- The host of ‘Hot Ones’, Sean Evans, joins Adam and Gina and talks about the origins and meteoric rise of the show. They recount Adam’s appearance on ‘Hot Ones’ and look at DJ Khaled’s poor performance on the show. Sean gets into his interview process and his experience eating a Carolina Reaper: the world’s hottest chili pepper. Gina Grad reports the news of today including: Jason Momoa getting slammed for climate hypocrisy, TikTok shipping different versions of the app to other countries than what they get in China, and a woman getting a Guinness World Record for her giant feet.
As a former 4 year old, I can resonate with DJ Khaled.
As a former 8 year old, I’m with Sean on this.
also Adam Carolla, incidentally
Even at 4 I had more self respect than this dude
lol
Lmfaoooo
The best part was Sean telling him “I’ve done it 9 times.”
Sean must laugh at that now that he's done it something like 276 times. Khaled is a quitter.
As someone who can’t handle hot shit, I wouldn’t be able to do it either, but if I was someone in a position where I was invited on the show I also wouldn’t let my hubris or ego tell me “they ain’t that hot sheeesh I can handle it” like nah bro lmao gotta know you’re limits, but dj Khalid has none.
Another one 🏆
@@didybopintitys I get that some people cant handle it, but if that is the case he should have said he quit.

His whole bs that he'd never go down on his wife cuz he's a 'real man' always killed me 😂. Like bro how embarrassing to be so out of shape and lazy that you suck in bed but convince yourself it's a matter of principal.
DJ Khaled is the embodiment of "talking the talk" but not walking the walk.
Waddling the waddle is more accurate
He obviously doesn’t like to walk
ooomg truuueee
Khaled doesn’t believe in walking lol
He doesn't walk
DJ Khalid is the Steven Segull of hip hop - legendary.
This is so on point! Now I am counting the days until Khalid grows out the ponytail because I know in my heart it will happen one day.
We all know who you mean. But it is Segal. Don't want to misspell a black belt master in aikido...
This is very accurate. Just like segal, DJ Khalid really doesn’t do anything, they are both total phony’s who think so highly of themselves!
“I’ve been eating spicy wings for like 57 years….”
Ha! You nailed it. "Just because you won doesn't mean I lost. I also won. I won a lesson". "You lost". "Seemingly...".
DJ Khalid always finds a new way to make himself look like a jack ass and I love it
Remember the video where he got a bob marley guitar and goes on to absolutely disgrace that poor guitar? lmao
Or when he got lost on a jet ski in the ocean

@@moebetta08Yeah it’s for real lol That definitely makes it funnier

The clapback at the end was perfectly delivered so hilarious
They werent wrong that is the kind of response an 8 year old would give. I see it all the time some kid gets upset and no amount of rational thought will calm them down even if its right, but kids cant help themselves and will always fire back. So one kid might be in tears saying someone else cheated when it reality they didn't they are just good at it so they always win vs the kids that are not. And kids will just team up on the one crying repeating no their not over and over which doesn't fix the situation it just makes it worse the kid crying just needs to go off and calm down.
It’s always fun when celebrities expose themselves to being super conscious of their image on camera.
Insecure, not conscious
The DJ Khalid episode was the pinnacle of how a Hot Ones episode can go so wrong and go so right at the same time. I still lmao every time I see this. Epic 😂😂
"Maintain the facade of being cool" seemed like a low key dig from Sean, and I'm here for it lol
He’s had too many people around him telling him what he says is deep 😂😂😂

Sean Evans is such a gracious dude. He could have talked so much trash about Khaled but he went the high road.
He didn't need to talk trash about DJ Khaled. Enough people are doing it for him.
if he savages people off the show, it would make it difficult to bring in new guests that may already be self conscious in not knowing what they are getting into. if they make a mistake, or react badly... are a bit too much themselves... it wouldnt be worth it to him to violate any implied trust that he has built.
First time I saw DJ Khalid speak he made my eyes roll. Happens every time he starts with his crap.

Idk how long the original interview was here, nut they missed a few key points:
1. Kahled had his own guy prep the wings, but still thought they might be different than Sean's.
2. The whole fuggboy, door, hinges part, where Sean dutifully plays along.
😅
Sean also mentioned in another interview he did that Khaled actually brought a pizza to the interview 😂

I always think about the Weird AL interview on Hot Ones where by halfway through he is basically just touching the wings to his teeth, but he's still trying to carry out the premise, he's bringing big energy, he's making the show happen. At least do that!
Touching the wings to your teeth and avoiding the heat entirely is not carrying out the premise. It's just a regular interview at that point. If Khaled pulled that shit everyone would still be clowning him. Weird Al gets a pass from everyone because they like him.

