The storms in Spain are quite spectacular…..but in future you might just want to sit it out as the roads can barely cope with the torrents of water. Keep safe and keep smiling, regardless of what is thrown at you but please be careful of the feral cats. Today I’ve learned how to change the leisure battery and reversing might on my MH…..glad it wasn’t a tyre mind!!!😅🥹
Happy to see that you are back on the road. It looks like we were getting similar weather this month with torrential rain plus thunder & lightening. It’s always nice to be tucked up in your van listening to the rain bouncing off the roof 😂

Hi Mazzy and Dan- I’ve been thinking about your fridge probs. You can get some decent ones that would fit in your garage. All you need is a 12v socket.
You must have been frustrated and bored with the long wait to get your tyre puncture fixed. Not being able to get the wheel off just added to the problem and your waiting time. Fingers crossed that you won’t have any more problems like that. It’s great that it got sorted and you were able to get on your way again. I would have been the same with the cats, they are cute. A lot of these will be feral cats which aren’t as tame and friendly as fully domesticated ones. You almost had a mobile chattery there! And to add to your recent woes, the weather has taken a turn for the worse again. Things can only get better guys, hang on in there! I’ll see you soon.🌨✋

Glad you got sorted eventually !! Yesterday when I saw vlog I know it was going to be a long day . Also super unlucky to have that happen with empty fridge and cupboards Yes in Spain same brand and model of tyre on both sides of same axle . They must not have had your tyre in stock that i s why both were changed . Too late for Dan and Mazy but this is why I would not drive without a spare. Imagine you had a ferry to catch. I kept the weight off the rear of my van ( payload reasons ) by fitting my spare under the middle of my van. If interested in how i did this search Got spare wheel under my van in motorhomefacts forum Photos on post . Dan did you keep the other non damaged tyre so you can get a steel wheel when back in uk to act as a spare.

Just wondering if you have thought about getting some staple food for the cupboard for emergency food e.g. Pasta, rice, tinned food, you can buy so much that doesn't need to be refridgerated. That's what we do when we are on our travels in our van. Safe travels xx

Back in the 1990s.. I had to get two new tires.. Mine are Radial Tires.. If you replace one.. or two.. you have to replace them all... Well I got cheap and only had my two front tires changed.. Front Wheel drive... I was driving to town hit a small patch of slush on the road... my rear tires, which should of been changed to.. broke traction... In slow motion, I could see my front end of my van heading straight for a cliff, watched the windshield turn into a spider web and then my van flipped over 2 times... I ended up crawling out on the ceiling of my van through broken glass.. into the snow.. Someone fishing in the Madison River near the road heard the crash... he came to my help... wrapped my head in one of his expensive sports shirts because I had a cut below my left eye... An ambulance came, took me to the hospital 40 miles away.. I was just fine.. but they worried about my neck.. had a few stitches.. My van was done for... and it was because I didn't do what I should of done, and got all 4 tires replaced instead of two... So feel blessed you had your flat where you did... and blessed that it's all going to be ok.. Can't be cheap when it comes to you vehicle... Never... God bless you both.. get on your knees and thank the lord you're all ok.. and not crawling out on the ceiling of your mobile home... Oh, I did have a flat in the middle of nowhere Nevada, near Area 51, and hours from any help... I waited for hours to.. for that one... But eventually had the tire fixed, at a station near an airforce base and got to see one the countries secret drones take off.. it was out of this world.. I finally got to Las Vegas... and was filled with joy...

Well you are silly for not having emergency provisions all motorhomers normally keep a back up. Remember Spain have a siesta in the afternoon and you must remember no one turns up on time in Spain you don’t need 2 tyres this will be a learning curve for you. On the plus side tyres are cheaper here in Spain. I wouldn’t rely on the restaurant being open GO Shopping stock up

Omg I’m terrified of thunderstorms ⛈️. I don’t mind it during the day . But hate it at night . I know what you mean mazzy , when the lightning is over head it’s sounds more crackly. I hate it . Omg lads the lightning ⚡️ jesus . Scary. I’d say the road was closed because flooding.
I’m sure the breakdown cover only covers the call out costs. I had a breakdown at the NEC in Birmingham a couple of years ago, so as I’m a member I called the RAC, the man that came to us was most apologetic he couldn’t fix it. We had to be taken home to West Sussex on a truck, the costs of transporting us and the car were covered by the RAC. Apparently if we’d had to pay it would have been around £10 per mile, as the trip was about 150 miles our RAC membership paid for itself that night. But if they can’t fix it they get you to somewhere it can be fixed, and you pay for the repairs. In my case the RAC deal is they will take you to your destination so we got taken home. Once it was at home I fixed it myself, with a new power steering rack. We’re off to sunny Spain you said, cant wait to get a bit of sun you said, can’t wait to get a bit of warmth you said. What’s happened Dan? You’ve had cold and a little bit of sun, now you have torrential rain with thunder and lightning. I thought they’d always said “in Spain the rain stays mainly on the plain” It looks horrendous in that storm, I did think it was amusing when Mazzy wasn’t too keen on driving anywhere because of the lightning. She forgot a moving target is more difficult to hit……..unless you drive into a bolt of lightning! Take care guys, stay safe.

