Thank you for the video. I take a photograph of the sky and landscape separately as well as a photo of the whole' also a quick study on site' I find this helps. Video is a good source as well.
I've been trying to apply your landscape painting advice in general to my work - it's definitely been helping with loosening up, but I had not considered when to use warm v cool in shadows, I'll have to test it out in the future! Maybe it's just the Australian summer but I definitely struggle to connect the shadows up because I find things tend to dry so quickly.
