative …… mahalo 🤙
Ugh love, love the big island! Great video and you two are adorable 💕

Really beautiful 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Sure glad they didn’t mention my favorite beach, less people know about it the happier I stay 😎🤙🏽

Helps to get there early for parking. Helps to bring an umbrella too!
I live less than 10 minutes from Kua Bay! 12 minutes if you count the time it takes to park (assuming you go very early).
Make sure to bring slippahs if the sun is out at Ho’Okena or Honomalino Beaches. The salt and pepper (gray) sand will quickly warm up the bottom of your feet.

@@retirementlife4us485 ok thank you so much!
Hapuna, not Happens Beach!
Onekahakaha is the most family friendly beach, if you have young kids.
Thanks for sharing that beach. We will for sure check it out on our next visit!
Some local stuff needs to stay local that’s coming from a Kansas tourist
You guys are awesome! We were there 2 years ago on the Kona side, so beautiful. Love the page
Thanks so much!! We're hoping to go back again soon!!
Yes! You got food from Super J's!
It's the BEST!!!

Really appreciate that info and history! I didn't hear all that. Thank You!
It is called the "red road" but the reason I heard would definitely keep tourists away. It was a horrific crime that occurred there many years ago😢
@@pippilongstocking-qs7fm yeah. That’s not real. I’ve that road my entire childhood and my folks are still there, definitely called red road because of its former hue. There have been a few murders on that road, the most notorious being Dana Ireland.
Yep I remember the red color in the pavement with the rock used in the asphalt back in the early 2000's all since paved over.
Kua is not good in winter😢
You spelled “Hapuna” incorrectly.
Thanks. Now more tourists come and no peace of mind.
It's Pohoiki, not Pohiki.
Appreciate you catching that….thanks!

👶🏽🏖️The Kiki Beach my favorite chill spot most friendly locals & ohana MAHALO SO MUCH 💖
Is that south of Kona?
