I gave up the endless rental instability almost seven years ago and am much happier in a tiny camper van. Not perfect but best option until the revolution.
We moved in November after the rent went up several hundred dollars. It was so hard to find another place to live. I had pared our stuff down and was organized, but it was exhausting emotionally and physically. All the best to you and Gary. 😺💜💐
Oh this is so terrible and it’s happening everywhere. The Perth rental crisis is really bad. There just isn’t enough rental accommodation. I think everyone decided to move here after Covid (even though WA was so WACKY for not letting Covid in) and seeing my videos. 😅
I’m in South Florida and I understand. Rental market is crazy expensive and hard to find units. They are renting here place unseen or you lose out 😳
I live an hour from Boston and the rent is outrageous…..
Same here in Norway. Our rent went up 300$ and we could not afford the lovely seaside home anymore. We ended up buying a fixer upper, with is great to be able to do but exhausting too.... Your new place looks stunning. All the best for you and 🐱 in the new home!
It looks really nice! Also I LOVE the night beach footage ✨
I spent 3 years between my parents house in the country to my uncles house in the city to get medical treatments for my tumour. I was going back to school also, then stayed in a hotel for 2 months to do my practicum, then home sat, then stayed at a friends 2 months so i could find my own apartment finally Sept 22/ 23 I found my place and I am sooooooo very content!
As someone who works in the arts field and is an avid arts lover, your cinematography is always on point. It is aesthetically pleasing ☺ wishing all the best with your new move and settling into your new chapter and Gary too ☺
P.s. the rental market I'm Australia is crazy
Thank you! ☺️ Yes. It’s really bad. I feel terrible for all the young people trying to spread their wings. It was so easy to live in WA when I was a young adult. There’s no way anyone could afford to move out of home at 19 while studying and working a tiny bit on the side now. 😢
@@patriciamycyk The ABC posted a relevant online news article today (16 Feb). Haven't read it yet - but it looks informative. The headline says that the Rental Investor sector of the Australian economy is a net negative tax contributor. SO .... as an extremely broad group of property owners ..... they are profiting from increasing property values ..... but NOT contributing to all the state government services that their property valuation is linked too. For example - government schools, hospitals, parks, sport and recreation facilities etc.
I HATE moving. In my bones. I moved in November for an easier commute and will likely move in June and again in September, then again the following June for uni. Nothing makes me more of a hardcore minimalist than the prospect of putting stuff into boxes, transporting them and then unwrapping them later like "why did I keep THIS and MOVE IT WHY." Anyway I hope it went smoothly and you don't have to do it again for a while!
Yeah. I think we really underestimate how much emotional energy (on top of the physical energy) it takes to set up a new home. ❤
@@patriciamycyk Especially if it was an unwanted, more or less forced move :/
Each move is more laborious than the last.
Hope you recover quickly ❤
All the best to you and your precious boy 🌟 😻 as always stunning imagery and photography 🌊 and always makes me smile too 😊Thank you so much for taking us with you on your adventures ❤
Thank you so much! ☺️
A lovely new space. Wishing you and Gary the best
Pretty apartment :) I wish full on carpeting wasn’t the norm here in the US. Directly at odds with my decorating style 😂
We have that problem too! Of course when I saw the polished concrete I nearly peed my pants. 😅😍
Hate carpet! 🎉
You had the energy to make the place yours before moving in, that's great. Lexicon is a great colour when theres lots of natural light - i have lexicon half on the walls too and lexicon quarter on my skirting!
I’ve met quite a few Lexicon fans! It made such a huge difference, I’m so glad I 🤑on it!
Good luck, good times, peace, and happiness!
Your new place looks lovely, and so do you! I am loving the look with the dark roots, it really compliments you well and brings out your features. Very beautiful! Hoping for the best in your new place :)💗
Oh thank you! 🙏
I loved the words on that page so much I hunted down the book. It is such a delightful read. Derp and thought provoking. Thank you so much for highlighting it. ❤❤
You are so welcome! 🤗
Love it!!! Welcome to your new home-you and Gary that is👌
Have followed you through a lot of moves. Its such a huge job and exhausting. Hope you will love your new home. Sweet Gary Jeffries seems to go with the flow. Looking forward to the tour.
