A very small minority of the UK population, but they are the type that do not allow others to have views which are different from their own, and unfortunately some people and organisations therefore make decisions so as not to offend them. So we all suffer because of this small minority. That's their take on democracy for you.

I remember seeing a documentary about 15 years ago about him. It was very obvious that there's a lot more to him that meets the eye and that he's actually artistic, but that he's very much the product of the class system and the environment where he grew up. If he was middle class and from the South East and went to the right schools he'd probably be a career musician or something.

Chubbs is great. Banned from UK TV for obvious reasons but his stage shows and DVDs are hilarious. One of the funniest men on the planet and such a down to earth, nice guy when off stage too.

The guy is an absolute legend. His early tapes from years ago are some what very un-PC by today standards but so classic. He was seen in a local pub in my home town a few days back and not in Middlesbrough. Out of town enjoying a meal. Chubbs does a frequent rally around for charities, been know to buy a round of drinks for everyone at the pub he's out for a meal at. "It is all an act" quote Chubbs the guy is an gentleman.

Great to see this! I have seen Roy 23 times in 4 years. The man is such a gent, he has time for all his fans and is abound with stories that you wouldn’t believe. Man has a gift of the gab and I will always admire that and how he has made it work for him and his audiences for over 52 years. A true legendary institution regardless of what the toffee nosed types want to say about it.

Funnily enough, I’ve just said practically the same thing, that he’s such a nice , pleasant person when he’s off stage, as it’s all an act on stage….obviously! I was nearly pissing myself with laughing at Bruce, who probably did piss himself laughing at Chubby! So glad that our Atlantic cousins have discovered our best British talent AND they are literally pissing themselves with laughing and no doubt they will tell their friends about Chubby! If everyone in this crazy world just took a break and watched Chubby, instead of getting stressed and causing mayhem, I reckon that the World would certainly be a better place! How about a Chubby DVD being prescribed at the Doctors instead of some snake oil / pills?

Chubby did a couple of seasons in my home town of Southport. My mate was sat in this bar talking to him, yes I was there and I did not have a clue, My mate said he was one of the politest people he had ever met and he told him that chubby was a character he came up with an alter ego if you like. Off stage he is one of the nicest people you could ever meet and talk with. When he's not in his stage cloths you would not recognise him. I know I did not.