They get a lot of flash flooding on the roads in Spain, doesn't matter where you are in Spain. I believe it is because they don't have very good sewers for rain water run off. Glad you got through the tyer problem in one piece xx
Wouldn't worry about the wheel dan. If it's never come off it like binds to the hud. Needs a good wack to get it off. Mazzy the roads in Spain everywhere is like that, when they resurfacing the road they get all the bt, water board and electricity companies then do it all at the same time. Whether in Spain is crazy.. I was once coming over the border into France.. it was a river down the motorway.. I had a coach full of kids tho... scary. Hope your having a good time.

Hi to you both firstly good to know you will be back on the road soon. I've had a flat tyre in France many years ago so know how it feels. For a camping car tyre €160 is a fair price, imagine if you didn't have breakdown cover. Also can you imagine an rac or aa person speaking French German Spanish, I doubt that would happen, thank god for Google translate. I find the Spanish language very difficult, though I speak very good French. Did they moan about the gunge in the tyre, as we have it in our tyres.
Guys you need two tyres for safety reasons a new tyre has more tread on it therefore if you don't change them both one wouldn't be touching the road correctly or taking the weight of the van. Glad your sorted now.

Hi Guys it’s law in Spain that tyres on the the same axle must be the same make and specification. But you can have different makes on the front to the rear providing all tyres are the same specification hope you get my drift.
Perhaps it's a Law in Spain to replace Tyres in Axle pairs?? Notmally not necessary! I suggest making sure all tyres are at correct pressures cold! Maybe the bad one was low and overheated and ruined it? Driving a short distance on a flat will ruin it! Shame about the crap weather! Not a good idea to let the Stray cats in the van, could potentially have flees? We found lots of strays in Greece earlier, Turkey was dogs!
Glad you got sorted in the end. I do believe they do change both the tyres on one axle in Europe even if you only need one, I hope you kept the other good one, could put it on a spare wheel if you buy one sometime (after 7 hours messing about I bet you do !!!)
You guys need to keep some tins for emergencies, can't believe you don't keep any food back just in case. Silly billies x
Your van is on rubber tyres which insulates it which means it’s highly unlikely to ever be hit by lightning

Be careful, Id keep those cats out of your van, probably covered in fleas if they are stray, which will get in your furniture etc.

Mazzy the roads in Spain everywhere is like that, when they resurfacing the road they get all the bt, water board and electricity companies then do it all at the same time.
Whether in Spain is crazy.. I was once coming over the border into France.. it was a river down the motorway.. I had a coach full of kids tho... scary.

I've had a flat tyre in France many years ago so know how it feels.
For a camping car tyre €160 is a fair price, imagine if you didn't have breakdown cover.
Also can you imagine an rac or aa person speaking French German Spanish, I doubt that would happen, thank god for Google translate.
I find the Spanish language very difficult, though I speak very good French.
Did they moan about the gunge in the tyre, as we have it in our tyres.
No they didn't seem to mind.
But you are still without a spare tyre. So if it happens again tomorrow you are going to do it all again.
Guys you need two tyres for safety reasons a new tyre has more tread on it therefore if you don't change them both one wouldn't be touching the road correctly or taking the weight of the van. Glad your sorted now.

Hi Guys it’s law in Spain that tyres on the the same axle must be the same make and specification. But you can have different makes on the front to the rear providing all tyres are the same specification hope you get my drift.
Love following your trip though Spain it’s nice to see videos that aren’t all about the costers, we love the inland Spain

Perhaps it's a Law in Spain to replace Tyres in Axle pairs?? Notmally not necessary! I suggest making sure all tyres are at correct pressures cold! Maybe the bad one was low and overheated and ruined it? Driving a short distance on a flat will ruin it! Shame about the crap weather! Not a good idea to let the Stray cats in the van, could potentially have flees? We found lots of strays in Greece earlier, Turkey was dogs!

Glad you got sorted in the end. I do believe they do change both the tyres on one axle in Europe even if you only need one, I hope you kept the other good one, could put it on a spare wheel if you buy one sometime (after 7 hours messing about I bet you do !!!)