Yeah, I feel ya. I moved 2 days before Christmas and I still don't feel 100% settled yet. We bought a home so I feel there's no rush to making things perfect yet and the summer heat doesn't make it so easy to do things around the home 😅
I hope you'll get a lot of energy from being in this new space. I'm wishing you and Gary the best in your new home, and the new place looks wonderful! (LOVE the mirror, it blends so well with the rest)
The pandemic took me across the U.S. to live NE, hated it for 3 years then recently moved back all the way to the Southwest w 3 old cats in tow, each time I’m learning to let go of stuff but it’s so daunting to move, I’ve barely left my new place for the first 2 months😅
@bluegypsy71 Brave lady. I guess your elderly cats are each other's family. They would've found the NE interesting .... squirrels?! Sounds as if the SW is your best soul location (maybe). Is that Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado?
Love how relaxing your videos are. I am living in a 2007 RV i bought for $9,000. Lot rent is $1,100 but utilities are included and stores are close by. I pay for a storage room until an can downsize more. My brother just reduced my mattress box in RV from full size to twin just so I can walk around bed to get to closet. I tried to by a house but outbid. I live off disabilty due to health problems. I do not smoke or spend money on alcohol. Just lots of doctor co-pay costs. Now, I realize I would have been house poor if I bought a house. Contentment and organization are my goals. I am saving money for a larger RV for my "tiny house".
The place looks gorgeous 😍 I was waiting for this video ❤ Happy Valentines 💘
Happy Galentines! 💓
It's amazing how much energy it takes with a fuller new wardrobe.
Kitty looks comfy there!
Welcome to your new hygge place my loveliest Patricia♥️🥰 I wish you have beautiful moments in it and around (I surely love all your night scenes of the sea 🌊🌊) I can't with Gary's reactions and wonderful fury toes 😻😻 and I am sure he is going to be the king 👑 of the apartment soon enough 😹😹 Can't wait to see the whole house tour 👓 and your new and always inspired decorations Until then have a wonderful rest of your week 😘
I just wanted to say you are a badass female role modal and one of my favorite RUclipsrs. I’m a newbie content creator and your work has definitely had a positive impact on me over the years. Best of luck in the new adventure and I feel you- I’m in San Diego in America and I’m paying $2,300 USD for a small studio 🤪
This is so good! I follow you both from Holland and was planning to tip Exploravore your channel! Same vibe with you 2❤
Thank you so much! Oh yeah that’s crazy money 💰
@@Loisjara Same - but from Oz! ☺
Your new house looks amazing❤
Usa market is crazy as well😢😢😢😢😢😢
I recommend the dream I have. Own a tiny house. You can move them with a truck or whatever. I don't know what prices are like in Australia, but it's cheaper to make payments on one, you'd just have to figure out where to put it and what the cost of that would be. I'd probably be saving like $650 each month on rent that way, I just have to save up for the down-payment for it first.
Moving when it wasn't entirely your idea is not fun to say the least. On to a new adventure right? Good luck 😊
Sure. Once I’ve recovered 😅
It took me 5 years to find a rental that felt like me, not going anywhere ever. Hope you can settle yourself
Oh Gary!
Fabulous video 👏🏼🤩 Wishing you & Gary happiness in your new place. Hope you have now recovered- it’s definitely exhausting! lol Sharon 😘🇮🇱❤️
Thanks so much! 😊
Surprised! Curious to hear all about the move; why, local or across the counrty?
The birds are pretty cool, magical!
What mic do you use for b-roll and when talking? Nice video with amazing quality.
My friends had a giant mirror like that out on their balcony for some reason. It fell over while I was out there having a phone call, and gave me a pretty bad bruise on my thigh.
Ignore your weaknesses and resist the temptation to be more like others.
You look soooo much like Sarah Michelle gellar and I love it! ♥️
💙💙
Looks nice! Do you like it? Why did you move? Same city? Same country?
To Cool in Olympia: Do you live in Olympia, Washington like me?
🎉
Wait did you always have tattoos?? They look so cool
First! Alright i'll watch the video 😂
Now that we have that out of the way 😅
❤
Oh! Where are you going now???? Watching to find out!
😘
Is this a rental, or do you own it?
@user-yn1ke3wr4k This appears to be a forced move from a modern rental apartment, shown at the start of the video. To another rental that Patricia took with the existing wear and tear. And then dedicated regular energy over the last two months to cleaning it up, repainting the walls, washing the curtains and repairing some cosmetic damage on the walls. All things, of course, that the landlord should take responsibility for. But the market is so competitive, that tenants across the major cities of Australia are signing up for poorly maintained properties, at ever increasing rents. At 2:56 mins, Patricia says "Nobody is safe from the Perth rental market". She explains that the long story behind her move had been uploaded to her Patreon channel.
You finally ditched a single chair for a sofa......from 40 onwards, physical comfort becomes even more important. Secondly providing a level of comfort for guests to visit.
