Love the work you've done on this model! I'm currently working on an orange version. Came back to this video to see how you did everything. It's a lot of work! I cheated and just did orange over the base layer of yellow, using that as my under coat. I did some streaking with my own version of paint (dark slate alkyd mixed with water). Tomorrow I get to buff some wear into it, And maybe add some striping. You've done an excellent job with yours!
Thank you. Yes, it was quite a lot of work, but I think I over complicated it a bit. Could have skipped a few layers and the result would have probably been the same. I think an orange one would look great. Looking forward to seeing it. 😁👍🕹️
Thank you very much. I think the main thing I learned from this paint job was to not overdo everything. I think I put down about 10 layers of paint, which in hindsight was way too much. The result was that the paint was so thick that I was unable to reach the “rust” layer. Also take foto’s when you disassemble the truck, it is always handy for reference when re-assembling.
@@SouthernRCGarage ok, thanks. yes i also do excessive things during the painting process, such as ‘ah this is not thick enough, etc.’, and i also lack patience to wait for the paint to dry. thanks for sharing your experience mate.
Thank you. I used DJ Crawler Super Large Soft Sticky 1.0 Crawler Tires 68 * 26mm that I ordered from Amazon. Have not tried them out yet, but will probably test them over the coming weekend. They are not a perfect fit, but with the light truck it seems they will work. And I think they look good. Here is the link: a.co/d/9O8BjXV
I painted mine too and don’t think I will again. It was fun but for the shelf and to brag to people. I hardly use the truck now and it’s a shelf queen. I would never take it out because my 10 scale out perform any day. Great was to kill time and feel good no doubt
I always prefer 1/10 scale as well. Much more capable. I still run the mn82 as well though. With the weathered paint job, scratches will probably improve the look. 😁. 👍👍🕹️🕹️
Thank you. No, I didn’t use glue. Just put everything back together the way it came apart. Mine still has the stock electronics. Only thing that I have upgraded so far is the tires.
I used Streaking Rust Effects from Ammo. It does make quite a difference and gives a great result. www.migjimenez.com/en/ammo-paints/181-streaking-rust-effects-amig-1204.html
I stretched the rubber a bit and they went on quite easily over the wheels without any problems. They are a little bit smaller, but it wasn’t too difficult.
Hello friend. You are correct. I ordered mine at a shop in Natal I think, but you can also order from rc.six33.online/product/mn82-toyota-land-cruiser-1-12-lc79-rock-crawler-rtr/ . I have ordered from rc.six33 twice. Excellent fast service and very good communication. 👍

good job bro, do you have any tips based on youre experience from paint this RC like this?

Wow great looking toyota! Really love that blue color😊 Could you tell me what tires used to upgrade?

これ 私も分解 塗装したかったのですが 割と面倒なので辞めました。
近々納車される軽トラの青色に近づけようとしてましたが諦めました。
でもこちらで青いの見られて良かったです。
Thank you very much.
I enjoyed it to disassemble and repaint it and am quite happy with how it came out.
very nice Rig thanks for the post.😊😊👍👍🛻🚙🚛🚜🚜🚧🚧🚧🚧

Looks great, did you glue them or nah?
Any tips for an ESC, the lack of drag brake is terrible. I love driving mine but the drag brake is a killer.

What paint did you use when you wiped the mn82 with a towel? Is it a tamiya weathering paint? It makes the car more detailed and realistic

The rubber was normally placed on the factory discs? or you cut it somehow, the inner diameter is 24 mm and the factory discs are larger
I stretched the rubber a bit and they went on quite easily over the wheels without any problems. They are a little bit smaller, but it wasn’t too difficult.
@@SouthernRCGarage Ok, thanks🙏
Link of the tires?
Hi there. Here is the link to the tires. a.co/d/27N5soL
can u tell me which grid of sandpaper do you use?
I used 1200 grit, but I think something little courser will also work fine.
Taking a shot in the dark here but the acsent is purely South African? If so then i know i will totaly get my MN cruiser then
