I have been a Nina Hagen fan since I was 12 years old I even idolized her too the point of dying my hair pink, still love her. In Northern California she was only played on college stations and independent school radio's but I had an Aunt who introduced me too Nina , Bauhaus ,Siouxie Sioux and other music at a young age ,which i feel well rounded and always have had an open mind because of this. Nina is still my influence and music preference today at the age of 42. Love you Nina!

There is a radio show called Over the Edge that is on Berkley’s college radio station, KPFA. When Don was alive, he used to have her songs incorporated in his show. People would also call in and play her songs.

Me will say from the start : i am from Argentina , this album and others from Nina Hagen were also printed in this country by CBS Music . Anyway this isn`t the topic i want to tell here : despite i was only 16 years old when i listened this song Russian Reggae and previously we payed attention to Born in Xixax & Iki Maskà from the great album Nonsexmonckrock ... well , i will tell this : thanks to the genius of Nina Hagen , those who had sharper ears understood since those 35 years ago that something of big concern would happen to the Russian land, not exactly so bad as nowaday`s Ukraine conflicts but surely whatever a little mess could happen in the (right now`s !) future . Just pay a visit to the composition Iki Maskà and we`ll all undertand how the world is still playing to split it among two biggest bosses

It is the second time I hear this song. The first time was in 1980s in Eastern Europe where I was growing up. Back then I listeened to it on a crappy radio from a jammed Western radio station. I was under my bedsheets and pillows o that nobody could hear that I was listening to that. Things have changed but it seems not all...

@@ladyboywonder9139 Thank you! Yes, I am from Russia and lately I am embarrassed to answer this question. I really cried when I read your comment. Your kind comment was very supportive because now I am very afraid of a negative reaction. I just want peace and people don't hate each other for the color of their passport. Sooner or later the war will end and we will have to live together again in peace and build relationships. and let's hope that there will be no nuclear war, because world leaders also probably want to continue to live. I wish you, your family and friends all the best.

At least I can speak for myself and say that I understand that there are many people in Russia who would do not support the current ‘ situation’ I’m sorry for you EVERYONE involved right now . Let’s just hope, pray, wish, envision … what ever it takes , that this ends quickly and safely (!!!) do your best and stay well. @@ladyboywonder9139 you're right, a lot of people don't support it and there are a lot of those who keep silent because they try to get problems (and they are unpleasant to put it mildly). Many people from Europe say that if you are silent, then you support. but in Russia it doesn't work that way. the entire population was born either in the USSR or in modern Russia, and this whole system did not initially involve a choice. these people did not grow up in a democracy. My relatives told me that in the USSR, if you came to the polls, then there was only one candidate on the ballot and everything was official,
solemnly. And now any rallies are very severely suppressed. if you don't agree you can't just go out and say it like in europe. people just want a quiet life. I really hope that in the future everything will change for the better and I will live to see the moment when there will be a feeling of peace and freedom in Russia and Ukraine. sorry i wrote too much
