Lmfao I be thinking this all the time when I see studio footage, like why is it always recorded on potato cam 😂 at this point I wonder if it’s like an unspoken rule 🤣
SSL has the most clean sound you gonna find for mixing, so…. Even the official 9K plugin emulation by SSL hasn’t a drive stage, it just have a great compressor, great gate and great EQ, that’s the real SSL sound. I also got an SSL Six console, tiny but powerful and it couldn’t be cleaner, it’s incredible. If you wanna harmonic distortion go for Neve, something with tubes, or buy a specific unit (analog or digital) for adding saturation to your sound.
@@carlosmart4236 While I am so beyond tired of hearing people talk about saturation already, if you want 'that thing', use something with wound transformers. SSL's (especially the 9000-J and beyond) are designed to be fast, clean, transparent, and have ultra-wide bandwidth.
its the 120 volt / when you merge signals at low voltage like 12 or even 18 volt mostly witch is most of the lower grade mixers and equipment operate internally on the multi signals consume the head room/ making unwanted distortion and clipping/ but at 120volts no matter how many signals witch translate to tracks you use you can push the limits and afford to try to make color that can translate to other lower formats without loosing cohesiveness/ that is why even du i don't have an 120 volt SSL make sure my finial summing is in analogue and at at least 64volt
bro i’m using my neve orbit make a big difference when im mixing into it plugins sounds amazing plus using my lynx hilo converters clock with my antelope discrete 8 sending the signals to it love it i also got the maag eq and dangerous compressor
is any of those running at high voltage ? if no then my point will not come across / you'll know and understand it when you experience it @@shevyjohn9308
it sure can but fully in the box still sound flat and lacks depth and 3D give no matter what plugin emulation being used i didn’t say you can’t make good music tho
@@shevyjohn9308 If your mixes sound flat in the box then you aren't good at mixing its as simple as that. This is false, any engineer or producer that tells me this automatically off the rip I know they are not good at what they do.
Why does it look like they recorded DNA in 1982
😂😂😂😂😂facts
😂

I cant imagine having to do mix recalls using a whole SSL board, especially when youre working multiple mixes a day for other songs
The more significant the song the more you can re live the process
...That's what assistants are for
Ssl have a computer in them specifically for recall
@@SuperFake777you still have to go through and turn all the knobs to the correct positions, including bussing etc.
@@MiggyCrash and it will still sound slightly different

I never understood why most of the plugin emulations never really emulated the saturation which I feel like is main thing about the sound
this is why i use the brainworx ssl

Console 1 is pretty nice for this😊
@@SaturnVoyager11 its not the most aggressive thing but it's still part of what everyone talks about it's the main part of "the analog sound"
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, your channel is UNDEFEATED. I genuinely love your content - thank you for bringing us these nuggets!
Perfect timing with this one
Ahhh was so happy to see you used a snippet from the podcast 🎉🎉
The edits during Manny's part 😂 thanks for another great video
This makes a lot pf sense why I love my 9K emulation by SSL, it’s basically my go-to after testing all kinds of 💩 emulated consoles
The plugin alliance 9000j?👀
the G in george T stands for GOATED nah fr i appreciate you
"did u just wipe your hands on me?"
Next best thing is the SSL Native bundle.
Where did u find that clip with Ali mixing DNA?
