I’ve been waiting for this overview before i bought this. I was hoping it would have the second volume included. Despite it being a different writer. Now that I know it includes more I’ll pick it up. This channel is vital to my collection. Thanks for the help and hard work.

@@fingerprints2983 yeah because Simone was the only writer that understood the character. I read this when it came out stopped and then years ago re-read it, the art is great, but Alan Heinberg did not understand WW like Perez or Rucka, and it shows in his story... By the time Simone takes over she basically undoes most of the character and relationship work set up by Heinberg, but go and read it you might get some level of entertainment that i did not.
Thank you Omar! Really helpful look. Wonder Woman really needs more love in OHC format. I really wish DC would reprint Gail Simone's Omni. That went way too quick. And the obvious Greg Rucka run. Everything. Including the Rebirth run which was really good and deserves to be collected. Take care and peace everyone.
She deserves more Omnis. They unfortunately canceled the GA vol. 5 a while back, and are now soliciting SA vol. 2. I'd like to see the Bronze started (post-"Diana Prince" stories". As a WW collector, I want to get all of this filled in, a full "War of the Gods" wasn't needed since the major stuff was in the Perez volumes.
Awesome, great video. I'm currently working on a custom bind for this stuff all the way through Amazons Attack, but I just had to get this deluxe and double dip because the artwork is so great.
I have the trades for Rucks's first run and rhe Rebirth hardcovers. I look at them and hope for an omni one day. Idk i just want everything all together instead of having it separated. But the artwork in this book is beautiful.
Great overview Omar I did read these stories in singles back in the day and hope to get this deluxe edition hardcover of Wonder Woman Who Is Wonder Woman? the artwork by the Dotsons is so great !!!
I wished I could get some help. I am very new to comic reading and reading a few here and there but I started Wonder Woman Year one and really liked it a lot but I didn't know which ones to get after and the order I should read em.
The perfect introduction to Wonder Woman is three Omnis by G. Perez, then there is 2 tradepaperbacks by Messner Loebs, then three hardcovers by John Byrne, then Phil Jimenez Omnibus, then three tradepaperbacks by Greg Rucka and Omnibus by Gail Simone But this is older material - alternatively good place to start is New 52 Wonder Woman by Cliff Chiang, you can pick Omnibus that covers majority of New 52 era and the finish it by getting three hardcovers by Meredith Finch. Then Rebirth continuity begins with three OHC with by Greg Rucka followed James Robinson and Willow Wilson.
The Simone WW omnibus may have the shortest print run ever for DC, it came and went instantly without restocks. Mostly due to Simone not getting paid the amount she wanted. The fixed it for her batgirl Omnibus. But it still means that WW omni is sought after.
It's funny this gets a deluxe edition, and Rucka just a collected Soft Cover... This run was so bad, I think it leads to amazon attack which was horrible. Then Gail Simone came and was able to make something of it but she undid most of what Heinberg Set up...
I feel the same, most Matt’s absorb the ink leading to blurrier lines and less vibrant Color’s. Most glossy paper has the ink sit on top of the page, no absorption, cleaner presentation. The matt paper in Cosmic odyssey and Batman year two is the worst type of matt in my opinion. Rough to look at.
Does this come right before Rucka's run, or are there issues by Heinberg before that? I really hope more post-crisis WW omni's get reprinted, I've got a Perez vol 1, War of the Gods, and that's it...and some Rebirth Deluxe's but I could really go for finishing the Perez run, and reading Simone and Jimenez's omni's too. 😄

"Who is Wonder Woman?" ... I don't think DC really has any idea. A great character with one of the most iconic costumes ever and they almost never know what to do to get her book to sell in significant numbers.
I assume it's the magic mirror origin causing that, if...that's the origin she's going with this time. Donna being a magic reflection given sentience and being her own person and all, to be Diana's friend when she was young...I think. 😅
I’m praying DC do a deluxe for Geoff Johns Superman issues with Gary Frank. Legion of Super Heroes and Brainiac deserve the deluxe treatment.
Agreed but make it an Omni with Braniac & Secret Origin
Yes. They need to finish off his run in OHC.
💯👏👏👏
There's certainly enough content to warrant a Geoff Johns Superman Omnibus.
“Geoff Johns” and “omnibus” are the best collaboration in comics…instant purchase