The DJ Khaled hot ones interview is one of the few hot ones interviews I've watched more than once. That's top tier entertainment right there
In the beginning of the show there would be a lot of episodes where people would quit half way because it was too hot. I can't remember the last time that happened lol everybody makes it to the end now
They changed the spiciness of the sauces they use now. There's really only da bomb that's insane heat anymore. The rest are kind of hot but mostly just different flavors. The interviews are more relaxed but honestly not as entertaining imo.
@@josephsleight2634 Having recently tried Da Bomb and The Last Dab with family at a BBQ... The Last Dab is a psych-out. It is tasty but the heat is NOT on the level of Da Bomb. I'm used to hot stuff and enjoy tasty ones but Da Bomb was just pain with a terrible flavor. I could handle it but it took me like 10 minutes to get my mouth to calm. One of my uncles was struggling for almost 45 minutes.
Honestly I think the show has just reached a level of popularity where nobody wants to be seen quitting early. Even early on there were always guests who could breeze through without much reaction.

Sean Evans is such a great interviewer. So many of his guests give him well deserved props. I feel like there should be some sort of "Good Interviewing techniques 101" class for Journalism majors that require the study of what Sean does.
I think a charisma on command video or something like that references how his interview techniques and subject matters are very applicable to making someone more interesting, he gets you out of the mundane and makes you think, which makes you feel more excited about the conversation.
Lol it's like every interview he does, the guest ends up being like "oh my god, that was SUCH a great question!" or "Damn dude, you really did your homework!". It's lovely to see
the reason you get to roll the red carpet is because YOU MADE IT TO THE END. lowkey the interview should have stopped there because he didnt pass the gauntlet of wings. Dj Khaled literally got a participation trophy.

What's their repeated "Michelle Obama thing" about? Genuinely asking.
I'm looking for the same info
I don't know exactly what he's referring to, but Adam is pretty right-wing and seems to have a grudge against Michelle Obama for reasons. I assume that whatever he's referring to is something she said that he took issue with, and supposedly it was circular logic, he called it "Michelle Obama's circle talk" and hasn't let it go ever since, taking any chance at bringing it up, however loose the connection may be. You'll find that right-wingers do this a lot... they find something stupid, petty or made-up about a political opponent and then hammer it nonstop ad nauseam to pound the conversation around that person into their submission and try to convince people it's true via repetition. You keep hearing a lie often enough, you start thinking it must be true. That's the whole right-wing propaganda tactic.

DJ Khaled could not save face. His actions just dug the hole he was in deeper and deeper. Should have made the dignified move by surrendering and graciously tapping out.
Even Jeff Goldblum at least tried to keep to form with the show and then on the other hand Jenna Ortega was barely phased at all it looked like. It's entertainment just roll with it.
Best thing about that episode is it basically gave most artists the bar to beat and show everyone else can do it. Except him
"I've never took an L"
"Never?"
"NEVER"
"You never like, missed an exit on the freeway?"
"NO"
I have it on good authority that DJ Khaled can't read.
🤣🤣
You can’t force DJ Khalid to do anything real or with substance. Like his shows, he just hypes the whole time to a background track by other artists, with rarely a beat he actually makes.
Is this the old 2 bears 1 cave set? It looks so similar
What is up with all the static from these mics? it sounds both fuzzy and overly gated.
Joey Fatone's a few episodes after that... Sean brought it up coz Khaled went to HS with him... And when he (Joey) found out he only made it to the 3rd wing he was like "hahahaha what a wuss"
I still love the guy who went reverse order and almost immediately knew how bad he tucked up
Oh man, I loved that episode. I think he came back and did it again in the right order.
Eddie Huang - just looked it up. haha, legend!
I've never heard one of his songs, after seeing this, I'd like to keep it that way.
"Dont wanna speak for sean here" one minute in still no word from sean😂
This is a good clip till the end:
1) "He's doing the Michelle Obama circle talk". What in the world? What does Michelle Obama have to do with any of this?
2) "I'm the last person to be fat phobic" Why do we need to bring up weight right here? He's just saying that he's hurting from the wings and he doesn't want to go on.
It was just a weird ending to a generally good conversation about DJ Khaled tapping out on a challenge and refusing to admit it. The talk about him being a child was on point. The politics and fat talk was just... odd.
He's doing the Donald Chump, "Even if I lose, I'm still going to claim I'm a winner." talk. That's what he's doing.
DJ Khalid is such a meme generator. All that was missing was him doing his shuffle waddle dance.
One of my favorite episodes. Can't believe he tapped out on some Cholula. That's about as spicy as a spritzing of rosewater.
