" She apparently made that every second day for breakast. I forget the name of it, but the next morning she made us this chili, egg and crema dish that was amazing. I was jealous my friend ate like that every morning before school apparently because his mother liked to start the day off right before she went to work around 10AM. She'd wake up around 6 AM, cook breakfast for everybody, do her morning workout routine, then get a shower, get ready for work and head out. That woman was a dang super woman.

Does it taste like a pear then? If not what taste does it have ? Just curious bc so many in the comments seem to like it.
@@liberty9784No, they taste kind of sour. It's fruit, "Tuna", it's sweet though
@@mitchbart8242 Thank you kindly for commenting and letting me know.
So sour fruity sweet tuna flavor? Huh! 😬lol. While I DO like to give anything food wise a try at least once...but only as long as I can get past the smell. I don't think I could here. But even with that description... I still wish I could try it someday. Where I live, like north of here it's very popular to put diffrent smoked fish ( like salmon or white fish) on bagels maybe with some tomatoes olives and most important the cream cheese base. Too some ? That would maybe seem really gross. Lol. For me? Its DELICIOUS. So I try to keep an open mind when it comes to trying food ive never had before.
@liberty9784 The person didn't mean tuna as in fish. That's just what the prickly-pear-fruit is called in spanish. The smell is subtle. Nothing like the fish.

To us mexicans, that's not cactus.
That's nopales.
Cactus are the round, tall ones that look like poles with spikes.
Nopalitos are delicious.
Well, to a lot of people that's just a cactus. And this guy did clarify nopales
are nopalitos slimy in texture?
@@reesereserved depends on how you cook them.
I kinda like it, but supposedly you can get rid of it by boiling the nopalitos with some salt for 10 minutes, ant 3 minutes before turning the stove off, add a pinch of baking soda, then remove the water.
I haven't tried that one, though. I googled it.

Ngl had this at my Mexican friend's house. His family was fairly wealthy 'cause his dad was a well educated man and worked a pretty good salaryman job.
His mother made these amazing breakfast tacos. I was like " What is this? " and she goes ' Oh it's cactus! It's cactus and chilis. That's why I asked if you had any allergies to peppers or cactus last week. "
She apparently made that every second day for breakast.
Damn jealous of her husband getting such a superwoman.
