I am Italian, and I say if Bulgaria would have not lost against Italy, they would have beaten Brazil and win World Cup 94'... they where a great team in 1994 with Stoichkov.

@@superlex611 from 90-94 he was for sure. After the world cup he wasnt the same. In 94/95 he was good but not as good as he used to be. After that he wasnt anymore on world class level like he was before. But still he was a fascinating player i loved to watch. Pure entertainment.

Stoichkov was one of my favourite players when I was growing up in Ireland in the 80/90s. Absolutely loved the way he played. Tried to copy him out in the garden!!! Not only was he technically brilliant but he played with such passion. You could see he loved playing football. He was so unpredictable & was always on the verge of losing his temper haha. A lunatic at times!!! But boy could he play. His left foot was precise and he could hit the ball like a rocket. Lethal finisher, great at running with the ball and he was a winner. What a legend. Great for Bulgaria(when underdogs) and for a top side like Barca. That Barca dreamteam was exceptional with him, Laudrup(so underrated), Koeman, Pep and Romario(for a short time), Bakero and other class players in it. The football they played was amazing. Loved that jersey with the white stripe down the arm.
Loved Stoichkov after seeing him at USA 94... I used to get mixed up with him an Gheorgi Hagi... I think they have similar styles an defo look similar..... two of my favourites from the 90s for sure...

We needed a win, it was 1:1 until the last second of regular time. Hristo, Lubo and Emil have grown up together in CSKA). Lubo missed USA 94. Hristo gave him his golden boot award from USA 94. Another all time great Bulgarian player - Trifon Ivanov. I feel like crying when I think of it... He passed away suddenly 5 years ago. Hristo was crying like a baby.
